How could they be underrated? Some of their most expensive premium instruments. Now if you tell me the player is underrated, id agree. Its a great bass and no one ever talks about them bc they are cheap and no one expects much out of them.
I really want to invest in an American original jazz or precision. I own a Squier vintage modified 70s jazz bass(insanely underrated) and precision bass with the additional single coil in the bridge. These are wonderful instruments, but I just think it’s time to go for the American original series.

Sam, we don't have one here to A/B it. I think these American Originals have a nice blend of punch and warmth, and I LOVE these pickups! I remember wanting the Flea 61 to have more of the true stacked knob tone, however I really liked those basses. If I was taking $$ out of the equation - American Original all day for my tonal and playing preference - Anthony
I have the Flea 61 it’s incredible and such an Awesome tone, it’s built really well, this bass sounds great you can’t go wrong with either, I plan on getting this original one day too lol the Fender Geddy Lee American Jazz is another Incredible instrument.
The american pro ii in comparison to the original 60 leans towards a more "modern sound" instead of the vintage tone that the latter is aiming to achieve.
Totally agree that the American Original line is underrated

Totally underrated, but it’s worth investing on one. I’m totally happy with my 50, 60 Precision Basses and my 60, 70 Jazz Basses. It’s a great series.
is it nitro finish on them all? which ones are poly?
Computer Scientist all of the AO series is nitro
Pretty sure that’s the sonic blue finish, not the Olympic white.
You're right. Totally my mistake!!! - Anthony
Ok Karen
Bro. When he said it was white i doubted my sight for a sec lol
I was like god damn is this another dress thing?

Real great vid man, sold me on this one
Bought one after watching this video.
I'd like to see a Rickenbacker video
Love the tone. Was this straight out of the box or was it setup first?
How is this vs the blue 60s vintera...is the original that much better?
Sonic Blue
Is there a hum noise coming out whenever you’re not playing? Worried that some fender jazz pickups are said to be really noisy!
You can hear a little hum at 4:15. all true single coils hum a bit when soloed, you can try shielding or noiseless pickups
I hope to be taking that off your hands very soon here!😉
Done!!! 😄 So stoked!!!
How does this compare with the MIM Flea 61 Jazz?

Quick question please. Which jazz bass has the absolute smallest neck and not a lot of meat behind it? Thx. Bob
From Fender, I think the Geddy Lee and the Squier 70s jazz basses have the slimmest necks. The Sire basses are very slim as well.
Thanks
I really like it. However the single for coil hum is a turn off. But I guess it’s nothing a noise gate can’t take care of.
It's often the case with single coil pickups. A hum-reducer would be better than noise gate to eliminate it completely. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Please help me, this one or american pro ii?
The american pro ii in comparison to the original 60 leans towards a more "modern sound" instead of the vintage tone that the latter is aiming to achieve.
Is it just me or does anybody like the tone of the cheaper squier version better?
Sonic Blue
