Thank you for sharing information that will help not only collectors, but, those of us who are planning to be sellers of our coinage in hope of gaining wealth enough to live a better quality of life! One of the best pieces of advice you gave, was tell your viewers to slow down and "enjoy the hobby"! Keep doing what you do and know this, as far as I am concerned you are a qualified "Numismatist" right now! Again, Thanks you, Appreciative, Domer Williams! Live life well and enjoy yourself!
There's only one nickel between 1942 - 1945 that isn't a silver war nickel; that's the 1942 - D. The other ELEVEN nickels made at the three mints during those years are 35% SILVER war nickels. I see someone already said something about the 1943 - D being the lowest mintage war nickel. Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication putting these videos together, Shaun. I watch every one, week after week. You're keeping our great hobby alive and well. Thank you!
You kind of referred to it as a "beginner's" video, but I've been a collector off and on for 30 years and still learned things from it, so thank you! Looking forward to more of these.
Shaun, you sir are a wealth of information. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and passion. There is so much to be learned in your videos. I can only imagine the massive amount of time and effort put into the further education of the general public. And to your family thank you for surly helping to make it possible for this man to share himself. Rick in Pantano, AZ. yes the ghost town.
Thanks for this video, I'm a newbie. Have always had a interest and saved older or different coins just for my own personal fun but now that my kids are grown I've taken it to the next level and having fun learning! I didn't realize the magnitude of coin collecting and all it entails. Learning a lot thank you again laurie
I sold one about months ago. But wish I had it back. After discovering the dark ones could be a precious foreign coin, but now i found Lincoln’s with same markings.
In the west when they had the gold rush, there was a common way to rip people off. They would take the V- Nickel and plate it to look like a $5 gold coin and buy something cheap to get the change for a gold coin and than move on.I have ONE of these and I wonder what it could be worth.
Excellent information... I have the books mentioned in the video and combined with your channel they have both been helpful. Based on your review I paused on a grab bag purchase and decided to try out my bank first...let's see what happens...
Is there a way to compile a list of non fs sales of1938 and up.Finding fs nickels is always fantastic but rare for polder coins. Thanks for refresher courses.Always very helpful.
Hey SilverHound, as alwauys, new or old to collecting, You always bring something to the table that is useful and helpful to this Novice ! Thank you.....
Hey Mr. Blueridgesilverhound, love the videos, very informative. I’m new to coin collecting. Did some research on nickels minted between 1968 through 1970. And I found that there were no nickels and Kennedy’s minted at the Philadelphia mint in those years. I was wondering why was that? Thanks for any info you may have.
What if I had a very rare coin & it's not in most best shape as in has a couple of scratches a 1964 pure silver half dollar Kennedy coin is it worth getting graded ?
I understand that you discuss mostly silver coins varieties and errors but I, while listening to your RUclips videos...came across a Washington 1998 P DD Specifically the IGWT moto. Its not the prettiest Washington I've ever seen but the DD definitely has received my full attention. What should I do to protect it and possibly sell it?
Awesome video. Regarding coin roll hunting, in general, how do you go about ordering a full box of coin rolls? Is it frowned upon by the banks? Are there extra fees associated with ordering full boxes? Then, when I'm done searching, do you recommend re-rolling the coins, or just putting them into the change counters (and, what does that cost?)? Thanks!!
Good video, but you didn’t mention the improperly annealed planchets of the fifties and the special 1975 misplaced D mint mark!! Please do another video on the above.
Blue ridge I just found an unusual nickel coin rol hunting. It’s a 1940 s with a Lincoln cent stamped on obverse. I’m new at this and would love it if I could send a pick.
Same here I'd like to k n o w if I can send you an picture of a coin for you to check out to see if you know of any other or do I have a one-of-a-kind?
I love your channel man thanks for all the help bro.. And for the war nickles the 1943 d is the lowest minted nickle with 15 million made not the 1944 s that is second lowest bro.
Just a quick question, if I may, is there any value left at all on coins with a hole put in them to wear on a necklace? They hung it on something, Im guessing it was a necklace. Thank for you for your time, and any replies. Im learning so much watching all these video's! Thank you! Blessings, Fran
I have a 2005 Denver nickle that has a light blue color on Jefferson's neck and around the date and some near the word cents. I think it could be chrome. I've never seen a nickle like that before. Could it of been accidentally released into circulation, and could it be worth anything?
I watched a vid of yours a while back. You said it wasn't easy for you to get 2017 pennies, I forget which mint but at the time, I was sorting a bunch of pennies. I would like to send you a roll as a thank you for your vids helping me so much. If you still want them because it's been a while since I saw video and now can't find it. Anyway, I would love to send them to you if you have a post office box. Thank You again for your amazing videos. They help more than you know.
Shaun I have a lot of error coins but I don't know what kind of errors to call them except for the DDO and DDR can you tell me where best to find the error so I can put a label to the ones I have. 😉
Hello Sean of the coins lol . Hey always nice to recap on the past rare key dates helps add more on my cheat list of coins thanks for the video and info . I don't know if I am missing them but what about a live stream 🤔 have a great week Buddy
You always hear not to clean your coins but can you wash in any way that doesn't take value away just to see details better, water or a lightly dampened cloth?
Thank you panzer, for the most part the coins I would like to get cleaned a little just to see details and verify there are no errors they are not coins i would have graded. I have some that I need to send in but I enjoy collecting more than anything else. Thanks again
It is of the least stressful hobbies for sure , this until you send them into gradiig services . At thst point after spending multiple hours comparing pictures in the price guides and auctions as well as watching how they are graded then sending your coins in to realiize your coins grade way lower than those pictures thst bring thousands. Even tho yours is flawlwss compared to the high dollar sales pictures . Then its not for a Beta type personality , and for sure not an Alpha with PTSD . Could get ugly . Just an observation 😉
Hay so i have been looking around the net and i found a coin last week the date is 1937 Jefferson have you ever hard of this and i can send you photos if you would like
I was hoping you could he;p me. I watch you for all of my information and came across an old trade dollar from Jacob Rehorn, Hastings, MI that has the hole in it and is good for 5 cents. Is this special in any way?
Alfred Uribe I know there is a site called star note look up or something where you just type in the numbers and it shows the rarity for that note. It's probably not rare but it may be worth something to a collector being very low mintage and only two different numbers. Especially if it's a star note and/or in good shape. I would definitely hold onto it in a safe place and research.
does anyone know about forien currecy i have pecence coins pound coins fifty pence elliziabeth ii 1913 coin 2011 twenty pence 1$ mexican 2016 piece1o$ pesos peice just curious to what this would be worth

Great for beginners. Did you do ones for other sets? 1c 10c etc..
I didn't know Verdigris happened on nickels from that era. Did they have copper, or brass in them? Because "VERDI"gris is a green patina.
1912 s is the most underrated 20th century coin. Imo
What a great and informative lesson on the nickel. Thank you
Thanks for the video.
