I highly recommend people to plant live oak trees in their yards and around their homes, they grow fast give great shade have extensive root systems and are very flexible (they bend in the wind, instead of breaking). In all my years of hurricanes I have experienced, I have never lost a single live oak tree! Just saying.

I loaned out a generator and invited many neighbors over to charges their stuff. I had 60 gallons of gas on hand (like always) plus 20 large propane tanks... Repair teams were not even mobilized prior to the storm. They drove in from other states today.
I would be ecstatic if it were only two days. Center Point is saying it could be two weeks before we have power.

There will still be damage but whole communities won’t be leveled. Every report on this storm had the words “climate change” in. Comes ashore as a tropical storm. Big difference.
