Hokmat demonstrated caution, planning and patience. He didn't execute everything right, but had too much advantage slowly and steadily gained througout the game. Bober, while his boldness paid off for a time, sadly couldn't handle the amount of risk he took. Very distinct approaches. In finance Bober would be trader type and Hokmat clearly an investor.
I sincerely hope that Bober doesn’t think chat/RUclips commenters love him ironically. For my part, I think it’s fantastic that he not only plays this game, but he goes into Ranked and seems to be interested in improving. It’s almost as if Bober is a representative for all of us. this human was pretty good. Good use of cloak of shadows, last minute invisible on the Naga, instant Dispell on book of the dead, etc. His late game was much better than his early game, but still pretty impressive.
When I started I faced Bober in bronze league - the dude destroyed me with BM and WINDRIDERS.
But I avenged myself when I got to silver :)

Now I wonder that one time a blade master destroyed me and stole my items when i went TC first was bober. If I can still look it up in replays I will check.

Using attack move back in the day was bread n butter. Crazy new players don't understand it. I was mostly an original dota player but at least understood those mechanics
Yeah, you just don't do any other thing. I'm pretty sure Starcraft campaign has marines tell you to use "attack" command to move to a spot and attack whatever's in the way. Don't really doubt War3's prologue campaign does that too.
I came from an Age of Empires 2 for many years before playing WC3 in 2003. There was no attack move in AoE2 back then (current version has it). Discovering attack move made the WC3 campaign go from nearly impossible for me on normal to totally doable on hard 😅
@@TNMJAD From memory you had to us the Patrol command in AoE 2 as a pseudo attack-move.
Yeah, back then at the very least everyone would a-move.
Even if my micro was terrible, it was a-move once committing to battle, and only after that, try to see where individual adjustments can be made.. so no matter how bad my micro is, at LEAST all my units are contributing DPS.
@@CalciumChief you have to use attack commands to destroy boxes and neutral creep buildings, which is required for some missions, but besides that no not really, they never teach it afaik.

Why i love bronze league - there were like 19 definite "oh that gotta be gg" but the game just went on. Back and forth!

What you need is The Mystical Adventures of Bober.
Side note: effective tower rushing requires more macro and resource management than players at this level can really deal with. Meanwhile, the person being tower rushed only has to focus on micro at their own base, generally. Obviously the better the tower rush is the more likely it is that you need to build outside of your base, have creative adaptation and macro more, but like...at this level it's almost advantageous to be on the receiving end.
Also, maps are generally larger these days. The distance between bases here is larger than some of the maps you might normally tower on, such as Echo Isles.

Picked up the game a month ago after 17 years and my only regret is not staying in Bronze League long enough to be featured on the channel.

dem Bober is a true orc, victory or death. He seems to be using homebrew strats, it was surely annoying for his opponent(and it's maybe a bit not sportsmanlike) but it was sort empowering to see someone not giving up.

In path of exile game there was a bug where you could reduce projectile speed bellow 0, causing it to wrap around to the largest positive integer. You can imagine the rest lol

Adding something like "silver-league heroes, gold-league heroes etc." for all the different leagues sounds super fun to watch!
I think slows from different sources stack, but their values reduce when stacked. Like Sorc Slow + Naga frost arrow slow stack because they are different types of Slow, but since it is essentially the same effect the MS slow is reduced. Could test with Sorc/Mud golem since they both use slow but are different unit types.

I REALLY enjoy you spectating these matches! Im not gonna lie, i kinda dropped off watching your pro matches.. :( Its just so far ahead of me i may as well be watching the gods battle in the heavens.. but with these bronze matches you rightfully call out their bad play and can relate to where i would have fkd up the same way. I dont think ill ever be good at WC3 and its always kinda bugged me being a RTS kinda guy.. but i think the RTS is what holds me back.. I just play wrong. Its very nice to know WHY i play wrong tho. Maybe enough of these and ill break my bad habits. Thx Grubby. 😀
So much of the game is just building up small wins while avaoiding losses. At low level its generally jest to preserve your army for creeping and the eventual big battle rather than trying to trade down, inless youre sure youre a lot better than your opponent at micro/army management.

At the point I see my Taurens get slowed so much I'd probably get some Headhunters and Shamans with bloodlust so they can at least attack at range. I'd probably get Far Seer third (well, me specifically would like have him as first) just for the far sight on invisble Archmage

In Age of Empires 2 it's best to get certain upgrades before producing units, or at least before using those units in combat. Especially for the swordsman-line, which is militia, man at arms, long swordsman, two handed swordsman, champion. Not only do you get a tech that makes them cheaper, but you're throwing away resources if you let I unupgraded units fight. A fully upgraded champion can take out ~4-8 unupgraded militia on its own. So blame AoE2 I guess
