These guard shacks and receiving departments really do get the bottom of the barrel of people when it comes hiring someone with the bare minimum of social skills required to hand you paperwork and tell you where to drop a trailer. I think every driver has at least 1 location that they absolutely dread going to for this very reason because you’re always getting your limited time trifled with by the likes of people who get paid hourly and don’t give a shit. Nothing against people who get paid for their time rather than how they perform but when I was hourly there was never a dull moment but it seems like the very second I got into an industry that paid me based on my performance every interaction I have at the mercy of another humans whims it seems like the world can’t get enough of my time to waste.
I have encountered so many people that put the least effort needed to complete the job. Historically, drivers are treated like crap for whatever reason; I call it the grinder - the industry grinds up a large percentage of drivers every year.

I do Ford runs. Ford in Chicago it's much worse. I was in the same situation trying to get paperwork. They were giving me the runaround for hours saying they can't get the paperwork. Finally I said I have $20 cash if you can help me get the paperwork. It was in my hands in 30 seconds. Some people are just sick they want to ruin your day

BBBROOOO.... I had the SAME thing happen when I was with Hirschbach on AWG account in St Cloud MN. AWG warehouse guy had my envelope RIGHT INSIDE the window, and he wasn't checking. Crazy thing is our own Hirschbach dispatchers were in the same building, but it was a midnight dispatch, so they weren't there (they were only in during the day, it was still relatively new account when I was on it). I pushed my 14 hour that day cuz I ended up leaving roughly 2 hours late after I asked a different person at the window to go through all of the envelopes. I was pissed to say the least...

FLOOR TOWELS. I keep Towels on my floor . You know like hand towels like truck stops have gettin outta shower 🚿 either buy towels to match my truck or black or gray. I have about 6 of them. They get dirty and just pull them out and flop them out and lay them back down it keeps all the dust & dirt from flyin around in the cab, on dash , helps with the cabin filter not gettin clogged up as quick. You should get out of that truck and do what I do. Make just as much or more money with almost 0 expenses. Work Monday through Friday 8 to 4 or so. I used to be trapped in the trucking world until I got super blessed one day

Im giessing it will long term, i bet she will be super passive agressive and f with you a lil, but im guessiing she will actually work for you next time as she knows your gonna let the world know when She drops the ball. They held you and your truck up a whole day, a full 10 hour's. Actually, her lazyness realistically cost you/hirchbach/tyson probably at least a few thousand $$$!!!
