My experience and that of most people in Europe with people from China speaking English is that you have very hard times to understand them due to their accent.
This guy is awesome. Under appreciated and not understood enough. I swear, some people hear accents and just tune them out... If someone else was pitching his stuff. The audience would be a non stop gas. All the best Ronny!

Especially Asian accents. Everyone loves to make fun of Asians, even liberals.
He sounds like someone from Singapore/Kuala Lumpur who studied at an english school who mostly employed expat Australians (super common). It's one of the easiest asian accents to understand. People are just lazy.

Had the privilege of meeting Ronny on the set of Crazy Rich Asians in Singapore. I find him really inspiring. The roving piece he did in Chinatown in response to that awful Watter's World segment brought me to tears. Jiayou always Ronny.
Jedd the Jedi Oh you're not kidding. I wanted to reach through my tv screen and knock the crap out of Watters. I really loved Chieng's response piece on The Daily Show. ☺💛
When I first watched Watters' piece, I knew it was insulting and stupid, but Chieng's response made me realise how much damage it could do, and how it dismissed the Chinese-American community so flippantly. It was a piece about taking the time to understand what people think, instead of going for the cheapest, easiest joke and doubling down on that. I can't really explain why I found it as moving as I did.

Had the honor of meeting this man when he filmed "International Student" as I worked in the unilibrary where they filmed the pilot. So humble and kind, and such a funny dude. Genuinely excited about his success on the Daily Show and as a comedian

I literally just picked him up at the air port in Tucson AZ an took him to his hotel before he performs at the Rialto Theater tonight 9/14/18 pretty cool guy , polite and down to earth. 👍🏻
I was at that standup show in Somerville (Boston) after the election. What an ironic (or perfect?) time to have a comedy festival. Ronny made everybody fall over laughing even though it was the Friday after the election results were in and everybody just looked ready to pull their hair out. He had us all at the "WHAT THE F-CK HAPPENED, AMERICA?" and that was it. Everybody's attitude changed and it was probably one of the best stand-up sets I'd ever got to experience.
I got to meet him after the show: he's one of the most down-to-earth people I've ever met. He made it seem like everything (no matter how f-ed-up) would be okay. I don't think we'll ever be able to thank him enough.

I remember when the WristStrong bands came out! It was such a surprise to see that come up again. RC interviews well, but I prefer it when he's talking about how wrong something is. This is my favorite kind of comedy, he's really good at it!

I'm reading Crazy Rich Asians right now! It's the first book I've read in years because I had a very hard time finding a book to catch my interest (I'm either read it all in one sitting or read twenty pages and then never pick it up again, no in between) and I have to say, it is an amazing book and I'm excited to hear that the movie is so well done! Can't wait to see it after I finish the book!

Netflix actually offered $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for Crazy Rich Asians. But it was rejected because the producers wanted it to be released in Theaters.
