Thank you so much for sharing your story. I think being african im including myself we don't know much about finances you only do what your parents did or saw and you learn that as a pattern. My belief about money has always been "You earn it, spend it all until the next salary comes" which is a wrong belief. You don't have to be broke a week or days before month end. Im in that cycle again because the bank system works like a prison. Its Horrible. Again thanx for sharing your story.
Ohhhh my godness, so much truth in that. Many of us we repeat what we saw from our parents growing up. But lucky enough we are exposed to so much financial education now and slowly we are doing better.
Capitec loans are dangerous and they don't care about us. I went and borrowed 197,000 to pay off my car and complete the building back home so I can have 1 installment, 2 weeks in I regretted that decision so so much. Every month I was paying 7,500 but all of it was going towards interest, I'd experience panic attacks nje. Thanks to my mother we ended us getting an unexpected payout from her estates which was exactly what I owed and I took it all to pay off Capitec. We broke now but at least I'll save it back. 1 year 5 months later it was paid off and I was going to pay it till 35 😢. Never and never again
So true, they do not care about us. Last week they called wanting to assess how much credit I could qualify for, I told them I have had all their credit officers and I am never going back there again. Sibonge your mothers estate cs wow capitec loan is a headache. I had to not enjoy my bonus every year just to attack these debts.
Dear Jennifer, I stumbled upon your channel and I thank God that I did. I learned a lot from you and will surely apply your advice. This is wonderful & you're a godsend. Thank you so much!
Binge watching your videos today... It's actually so great to see how far you've come in your personal finance journey and it's always good to know where your money went even if you have to do a lot of work and make sacrifices to get there ✨
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰 are you not at work today? When I look at my budget now I feel so happy because I have really come a long way with minimising my debt.
This video came as a suggestion literally when I was thinking about how I'm going to tackle my 85k debt in order to qualify for a home loan. I also need to renovate my mom's 🏠 cause it's in shambles. Yoh it's a lot
hey, there's something called a Further Loan/Building Loan which you can apply for for extensions on a house. It's secured debt so it's cheaper than a personal loan because they'll use the house as surety.
I just went and Googled and I am so happy to have people like you in my community. This just gave me another viable option cs wow I never want to see myself owing a personal loan yohhh
Thank you for the feedback, For some of my videos it’s important that I share the back story so that another person watching the video understands how I got there. If I was watching a similar video I would be interested to know how did one end up owing that much or saving that much before getting to tips. That is just my thought process when I create my videos especially talking about money. But I also understand you are entitled to your videos and I welcome your feedback. I will try to put time stamps on my next sit down videos.
This is the most informative video meant for me I have ever watched. Thank you so much Jen🙌 I'm hurt that I only get this information now that I have paid 27% loan for like 5 years but with this knowledge I'm gonna make better choices
I am so sorry 😞 you have been paying back your loan for this long. I am happy to know you found value and learned something. Wishing you all the best with your finances hun 😘😘
Hey Jennie thanks for these videos I am actually doing my internship and I already have vehicle finance loan and I still owe the university I want to start paying them off faster and be free
I love that you have a plan, stick to it and you will get to your goal. It will be nice for you to start a permanent job with one of these debts down 🥰❤️
I’m currently paying a personal loan of 10k back it’s nowhere near your amount but it sucks hey and worse part I didn’t do anything productive with the money . I am paying more than the installments
Watching my second video now..and yoh...i am now inspired to even finish paying my debt b4 my finish date...m currently at 12000,but not sure if they would want me to pay exta money that i get..mine is at old mutual.
Thank you for this video. I have a loan I have been avoiding but at my cost. I love how you said it was not nice but you needed to be free. I also need to be free.
Great content Jen. Eish i have like over 50k worth of debt, my salary is not even able to cover the repayments. I've been sitting here since last week researching about the cash stuffing system, budgeting, savings. I've got 4 kids, I'm the sole breadwinner with a very low income and i get paid weekly😢. Any advice will appreciate
It would be hard for me to give you any advice as I don’t have a full view of your budget. But please know that it is possible to pay it off, it may take time but it is doable.
@JennNxumalo eish my budget is almost non existent and I keep trying to write out something suitable for the household, it worked for 1 weekly then fell thru the cracks the following week 😭
Hi dear ,thank you for your informative channel ,can you please give advice to me ,my son has two loans at Capitec ,he wasn't working for two years so they handed him over ,he got a job few months ago and started paying 250 towards both loans ,but the instalments were close to 500 a week ,do you think that 1000 a month is making a difference ,or should we not pay and accumulate and pay in big sums or increase what we paying as he will be starting a new job soon ,please advice ,l want to do the cost effective thing to help my son as he did all of this to help us ,thank you dear ,love your content
Hi! Thank you for reaching out and sharing your son’s story. Paying extra may look like it is not making a difference at the beginning but over time it does. He can also go to the bank and ask them to re-work the loan for the new instalment of R1000 at a lower interest rate (if possible) or at a short term. But paying extra monthly does help. If he gets things like bonus he can use some of the money to pay into the loan. But these are all practical when you know the total of the debt, it’s interest and term of loan.
@@JennNxumalo ,hi dear ,when we approached the bank ,they said it is handed over to the lawyers so we must contact them , nothing is reflecting on the system ,showing blank ,but my concern by paying through the lawyers ,when will it finish and l don't know where we stand ,sorry to bother you ,but l really appreciate your input
Hi! Sixolile, there is no time limit in applying again. When you say you want to pay it off, does this mean you will be paying extra? Cs if you pay extra, why not use the extra funds to focus on what you want to do.
@@JennNxumalo Thank you for your response, its a small loan, and its blocking me from getting things i want, thats why i dont mind to pay it all at once, i was just afraid about time period that i should wait to be able to apply again, so does this mean once paying off, those debts wont be there anymore? like wont stop me from getting another loan?
20 yrs ago there was no grade R in school and when they introduced them the teachers hired there did not need teaching qualifications, over time that became a requirement. When she started for 10 years she was not under the department she was getting paid by the governing body R800 pm. So back than the qualification for teaching Grade R was not needed, also because back then there were no qualifications for early childhood. She still teaches Grd R.
