This video actually just helped me save at least 50eur... had a broken wire right at the motor, so instead of new trimmer I fixed it at an approximate cost of 10cents (flux & solder) :)
Thank you very much. I opened it up with only a few complications, mainly the locking clips, but the hair clipper oil did the trick. My motor was loose with both red and black cables detached. It was fairly easy to strip them and re-solder them back onto the motor.
Thanks! I was able to fix mine. Had a broken negative/black wire near the motor contact...
Thanks for this video! Without it I would still be struggling to find out how to disassemble this trimmer without breaking it. In my case it was the red wire that’s got cut, a quick solder of the cable got it back to life.
Very helpful, thanks a lot! I also (like babelhoo below) had a shaky connection where the red red wire is soldered to the motor terminal (how in the heck that could happen). Where the video says wiggle, twist and pull out was the hardest part for me. I was almost sure I would break something with the force I had to use. You show directly afterwards the locking clips that were holding it - could there be any way to release these before pulling? Perhaps the service shop has a too for this purpose. In my opinion there should be a special place in hell for people who design products to make them near impossible to repair - don't know how they can sleep at night!
Thanks man!!! i was really troubled by dissasembling this one, couldnt figure it out.
what screw driver are you using?
Great job thanks , I got my issue solved
I have an MG5750. I do not think it can be opened. It is a clamshell design. I could not get the lower silver part off. So there is no way to fully open the two black parts. Also the parts in inside are attached to the shell, so they don't slider out like other models.
OK so the top trimmer part just pulls up and off. I never knew that, I guess it pays to read the manual. OK so figured that out. I have the same style clip on there, but it does not have the 2 screws and I can't see how to get it out. Note the white plastic part will just slide up and off. Not sure if he shows that.
Perfect- Thank you for posting this.
Great video
Thank you
The screws of my trimmer is beaten up i can't open it. Is there anything i can do?
In my case, they are torx screws and not Philips screws. Could that be the issue? If you are using a regular Philips screwdriver, you won’t be able to remove the screws.
