Finally. Someone with taste who actually shares some unique, genuinely interesting glass.
I keep meaning to share my collection on YT...gotta get on it!
Hey!! Thanks for the shout! My babies
I found a set at an old video studio and tried to buy them. Unfortunately someone beat me to them with a higher offer. It was awesome getting a chance to check them out regardless.
Thanks for the camera lore today
2:26 Shoutout to Lost Kuma, amazing curator of high-end equipment.
thank you :)
thanks for letting me be in the lens test! 🤍
My desire for them was born today.
Cool video and cool history lesson for the day as well!
You can also use BNCR mount lenses on MFT cameras like the GH6/7
great stuff mitchell!
4:44 Add some dust and that's straight out of Silence of the Lambs.
The 18mm lens - is a Cooke Speed Panchro, I believe mk2.
The majority of the set are Contax Zeiss with a 24mm SSC FD added.
I own a set of these and they are incredible.
@@AussieSolarGuy wow I’m very jealous
Incredible lenses! Thanks for giving us a taste of these!
I love connor over at DFI. been my main guy for rentals as a USC student
@@nobiwon3708 he’s THE best. I’ve become a real fan of that place.
Wow, never heard of them!
Dang this was dope. Thanks for sharing
Just starting up video at 7AM after long drinking night, and all I can say "BRING IT ON" 0:51
This was an interesting lens, but as am new to this i would have appreciated a comparison with a regular lens
fun video - thanks for sharing some history.
Thanks for sharing these! They look really good on that Alexa 35. That Alexa 35 I heard can use normal house lights and still looks like controlled lighting. Is that true?
@@pglazzari1 I think it’s definitely still going to come down to whether or not the house lights are usable plus the grade you do. You can shoot this is house lights and get a great image, but I’ve done the same on plenty of other cameras. I will say it does have the latitude like film stock. You could shoot this camera like film and you’ll be fine in post treating it the same way because it holds so much information.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Does the colorgrade have any sort of added film grain or is this straight out of camera? I'd assume the latter but wanted to be sure lol
@@themadlightfilms I had the grain texture selected on the camera which I realized in editing
Dear Gen Z etc... PLease note the mic is designed to be CLIPED on to your lapel. STOP HOLDING THESE MICS its KILLING US old ppl
Legitimate question: Why do you hold the lav? Why not clip it on? I don't get this trend - what am I missing? It seems so inconvenient.
I just feel more comfortable holding it. Gives me something to do with my hands.
