Please let me know what you think about my reaction to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan musician from Pakistan, sorry I mistakenly said he’s from India in my video.
in my opinion the nasality u r talking about is misplaced in the context of hindi or urdu language songs. in the words ‘aafareen’ and ‘nahin’ the ending letter ‘n’ is nasal and silent. like when u say ‘sing’ the ‘i’ in this word is nasal
He was basically hitting raw music notes! "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ne Sa" translates to "Do Re Me Fa So La Te Do". He's hitting those notes with the utmost accuracy!
At the end of the songs, it is same like jazz scatting but in very complex and advance way He is not just saying random words These are actually combination of notes he is singing (sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa) Same like (do re mi fa so la)
This isn't random words if you have trained eras then u will know they are raw music notes he is hitting with pin point accuracy . About the instruments they r following him it's like complex BPM machine which keeps getting 2 Times faster with the singer.
rajdeep saha Yes they are not random words. He hits the notes with accuracy and precision and over time he has built a good muscle memory to be able to do that. Even though I don’t understand the language I can relate to what he’s doing and I can also feel the music in my bone.
The nasality in indian or any indian subcontinent singing is because of the language. The language contain many words which you cant pronounce without nasality.
Yes it is language barrier because we 11 vowels and 33 consonants. Total 52 alphabets and to produce their sound frequency you need breath control, chest, vocal cord muscles, all upper and lower , back and forth side of mouth, tongue, lips ,teethes and sometime for specific sound nasal also mixed, without that you cant pronounce some words. like Hum sound and M sound should not be pronounced by lips instead mouth should be closed and it should resonate within your mouth. Resonance goes up to brain and air released slowly from nasal. You have listened famous Hindu chant "Om". Pronouncing this single word affects various part of brain in a good sense. see any video how to pronounce "Om" sound. Then you will understand we don't have such concept voice like chest or head voice. We are suppose to sing in sitting position with cross legs and straight, which is opposite to your culture. So classical singers in Indian subcontinent focus on their breath control and accurate pronunciation of notes in all registers or octaves using their vocal cord and different part of mouth. So training starts from early age like 3-10 years then it takes at least 15-20 years to work and understand Indian classical musical framework then with experience comes more richness, dynamism and creativity. So its never understanding process. It has been made absolutely to deliver emotion accurately to all listeners, Emotion is composed of words used in poetry, music with sound classical foundation and creativity (melody with selected beautiful notes in order), good music with singer from same same classical foundation. The singer and instruments in sync deliver emotions and takes listener into higher dimension like meditative state. You will never see in classical singing concert people making noises or dancing. They just sit in absolute silence and emerge in music.
Enjoyed this reaction a lot. Please react to Atif Aslam's songs. For starters I would recommend Tajdar e Haram. I believe you'll enjoy his voice very much
@A Y Museek this reaction was great, I appreciate your honest reviews. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a musical genius, a true successor of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. You should react more to his songs. Songs like 'Tumhe dillagi bhul jani padegi', 'Yeh jo halka halka suroor hai' or 'Mai tenu samjhawan' would be great. Rahat sir's voice is a treat to the ears. Please listen more of his songs❤️
