Watch the full documentary, "The Wreck of the Broker: The Woodbridge Train Disaster of 1951" on @PartTimeExplorer • The Wreck of the Broke...
Why is every engineering disaster preceded by "And due to someone else messing up, we had to cram twice as many people in."
Because time is money, which means cutting corners instead of accepting a small loss, sadly.
Unfortunate but most companies value money more than anything, sadly despite these occurrences not much has truly changed in todays society either.
It saddens me too, because no one could've predicted this accident except for the George Chadwick and the superiors who were notified, all the passengers and even possibly the crew of the engine were none the wiser to what was about to happen.
The ultimate irony is the losses in wrecks like this often greatly exceed that of the profits they would've made if nothing went wrong, because of their greed for more money they took a poorly placed gamble and now many people suffer alongside the company's profits and repuation.
As the saying goes "Everything will go wrong at the worst possible time"
If the other company had paid their employees what they were worth, the Broker may not have even left the tracks that night.
It always takes a chain of critical events to lead up to a disaster such as this, I suppose. No one thing is responsible, but one or maybe two corporations most often are.
@@thedemolitionmuniciple "No one thing is responsible, but one or maybe two corporations most often are." kind of sums up the entire past 200 years and probably future 100 years of human history
Wow, really well done. Perfect sfx as well and I appreciate you not talking over the video. It gives the whole event an ambience like you’re actually there.
The Damage effects were Spotless
I hope to see more rail documentaries from you guys in the future.
This animation is so beautiful. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of time it took to make this but good god it looks so good.
The steam exhaust sounds are of by quite a bit. You should hear the exhaust four times per revolution. For slow moving it was too fast, and for fast moving too slow. But that is just railroader details. Other than that the visuals are perfect! You even included some small details on both the cars and the loco! Great Work!
Edit: My bad. One time it was the compressor.
Literally when I was watching this I was like, "Hm, the chuffs are a bit slow."
This animation is just perfect, well done.
Interesting video!! Thanks for the time to put it together!👍👍👍
The documentary was absolutely amazing 👍
Have you all noticed that its usually the tender that gives way first in these types of incidence?
Old tender. There's supposed to be a mechanism designed to prevent issues like water from sloshing around.
@@GeneralLiuofBoston1911 Yes, kinda like how tankers have panels built into their structure, called Porous baffles. They helped stabilize liquid.
@@GeneralLiuofBoston1911 That's not what caused this, though. That style of tender DID have baffles. it was poor maintenance and the fact the PRR didn't have a signal light out there to warn of the upcoming construction site and temporary track.
Unluckily everyone was hurt
Lol
0:12 that compressor be working working overtime with no train. must have just dumped the main reservoir
That was an awesome animation!! It gave me anxiety for real! How is this all 1's and 0's?
Chilling and incredible
Repeat; the engineer was looking for a lantern signal, that would denote the work sight! That was done from the Jersey Central rulebook, the PRR,had no equivalent! Add the bad weather and low visibility,it was sort of inevitable! See Shaw's book on railroad accidents,as it has the ICC accident report, and aftermath! Great animation and had some data, that I didn't know! Thank you 😇 😊!
this feels like it reminds me of another channel in the type of content, fascinating
Damn this is really good, deserves way more views!
“Luckily, no one was hurt”
I'm suprised this wreck wasn't adapted into a Thomas Story...
This animation is fucking amazing
How did you get K&L Trainz models into Unreal Engine? I'm curious, plus it makes the sets and models so real.
Steve posted the details about it on his facebook Page
Dude the animation is soo good!! But what happed to the engine after that?? Was it repaired?? Or later scraped??
If you put the crash sequence in to 2x speed it sounds a lot more interesting
I would love to watch a real time version
i love trains. great work
Great video! Would love to see more railway disasters! What was your source for info on the disaster ?
These are excerpts from a larger documentary covering the crash, the factors leading up to it, and the aftermath in the community.
Is this filmed in Trainz22???
(I really liked the film, thank-you you for sharing this!)
Good animation, thanks!
Was the railway electrified in the 1950s?
oh wow,I really thought this was Railroad Tycoon 3 at the moment
My only nitpick is the unrealistic timing of the chuffs that don't really match the running gear in the beginning but this is a stunning visual work
might be the air pump you're hearing
This is amazing. What program did you use?
The tender is falling apart.
It is ok. 😢
I legit thought this said “the wreck of the animator”
Would it be at all alright if I were to use a portion of this video for one of my videos that I am working on? Don't worry, I will give you credit.
Do the malbone Street wreck
Holy cow... lm speechless.
I feel this video should make me sad, but it doesn't. It has me grinning from ear to ear over how good the video looks.
Amazing job on the animation, and the quality!!
i love the souddesign
Cool
The driver was in total error. Going much too fast for conditions
Is that one of 1361's sisters?
Famous wreck
Im not sure about some of the sparks here, i know it can happen but im not sure
Most of the time the passenger car wheels don't just lock up
The engineer
Woow😮
That locomotive reminds of Hank from Thomas the Tank Engine.
Get yo TTTE fandom out of here, you've entered American soil now
That's probably because Hank was based on the PRR K4s
Pixar has nothing on this guy
How about Casey Jones 😅
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
This animation
Super underated
Well done 👏👏👏
