The wobbling is my major concern with these lifts. Do you have a video on how much it actually moves?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if the hoist is down on the lock it doesn't move much at all. The higher the hoist the more movement, I would not put a full size pick up at the top then push on the side like hell, at waist height I have no problem doing any kind of work on it.

Glad to see a review on the peak lifts live in the shuswap and just ordered one from babco as well. How easy are they to assemble? Anyone have any issues this video review was not super great i will upload a good one when I get it together. The heavy duty ramps and the loud locks are signs of strength. Also lowering a lift takes forever when there is no weight on it.

I was told by a distributor that peak also manufactures all the bendpak lifts. Has anyone compared them side by side to a bendpak?

Peak manufactures lifts under their own name and also under AMGO. Not associated with Bendpak at all. I've got a 2 post 10,000lb Peak lift and love it.

I have the Peak 408-P. I have had it for almost 1 1/2 years and LOVE IT!! I did a lot of research before buying it and am thrilled with my choice. It is beefier than most 'hobby hoists' and looks great! I love the hidden safety lock linkage and the steel grey colour. Interestingly, people shy away from the 'Chinese' made label, but most on the market are made there and then labelled when they arrive here. This one was actually sold as an Atlas SL-408-P (or 409 in your case) for several years. I purchased mine about $800 cheaper as a Peak..which IS the actual manufacturer. I got mine from Babco in Canada just after they first started selling Peak lifts. When I pointed out to the salesman that Atlas had been selling them for several years, he was actually shocked and had to look it up. When he saw what Atlas was charging, he laughed and said I was getting a good deal based on that. I told him I had done my homework. ;-)

Im getting the 408-P from Babco as well. Im in Toronto. Any issues to date with your lift?. Works fine?. Did you have to test the concrete in your garage to see if it can withstand the weight?

No issues at all! I Love this lift! I talked with Babco rep about my floor, as I have in floor heating. No issues. I think you will be thrilled with this lift. It is beefier than most hobby lifts and with great features. The hidden linkage and safety brakes are make this an upper tier lift at a bargain price. 🙂
