    I left a cult as well. I didn’t know it was a cult. I was so blinded by my desire to serve God and be counted as his child. I am so thankful God opened my eyes to see where I was. I was there for 17 years , from my late 20’s till my mid 40’s. It caused me all kinds of anxiety and depression to be subject to that kind of pressure and to be told constantly you are not good enough, no matter what you do. The worse part was that those people became my support and my family and I truly care for them. None of them will speak to me now since I left. They thing I’m a traitor and I don’t even know what the leaders told the congregation about me and why I left. But I love God and I am still a Christian, I just would never let anyone oppress me again.

      So many different types of pain caused by Neville. Phil won't ever see any of his grandchildren that Dawn or Cherish have but on the other side of the coin Sandy won't really get to know any grandchildren from any of her other children either. Neville has a lot to answer for but he seemed to enjoy the destruction he wrought on a son that stood up to him

    That's one pathetic mother, abandoning her children, to live in the cult. She's not afraid of god, she's afraid of death. She's one mother that would never die for her children, nor live for them, thus not a mother at all. I pity her, she's a sad, hollow person, no loss for those kids, they deserve so much more.

    • @cherrytraveller5915
      @cherrytraveller5915 Год назад

      I wouldn’t feel too much sympathy for her. She had a child after she went back and participated in keeping that child away from her father. She also told her children she wished they had never been born

  • @karenb9656
    @karenb9656 9 лет назад +390

    I think he knows he is doing wrong to those people and children. He avoids answering the questions and says "let them think what they like!" Which is a defence mechanism and also a refusal to answer the questions, in other words he deflects the question to "them!" In saying "let them think etc etc..." Also when ever he is asked about a his behaviour he pretends to nearly cry, putting on some crocodile tears which are clearly forced. You'll notice his voice get high pitched and it has a "poor me!" Tone to it.
    He is clearly narcissistic and psychopathic. This type of person believes in their own lies but also know fully that they are doing something wrong. In other words they know it's wrong and if they saw anyone else doing it they would be the first to say how wrong it it but because they see themselves as above everyone else, if they do it then that's ok because they are above the wrong!
    This is why he can't give answers that are straight forward because he is aware that the act is wrong but his defence of poor me is his narcissistic self belief of "I mean well so I'm doing something good, it's awful that you accuse me of these wrong doings!!!"
    He is one fruit loop!

      Cult leaders prey on trust and the innocent. They TWIST the Bible to fit their beliefs. The cult leader where I was knew things--conversations hours away. She just seemed to have that ability--yet I was reminded after I and a friend escaped in Jan. 2010, that the devil also has certain kinds of knowledge like that. My friend and I caught the cult leader lying and not giving people their property back. That was all after 13 years or so had gone by. Then it's like the mask came off and she became MEAN and HATEFUL. And threatening. Our lives had become endangered.

      It never works out in fundamentalist religious groups period. All have super high rates of domestic violence, sexual assaults and child abuse of all kinds.
      It stems from severe gender constructs that place men above women (and thereby take away their autonomy over their lives and their bodies) and combine an obsession with sex with strict sexual repression.

    If you grow up in one of these cults, your life is almost sealed to remain in that lifestyle till you die. You will believe that it's "God's will" and allow yourself to be controlled by others. A cult leader will live your life for you. I should know. I was part of such a cult. I managed to break from it but my wife deserted me and remained there. She died of cancer only 3 years after deserting me. Karma has a way of repaying people who do such evil things.

    If it weren't for the sexual abuse this lifestyle wouldn't be so bad. The problem is that a lot of times the leaders of these groups are disgusting perverts. If he genuinely loved the lord and wanted to help people to live a life that is pleasing to God it would be a wonderful place to live. As for the children working at a young age this was commonly practiced in biblical times. Young boys would work very closely with their fathers and young girls with their mothers. This bonds families together and teach children responsibility. We need more of this mentality today. I do agree with a lifestyle void of worldly distractions and absent of pagan practices. Such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween etc.

      The origins of Christmas comes from Ancient Babylonian pagan celebration of Nimrod. From the tree, to the Yule logs, the lights and the mistletoe to the giving of gifts etc..... Have a conversation with a Pastor or Minister and ask them about these rituals that their Church partake in. Then watch them get angry and give you all the excuses under the sun that they are celebrating the birth of our Messiah. The truth certainty does divide the wheat from the tares. The truth that some Christians too can't handle.

      God (Who is alive and well) gave us His Word (the Bible) as His love letter to us and His instruction manual to all mankind. He didn't just create man and then leave him to flounder around wondering how life should be lived. God put in His Word His laws, testimonies, precepts, commandments, judgments, statutes, rules, guidelines, ways, and boundaries. He has done this out of love to protect and guide us. His word says:
      "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." (Psalm 14:1)
      "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good." (Psalm 53:1)
      "But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:33)
      God has given you a free will, and you can use that free will to hard-heartedly shake your fist and say, "There is no God." Or, you can use your free will to seek Him.
      "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)
      "Seek ye the Lord while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteousness man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon." (Isaiah 55:6-7)
