My Vintage just arrived yesterday. I'm so pumped to put it to work.
you'll have to upload a video using it sometime
You made a great video here. 🥇👏🏽. I actually prefer the perception mic on your voice overall, but I wont lie, that mid range on the stellar really fills out your voice, more beefy and substantial. I thought I was hearing some tinnyness on the high end of it though. For the price point, you cant beat the Stellar Vintage, especially for a beginner like me. Also, this small company creates and builds these mics right here in the US, and that’s an important selling point to me as well.
Got my Vintage last week and can't find the sweet spot like with my AKG C214 and my RODE NT1... so yeah.
That X2 Vintage is very warm. I think it will fit my voice better than the AKG!
It really is. I can’t wait to hear how it sounds after post processing. That’s when you hear the real potential of a microphone in my opinion. In this video, I wanted to give you guys the raw vocals so you could make your decision based off how it sounds straight outta box. And not surprisingly, it sounds absolutely amazing. You really wouldn’t go wrong with this mic. Hope this helps you make your choice!
Those windscreens do come in handy for recording outside though, they help cut out the wind noise.
True I should have specified whether or not you’re recording indoor/outdoor
@@UndergroundSoundProductions great review though, makes me wanna get it!
For $250 you get a mic that sounds naturally warm with literally no sibilance right out of box and I guarantee it’ll really shine when you post process. In this video I didn’t want to post process the vocals cause I felt like that’d be cheating but just imagine how that’d sound if I ran it through either the Avalon 737 or Manley voxbox. If you’re thinking about getting it, I’d give you the green light and say go for it. I know you’d be just as happy as I was with the results from it. I’m gonna put out a video later tonight that’ll really show the beauty of the Vintage
Please standard stellar x2 vs vintage stellar x2
I was thinking about doing that video at some point. Watch out for it!
@@UndergroundSoundProductions thanks!
@@UndergroundSoundProductions please do this like today bro x2 vs vintage x2!!
This was gonna be my first mic but went with TLM 103 instead.
The TLM103 is amazing too! But, this mic has a more warmer tone rather than the TLM103 which is brighter. You couldn’t go wrong with having both! That’s why I own a perception 100/stellar X2 and the vintage stellar X2. Now I can record literally anything with a specific sounding mic
Which microphone should i use for rap, my budget is 100$
Buy a used perception 100 or perception 200 on eBay
@@UndergroundSoundProductions but used one could be broke
Jekab so read the description and make sure it isn’t broke. And if for whatever reason the seller lied and said it wasn’t when it actually was, file a case with eBay and get your money back. eBay isn’t as crooked as most people make it out to be
Got one today! A little ess-y on top, but nice mic! Interesting, had earphones on, your Perception sounded warmer to me, the X2V sounded cleaner. If you look at the Freq Rsp curve you can see it gets almost a 2/3db boost from 2K across......then drops off way up high, we may disagree on what the term "warmer" is. If the X2 is flatter, it'd be warmer to me.....
Man, at the 8:00 mark when you swapped mic's it cleaned up considerably.
How does it feel when comparing to NT1?
Stay tuned for later tonight and you’ll see
Wat mic sounds better Shure 7b or that one
Which one, the Vintage X2 or my Perception 100 I used in the beginning of the video?
@@UndergroundSoundProductions the stellar vintage one compare to the shure 7b
I might be able to make that happen soon. Stay tuned
@@UndergroundSoundProductions i got a nuemann 102 but it's to high pitched on the s and ts the Shure 7b would be the best but the noise floor is a deal-breaker I think I'm a go whith the rode nt1 for the facts it's more flat and you can make your own changes to make the mic fite your voice better
this one sounds like the fixed version of the X2
Yikes the vintage has a brutal harsh siblance ... is rather have a smooth type of siblance
It sounds very harsh on the top end.
No way. RUclips compression may have something to do with what you're hearing. I just recorded with one this week and it begins to drop off at 10kHz. It's nice and smooth. Great on vocals and for $250 this is a no-brainer.
lol a broke u47
