Anyone who claims to have such an important job or that they are related to royalty needs the side eye. I am always suspicious when someone makes such grandiose claims during casual chitchat. In my experience, people with real credentials only talk about them when they are interviewing for jobs or when they are asked for them.

Records from the South Carolina Historical Society show that the Warings arrived to America in the 1600s. Joseph Hall Waring owned Pine Top Plantation in Dorchester County, according to information from the College of Charleston. He served as a state senator in 1865, and fought for the 4th Regiment South Carolina Cavalry of the Confederate Army. The Warings went to become a prominent family in the Lowcountry as politicians, fire and police chiefs, doctors, lawyers and journalists at the News and Courier. Dr. Ed West, a historian at the Summerville-Dorchester Museum, said he would not be surprised if the cabin belonged to the Warings’ slaves. Big oof in that family history. The black man got his revenge.

I’ve been waiting for this case to be covered. I had dinner with her parents a few weeks after she went missing, and the heartbreak was palpable. Tom knew she was gone. That’s why they got the investigators used by the best criminal attorney in town. The interview was said attorney talking to the splendidly stenciled Heather. They just wanted to be able to bury their daughter. For the people commenting on her plethora of medication, there’s a strong probability it was all prescribed by her psychiatrist. (He had me on 10 or 11 meds at one point.) Kate was a lovely, lost soul who never recovered from her childhood. She tried to rescue every creature she encountered. The last one turned out to be rabid.
It’s wonderful that she turned to helping others, rather than going down that other path. Nobody can take that from her. Her hair is just stunning. My sister has red hair that she colors blonde. It’s wasted on her. It should’ve been my hair color! I hope her friends and family are doing well. It’s too unfathomable to even imagine. ❤️🤟🏻

Sometimes when that type of thought depresses me, I remind myself that these tragedies are so shocking and make headlines, being talked about for years, because there are more decent people than there are evil. This is not the norm, so people like this stand out when they're caught, because, while there are a lot of bad people, most people are just normal, trying to get by as best they can. If the world were a complete clusterfck, these stories wouldn't be met with anger, sadness and empathy for the victims. Does that make sense? Idk, it can be hard to stay hopeful, but there is good and sometimes you have to step back to see it. Just scrolling through the comments on this video, you see so many people posting their sympathies for Kate and her family.
there's many things people do that people don't know about what was done in darkness will always come to light though 🥰 and darkness is necessary for the light otherwise how would one know what is be its light without the darkness to shadow ? it would be way to bright with just light, . there's always a rainbow after a dark storm and there's always a sunrise after the nighttime.
I moved into an apartment at 27yrs old. Finally left my parents house out in the country. I was not young, but definitely naive. Well, I accidentally witnessed a local drug dealer doing "his thing". He ended up being someone fresh out of prison on an attempted murder charge he did 11 1/2yrs for. He had saw that I had saw when I warned him about the cameras in my apartment building and to "just be more careful". He ended up home invading me, locking me in my own bedroom, occasionally assaulting me (physically and sexually) while selling his drugs out of MY apartment. When someone tells you "Whether it takes me 2hrs or 8hrs imma beat your ass to death, you gonna be on the news tomorrow b*tch!" There is NOTHING you can say or do to stop em. I begged him at one point during the hours long beating "please please, why don't you just shoot me?" His answer? "I didn't bring my gun b*tch!" then the next punch knocked me clean out. Woke up to police going through my apartment, I'm naked (he told me to get naked earlier so "you don't try to run"), and the cops start questioning me and told me to get dressed and write a a statement (but I was too delirious and covered in blood) so the cops told me to come down to the police station in a few days to write a statement. Well, I never did and didn't testify (a hit had been put out on me to make SURE I didn't "snitch"). Dude was looking at 35yrs in prison but because I didn't (really couldn't cooperate) the guy got 52 days in jail. He died not 2yrs later from a drug overdose.
The vast majority of people are incapable of being so horrinble. That's why there are shows about it, because it's rare to be so messed up. If watching this really twists your worldview that much, it might be worth taking a sanity break. It'll still be here when you come back.
Kates shelf of medications made me feel even more for her, that was so much for one person. It really doesn't pay to help people some times. R.I.P Kate, you beautiful soul, too good for this world.

Sad story. To have been victimized as a child and spend her life coping with it, only for it to ultimately be cut short, victimized by people who were supposed to be friends.
I had to look up the whole 'taking blood from a 6 year old' thing. Like why would she even do that. It apparently happened here in PA, not far from me. And there is no answer to the why, except she was posing as a doctor. I'm once again angered at law enforcement brushing off a suspicious disappearance of a young woman . Once again the family had to solve it. She didn't have her meds, anything she needed really, there was a forged check involved, but LE thought she went willingly and it wasn't suspicious!?!

I once dated a criminal unknowingly but did accidentally store stolen goods. I was let go basically because I wore a sundress that I made myself & mentioned, I was living in CA at 19 but lived in Montana til then. I met other people who had the same situation & did hard time. I looked naïve & they never did any real investigating, just let me go. I was also accidentally part of a drug trafficking ring & I’m still shocked nothing ever came of that but it was all blonde girls under 21, except I was recruited to rent them cars because I was 21 - diff rules in the early 90s - only I thought I was helping someone get their stuff moved out due to an abusive relationship (I mean, I was naïve for real but I still should have been investigated more, clearly I kept doing crimes even without knowing! I kind of was a danger to society…)

What I am wondering. She's just too trusting and gullible. But still I can't picture myself just going along when and if a RED FLAG and something just doesn't feels right. No one change my mind if my intuition tells me otherwise
I wouldn't say Kate is exactly a normal adult to be able to properly judge others. since she is on so many meds and has a lot of baggage from childhood... meds don't get rid of that. And that in turn makes you vulnerable to liars and manipulators... Travelling alone does not make that better.
He was probably her dealer, both of them were most likely and she went there to cop some dope or whatever. Isn't lovely referring to Coke? I've heard ppl call it "girl" b4. Ah well, still a very sad story nonetheless. Nobody deserves to die like that. Hope they both ROT.
Without the wealth and connections of Kate's family and vigilance of the PIs, this would have turned into a decades long cold case .The most heartbreaking one being Tara Calico whose parents died without finding their daughter
I can’t help thinking about the emptiness that Kates family would feel 24/7 - we all cherish our kiddoes having compassion but… we can’t teach them where to draw the line. 💔

I looked into her family, and apparently they were a family that owned Plantations in the area and were long time slavers. No wonder Mike stopped at “daughter of the south. A rich family in the area going back generations”. Ironic that a black man got her. Very sad.
Ethan was even more gullible. Not that it's an excuse. I kinda want to give Kate a pass for being tricked if she had known Ethan a while. Ethan engaged in more betrayal...and tried to cash a cheque on his future wife's behalf. The one that tried to put the whole thing on him while pretending she didn't have 10 times the motive. Gullible should have Ethan's mugshot next to it in the dictionary. The "Does he know?" Meme comes up in regards to the fact she was cheating on him AFTER he allegedly killed his old friend for her. Or at least helped. Rather, Kate just put her faith in the wrong people. Though thinking that this scammer could actually be a paediatric doctor...is a little gullible. I'll give you that.

Anyone who claims to have such an important job or that they are related to royalty needs the side eye. I am always suspicious when someone makes such grandiose claims during casual chitchat. In my experience, people with real credentials only talk about them when they are interviewing for jobs or when they are asked for them.
That's when the flat sarcastic 'uh huh' tumbles out...

Kate was too good hearted for her own good, unfortunately.

I have such a hard time knowing there's so so many people capable of doing such horrible things and they are living amongst us
It’s not as many as it seems from media. All the not horrible monster people don’t make the news as much.
