the "out in queens with the fiends, i'm your highness" bar is SO GENIUS. queens -> your highness (like the royalty), fiends -> your highness (bc fiends are likely to be high). the fact he came up with this shit on the fly is so impressive
this isnt off the dome, the “freestyle” is him spitting bars over a beat he didnt write it for, still slaps tho
I cannot wait until regular listeners understand the genius of freestyles without thinking they’re off the dome. Majority in history have never been off the dome. MAJORITY. Doesn’t negate their greatness, is actually more impressive to me to memorize and be able to spit it on any beat and still style it with inflections. But it’s been a long misconception that “freestyle” and “off the top” are the same thing.
I love that I'm able to distinguish between a written and an off the dome freestyle.
