Think of a person who has faced a difficult childhood, filled with adversity and hardship. They could choose to let those experiences define them negatively, believing that they are destined to always struggle and be a victim of their past. However, they could use their experiences as motivation to grow and learn, and become a resilient and compassionate individual. In this case, they are not defined by their past but by the choices they make to overcome it and become the person they aspire to be.
Well written sir. I had a rough childhood, lost my mom to suicide in 2019 and my dad attempted 3 times. I had to mentally do it all myself. Thank you for this~:)
This entire video is a poem, recited ever so beautifully. I cannot be grateful or thankful enough to whom ever is responsible for creating this video or posting it.
Despite a challenging upbringing, one can either be consumed by past struggles, seeing themselves as perpetual victims, or leverage these trials for personal growth, fostering resilience and empathy. They aren't defined by their past, but by their determination to transcend it and shape their desired identity.

This channel is so underrated. You have a way of representing your ideas in a beautiful eloquent way my friend. Please keep it up. Absolute pleasure listening to you.
Thank you for your kind words! It's always encouraging to hear that Stoicism is appreciated. What topics or ideas would you like to see more of Stoicism?
Really enjoyed this presentation, thank you. Very well explained and inspiring. In this modern age of consumerism and ego, looking at these philosophies as tools for our betterment feels like a good move. 🙏🏿
Gentle wordsmith and sage of the quill, thou hast crafted a tome of profound wisdom and inner reflection, akin to the illuminated manuscripts of ancient scriptoria. "The Art of Letting Go" doth resonate as a beacon of enlightenment, guiding us through the labyrinthine passages of stoicism and minimalism with the grace of a scholar-monk illuminating the minds of the seeking.
I let go long ago. I let go and chose to let God. Whatever the consequence. The hardest part is trying to be above the malevolence of others. The nasty actions, nasty words, nasty hearts. The complete lack of decency and the overwhelming expectations and entitlement. I pray for wisdom in trying to conquer the negative emotions these things stir up inside myself. Oh, and sneakers..I have a weakness for tennis's :(
Accepting our darkest secrets casts aside the shadows that evil leaves behind. The principles of stoicism are our compass and bearings and provide the tools to clear the clouds and open a pathway to being blessed. If you let god walk beside you then you will become strong.
Thrilled to be sharing wisdom and knowledge with you! What teachings have resonated the most with you, and how have they influenced your path to success?
Criticism when done right is a very helpful way of looking at the subject. Because it helps you to see the subject in a different way. Sometimes a better way. So don't argue and hate the person just because they see something in a different way. I wish this was the way people delt with politics especially. Awesome video gave it a like and subbed.
You've touched on an important aspect of constructive criticism How can we apply this open-minded approach to everyday conversations, especially in sensitive areas like politics, to foster understanding rather than division?
Avail yourself to eastern philosophy from whence these concepts originate. Your videos are incredible. This video reflects, almost entirely, what the philosophy of yoga, based on the Vedic scriptures, recounts. Originating thousands of years prior, it would be beneficial to explore stoicism’s origins
@@frankbair5605 the briefest of introductions. There is an incredible amount of depth to the origins of stoicism that lie in yogic philosophy and can be very beneficial to seekers
What an interesting video! Enjoyed the comparison of Minimalism and Stoicism. I choose to follow the Creator of the universe and let His spirit lead me to wisdom, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfuless, gentleness and self-control.
It's intriguing how different philosophies and beliefs guide us right? How do you find that following the Creator's path intersects with or differs from the principles of Minimalism and Stoicism in your journey towards wisdom and self-control?
I must commend you on your interest in such deep subjects, particularly at your young age. You will be miles ahead of me, a 73 yr old. I wish you well in your searching.
Minimalism can actually be lumped together with Stoicism. Temperance is one of the core virtues of Stoic philosophy by which minimalism can fall under.
One group you neglected to mention are the First Nations. As an Indigenous person, the 7 Sacred Teachings are also remnant of Buddhism, Stoicism, minimalism, ect. Love, Respect, Courage, Humility, Honesty, Wisdom, Truth...;) each one represented by an animal. The profound understanding that we must honour the Earth, family and one's self are integral to the Indigenous way of life
I will also say that anxiety held me back from fully embracing these philosophies no matter how hard I tried. Adding THC/cannabis truly helped me let go and helps alleviate the anxiety that held me back.

Sounds great. Except for the fact that most people need to work like 50% of everyday. You can’t embrace minimalism while you’re on the clock doing the bidding of your corporate overlord.
Peace to everyone here, let's reflect shall we, those hateful souls who have little to no empathy find it fun to inflict misery on others. If you believe in Karma, listen to Radio head - The Karma Police will find you.
