    Thank you for this update, glad to see you are both well. In relation to the currency issue, this is similar to when you visit Caribbean Islands, they happily accept USD and in some cases prefer you pay for items in USD. Why do you think there has been so much discord in the middle east with the US? Not withstanding the constant war over their resources, the US imposed many countries accept and exchange in USD so this is what happens. I never understood it because you can't go the the states and pay in another currency. For many years the US dollar has been the "gold" standard but that will change very soon!

    It's very common for non-black shop owners to raise the price of the food we buy regularly

      So kind. We African woman focus on the inner beauty first. The external is a manifestation of the inner work. We all must make our way to a more beautiful self.🙏🏾

    I have seen the money exchangers give a lot more gmds for higher amount USD bills . For example, if you get my 20, he'll give you the current exchange rate plus an additional 5 GMD. Or in the case that I remember directly, it was $100 US. He gave an additional 20 GMD over the exchange rate is right there at the airport. I have no idea what value they get out of having that US currency in a country that has its own currency

      There’s a lot of hustle going on. Sometimes you can see the value and pay. If we don’t see the value we find another source and keep it moving.

      Romance comes and goes. Home is where the heart is, even when it’s not perfect. Never had a romance with America. Never felt we belonged.

      No real regrets here. All apart of the journey no matter where you land. We still love Gambia. Walk your walk in integrity and with your head up and TMH will do the rest. We encourage all of our brothers and sisters who can to leave the west and be reunited with this land. It will speak to you, heal you, challenge you, but it all works out for your good.😇🙏🏾

    The Gambia is getting very expensive to live Mexico is much cheaper they are saying return to help their economy. It’s happened in Ghana. They are becoming to greedy they watching U tube. Red flag. 🚩. There is many other places like Senegal Ivory Coast live other African countries

      Yes it is getting expensive and in many cases I don’t agree with these increase, but we are managing. If TMH sends us somewhere else it certainly will still be Africa. The land is spiritual. It’s beautiful and it’s our gift from the creator; we just have to find our space.

    You are complaining about the cost of Pringles and chips, imagine giw it is for Gambians who have had the cost of rice increase by 60%.
    We used to be able to buy a wheelbarrow of fish for D400, now it is D5000.
    As far as charging USD for rent, it is actually ILLEGAL to do so. As of July 2023.
    This USD economy is a new thing, and it was introduced by the Americans coming over. The changes in the last 5 years have been shocking, and to be honest, none of them are good 😢

    • @ourjourneytowardseden1749
      @ourjourneytowardseden1749  Год назад

      Not complaining, but truly understand your pain. It’s not us driving up the prices it’s the ones who have the power to raise them on us which effects all. I get it…..but please don’t blame it on the Americans. Gambians in powers and the other races in power control what they sell for. It’s difficult for us all and I hope things will get better for us all.
