NIGEL YOUR THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!....i like the guitar licks and what he produces with delays..dude...im so encouraged to progress as a musician:) .........peace..............
@DanielMudaly7593 Nigel uses a variety of overdrive pedals and amps. He uses a sparkle drive, timmy, joyride, jekyll and hyde, etc. etc. he also uses a Vox AC30 and/or a Matchless Spitfire pretty frequently. Not sure what exactly he's using here, though.
you need to get the right pedal. a good delay pedal would give you the option to set your delay rhythm to eighth note delay, a dotted eighth delay, etc. you can play around with them to get a triplet feel, a sixteenth note delay, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
@jacobtfoster the reason you use an amp is because your guitar lacks a pre amp. some multi effects board have a pre amp in them, so you can run that directly into a d/i, but otherwise your going to need an amp to get the full sound from your guitar
i think he leaves an OD on all the time, i think at this point the sparkle drive. that drives the tube amps, meaning if you saturate the tubes enough you'll get "breakup", so you can really just hit the strings harder and you'll produce that overdriven sound. the amps are set up just its on the edge of breakup.
@jfs777sk8r The tab for the G#m (from the thick string first to the thinnest) is 404402 then B7 follows with 224452. The wah part is xx6444 followed by xx(11)999. The x's represent the strings you don't play. I hope this makes sense. If I was to tab out E major using the same notation it would be 022100 (from thickest string to thinnest).
hes playing b-sus, and then changing his index finger to give it a different bass sound, making it sound like the other chords so b: 024400 g#m: 4x4400 f#sus: 2x4400 e: 0x4400
can someone please tell me how he does the G#m and B at 2:40??? and the chords at 4:30 after the wah part?? and the intro? please!!!! im playing this song on sunday and i really need help
haha, me and the bassist at my church always play this after service.
