Here's the final version of the tier list, that the video missed in case you're interested. Thank you for watching!! twitter.com/marvelo_vs/status/1585695103452053551?s=20&t=sgBKUwOrGqA5wxiA8irJXw
Chipp's bad MUs are just 2K's tbh
I love this character to death man, but I def agree on the stressful and volatile part. I think the reason everyone agrees he's top tier but you rarely see him in top 8's is because it is so hard to play a whole tournament and never run into someone who doesn't just guess right and explodes you.
Chipp-Lo: "I'm bleeding, making me the victor"
Hoping Potemkin gets some love soon. I had way more fun with the game after switching to him, but the struggle is real.
Mega fist being negative on hit, a 8f 2p, no reversals on defense, side head -> Kara hammerfall cancel is WAY too tight, goofy ahh angled neutrals with bozo hurt boxes, hammerfall losing to grab and 6p. Just to name a few
@@jordanreyna8744 mega fist being negative on hit is like a practical joke
Yall heard it here first. Ky is high skill.
Is he wrong
@@BrokeNSings yes
He’s right
I played anji but around the start of season 2 I gradually switched to nago and it isn't even funny how hard I got carried. Granted there was some matchup knowledge that carried over from having played anji for so long but it was still crazy. Especially the times when I just got that random hit into deleting their entire health bar.
have been playing for a month, picked Nago cause his design was fucking sick and can confirm that I rob people way better than me consistently
Is there a link to that doc in the video anywhere? Just curious to look at it alongside.
I wouldn't say Pot has great neutral. Yeah his normals are long like 5h and 6h but they have a lot of startup and a lot of recovery and he doesn't even get anything off it unless he gets a CH. Slidehead is almost 60 frames from start to finish making it pretty easy to punish if you just jump over it. Backwards megafist and kara are good sure but forward megafist is almost useless outside of combos. Honestly I'd be fine with all that if they just made his P buttons not trash and maybe make the execution on his combos not as tight. Even FAB and Snake Eyez regularly drop combos due to the high execution required to pull them off.
Let’s not forget his 4 active frames Cs that’s 8f….the same as his 2P. Wtf……
i think hc 5d is harder to block cuz when ur blocking him you have to pay attention to the reticle and his resource its just too much mental stack
Got to respect the totsugeki love the fact you like May theme
I'd switch May and Goldlewis, but otherwise I'm in complete agreement. Nice.
Agreed
Happy Chaos reminds me of those shark gummies
mfw i find out i’m carried and losing a majority of my games anyway💀
I feel called out
Im gonna send the clip of you saying Ky is just fair to all my homies LOL
Zansei Rouga is the best move in the game and we’re not ready to have that discussion
I don’t know about risky offense with chipp 😅 that seems what makes him consistent af
Not risky at all
??? chipps offense carries some of the most risk in the game. Obviously this changes with positive bonus but classic chipp pressure requires you to take objective risks (alpha, gamma, and 6K can be mashed on for huge, bone crushing damage). Not to mention getting boned on risk-reward. Gets bursted easily bc he needs to stay on top of you. He only gets safe mix when his opponent has made a mistake previously.
Ehh idk you can just frame trap like 5 times from 5k5k 2k2d rekka rekka, into follows ups like 6p and 2d that can rps for easy pressure resets and any one of those instead of frame trap you can just vary timing or go for a grab or reset the pressure and with meter it’s even worse
@@limland2255 thats just mindgames, every character can delay gatling to get you to press, the string you mentioned ends with rekka 2 which is -6 (punishable by errybody if you dont space it nicely) and idk what ur tryina get at with the run up throw thing, run up throw is an inherent risk and if you get mashed on then bye bye chipp into pressure, whereas if you get the throw its like 10% life into pressure. Chipps strengths are not the strength of his options, but rather the variety of them. Chipp feels so overwhelming bc he can represent like 5 options simultaneously, but if you read any of them even once then that could be the whole round. He has that reverse volatility.
yea he still has the best version of that pressure in the game, bean washes everyone with that shit, not that volatile if he is winning everything based on people respecting the offense. Bean wins by his stagger pressure. Good pressure that is insanely safe when compared to the rest of the cast.
playing chipp be like, damn straight i mixed you EIGHT times and you guessed wrong every time and lost for it. but it also be like damn i guessed wrong twice and now im dead
As a Ky main. For some reason I have a harder time fighting characters below him on this tier list. Maybe it's because I don't come across those characters as often 😅
The Gold Lewis match up is aids.
More people play the top tiers, while character specialists play the lower tiers, so the more specialised players know the Ky matchup better.
Just nerf hp nago and everything is be okay
I'd actually say the leo and ram are even vs sol
I thick HC’s difficulty should be mentioned as a con
It’s input difficulty not really character difficulty so I would it just makes him hard to learn and drops combos a bit more online
I would agree it should be mentioned. At highest levels it doesn't matter but there is a reason why HC isn't everywhere all the time even in tournaments.
the Pot - Chipp matchup is 10-0 for both characters
Pot: mobility sucks. True if you're not kara canceling like a mad man. I strap two sticks of butter to my feet every time I log in.
what is kara canceling?
@@jorian10 It's basically cancelling from one move into another during the start-up of the first move, being used primarily to add extra momentum to moves or to get them to come out faster. Some common examples in Strive are Pot cancelling 6K into either Mega Fist (how you'll sometimes see Pot doing these weird in-place Mega Fists) or Pot Buster (can grab you from round start range), and Bridget cancelling Kickstart/Scooter/Skates/whatever you wanna call the move into the wallbreak super (acting out of scooter before the move finishes, making it essentially just a really fast dash).
@@jorian10 What Qrivan said. Most characters have some form of canceling for momentum. You can loop garuda for example infinitely against an opponent in faultless defense. The push back doesn't work against butter feet.
@@lessonman_3961 Yeah, but Garuda into kara-Garuda is unsafe as there's a big enough gap for the opponent to mash
@@vanjagalovic3621 the trick is to stay at tip range of garuda so longer normals on dps won't work. Normally the best way out is to jump garuda into garuda. If pot has meter to cancel into 6p, heat knuckle, or jump throw, it's still pot's turn. You need to guess or react to the prc mix if to escape.
Horrible tier list. How dare you claim that I'm not carried by May. 😤
Kinda sad sol is bad now used to play him since XX
I'm definitely a month late here in this comment section, but I'd like to point out on something:
As Sol, never, ever use Volcanic Viper, UNLESS you either have your burst meter up, or half of your tension bar filled up, or both.
Man i get smoked by gio all the time, and i main ky.
ive played nago a ton and ill still go 40 to 0 if i play a guy whos at the same skill level as me but just plays nago lmao
We have the worst 6p lmao
I like this tier list. He says he's going to talk shit about Potemkin then talks about how every move is pretty good.
@@lessonman_3961 lmfao 🤣
Goldlewis loses to Baiken.
Whenever u evaluate Sin pls put "cute as a button" as one of his pros
im glad ppl think sol is weak now.
I think he's just average in a game where being average isn't good enough
@@DragynFyre12 sol is as strong as the player is. Been that way for 20 years
