These songs are so good. I have them on loop so often
it took me a couple times to be able to really hear what you two were saying at times, but this song is so catchy and i just went into intense idea mode- sans singing with the yellow and cyan soul , at first with them all together, alive, then the next time their souls are fused together like in that one comic/au , and the last part is them kind of sing fighting with each other while just in sans's body .

I have a theory for the song- (I was bored so I made this)
So the one who is singing on how to write a song (Melt) is alone and has voices in their head, the 'toy piano' is a metaphor for being alone like I said, and the line "Focus on the sound I hear outside
. Then what I can hear, in my mind" Is the line for remembering who they were with. And the voices they hear in their mind is the subconscious. The voice in their head (Chance) is telling them the lyrics, "The choices that you make are crazy
. Who are you talking to? Aren't you alone?". The choices could be many things. And you know the singer in their head (Chance), is the subconscious trying to snap them back in reality, saying things like the second and third line.
And when the singer (Melt) is snapped back in reality, they realize that they are alone, and are overwhelmed with the silence, and they try to have no silence, because there is no time for silence. The line, "How about there is fire, and if the world ends". Meaning that they (because this is Undertale lol) have suffered a genocide run without any chance of reset. And the lyrics that go like, "Listen, some melodies haunt me." Is knowing everyone is dead, and when they eventually embrace the fact that they are alone, "I've learned to play them on piano
, I don't need to fear, 'cause they're my own". Is the singer meaning that they know it is okay, and that even though they're the last one alive, they, themself, are still alive. And their 'toy piano' is no more because of their friends' memories with them.
In the end, they are never truly alone, since they still have memories of their friends with them.
(Moral of the story, if you are alone, just think of happy memories and you'll never really feel alone because you are remembering happy times. And if you're struggling, you can reach out for help.)
