Played Pacific Dunes a few days ago and the highlight of my trip was a birdie on #17. With the wind behind us, I hit an iron that landed on right side of green. The ball slowly rolled about 30-40 feet left and time stood still while our foursome watched thinking it might go in the hole. The ball went right past the pin and finished 4-5 feet away. I was very fortunate to make the putt. Adding to the excitement, one of my playing partners also birdied the hole right before me. His tee shot was long and he trickled in a 20-30 foot downhill putt which was insane. Celebration ensued and I out came the birdie juice whiskey flask. I’ll never forget that experience!

That last line, “no golf course is perfect, but Pacific Dunes is as close as I’ll ever get” could not be more true. Absolutely a gem of a course that never stops delighting. On my return trip to Bandon I’ll likely play this course every single day.

Bandon is the best golf resort. Period.

Amazing video. Love the architects narration.

Played this past Monday and I'm still thinking about it. What a great course !

Im still relatively new to Golf, but I have an uncle, who's a big-time golfer. He goes to Bandon every other year with his brothers and golfs all 5 courses. I hope one day to get there too. It's America's love letter to the old links courses of Great Britain.

I think this is what heaven looks like

Played this course more than your average golfer. Over 50 times easily. Walking up to hole 3 tee box never gets old. It is one of the most spectacular sites ( and hole) to enjoy that golf has to offer. So many great holes on this course you would have to nitpick to determine which was not. My favorites are 3, 5, 7, 11,13, 14, and 17. I'd marry those holes, but even so seriously date the others...

Been looking at golf course photography and reading about Bandon for years. March 28, I will walk those fairways for the first time. I can’t wait.

This is the single greatest course I have ever played on. It plays slow but can you blame anyone for the view it gives you?

Just crazy, amazingly good. Every course there. Hard to convey to those who have not been there, but this video does a great job of it....

Tom Doak also designed Barnbougle Dunes in Tasmania. Playing there in 3 weeks and this course looks somewhat similar. Cant wait.

@golfdigest we’ve got one of these coming this summer for The Old Course, right? We all know it, but still :-)
