@@true_rcs your definitely my go to guy concerning clarity on the debate of the RC thanks so much you, your channel, and content are phenomenal can absolutely see the meticulous effort in your videos
Those are nice pop report numbers. Preserves the scarcity but just enough out there that if you really wanted one you can probably find one. Thanks for the support just trying to preserve the sanctity of the rookie card within the hobby at the same time understanding that it has evolved and will continue to evolve.
As a Phillies fan, I’ve been trying to make sense of Harper’s rookie cards. This video really cleared things up as I’m zeroing in on his 2012 Topps Chrome Base for my 2022 wish list. Thanks!
I can't say that I share your passion (or care) about the technicalities of rookie cards, but I love how you call it like you see it (Panini cards aren't rookies) and are willing to rub people the wrong way.
Thanks, Beans! I try to speak the truth respectfully. My intentions are not to rub the fur in the opposite direction, it's just at times the RC can be a polarizing topic. Many are naive and/or ignorant on such topics and I'm a refreshing glass of cold water.🤣 🤣 🤣
There’s a card I am trying to find info on and you didn’t have it in here. 2012 series 2 had a golden moments autograph card that was of Bryce Harper. Was it ever said why this card doesn’t have the RC logo?
Yes they are so long as it parallels the base set RC. Personally, I don't take exception to the size of the card, bigger or smaller what matters most is the card back the same and is the card number the same.
Great video Victor! Absolutely loved it. I wouldn't really say there was controversy with Harper winning the MVP. He was the clear choice and I say that as someone who had money on Juan Soto winning the MVP and as someone who is probably the biggest Soto shill in the community! 😂 661C is probably my favorite Harper "rookie". Reason being is because he's pictured at CBP with the Phillies dugout in the background and if Harper continues on his pace he will go into the Hall as a Phillie since he's going to be here for a very long time.
Hey just a question, Howcome Harper’s bowman chrome draft isn’t considered a true RC but on your mike trout rc list the bowman chrome draft you have listed as a true RC. What’s the difference?
Great question. Only major difference would be in my view of parallels. As a purist I would not acknowledge then but as of a year ago I changed my stance on them. Parallel cards of the base set rc are considered true rc as well. Sorry for the confusion, I do believe I have a pinned comment on these videos as well.
Man that is the truth, prospecting for HOFers not prospects! I don’t have an opinion on the NL MVP and my favorite Of his rookies are the SP flagship Topps..
Harper was my vote for the MVP, my favorite Harper rookie/pre rookie card is the 2010 Bowman Chrome Team USA Card, my favorite true rookie card would be his 2021 Topps Chrome
That's just it, what does Beckett say about rookie cards? For decades their definitions on rookie cards were printed in magazines but not today. Go to their website for guidance on the rookie card, it's not there either. Not to mention some of the RC identifiers in their price guide portion are incorrect. They were my go to source for decades also. Hey, thanks for tuning in!
@@davidthecardcollector I would refer to these as "Rookie-Year" cards due to it being a regional-event card and a parallel. Still a very cool card to own and have in any collection. But when trying to identify rookie cards we should call them what they are and not what we want them to be.
@@true_rcs Thanks, I always thought the bowman platinum was a better choice if you liked the topps update photo of him but people like the update set brand.
I'm starting to turn away from the prospect and rookie chase for one simple reason, I'm 42 and it's 2021 and I don't know which side of the family I got my life span from
Hi RAN! I would say yes, his Triple Threads would be his one true rookie card auto. Now I'm not saying his Topps Certified auto is not cool or collectible. But for the reasons I mentioned it does NOT fall under the guidelines of a true rookie card. But it can still be identified as a "rookie year card" which still warrants respect. Hey thanks for tuning in! 👍
too confusing... I was gonna buy one Bryce Harper on advise of a friend but...it's all too much. I buy football and some BB cards as I just got back into collecting after being out of the hobby for 20 yrs. The hobby is ruined in my opinion... the hanger and blaster boxes with like...20 cards for 50-75 dollars is just uncalled for. I'm from a long lost time when packs had 12 cards in them for like 3.00 bux to 8.00 in the late 90's... a big difference. I know, I know...inflation...that was 20 yrs ago but how are kids gonna be able to buy cards at these prices? and another thing...Inserts were rare...one per box.. then one per pack later in the 90's. it's just ridiculous now what I been seeing.... 30 parallels and 20 insert sets n each set...gezzzzz I been buying Base cards.
I'm hoping this video didn't confuse you, that's the whole purpose of me making these types of videos, bring clarity on the matter. I totally understand how you feel about the changes that have occurred in the last 20 years, you're not alone in that aspect. Take it slow, and stick to what you enjoy! This is a great hobby! 👍
@@true_rcs No... not you... it's the whole market in general. I'm too old school I guess hahaha Inserts were one per box and Parallels were one per pack when I was collecting in the 80's and 90's ... I want to get some new stuff but am doin my research first thanks for the video....it's a credit to the hobby.
Another excellent video Victor. I'm totally on board with your 10 commandments and I would love to see them become official industry standard.

661A is one of my favorite cards in all of sports. Less than 500 graded between PSA, BGS, and SGC. I share many of your sentiments!

Bryce Harper’s 2012 Topps Archives #241 is another favorite of mine and between SGC,PSA,and BGS there are only a combined 123 total in the PoPs
Great Work! This rookie card is the one I have the most questions about given the sp vs. complete set card. You answered them all!

I typically post on Wednesday but this one took a couple of extra days 🤣 Thanks for tuning in Mike!
The heritage card was part of an online only box set. Only 1000 were made.
Thats correct! Thanks for the heads up!
