Those are supplements... not medicine. Horlicks is just malt(wheat) and milk protein + sugar , with added vitamins and zinc; vitamins and zinc doesn't make you more healthy , it just keeps you healthy(normal level). there are no added benefits to it unless your kid is stubborn against eating vegetables....
Ensure is a protein supplement (it may also contain these vitamins and stuff) ; a person following a normal south indian non vegetarian diet has enough protein for function , so there isn't any need for supplementation .
in short , it's only beneficial if the person has a deficiency of the nutrients in their diet & there isn't any harm..

Brother keep in mind that supplements like these are not strictly regulated by authorities so we can't trust their claims in terms of their ingredients, effectiveness etc.
The adulteration mentioned by doctor in this video is also applicable for these supplement as well. So instead of opting Horlicks, boost and all,get a diet plan from a certified nutritionist and follow it. End of story

My daughter was having severe breathing problems. Many of the so called Alopathic doctors treated her without any relief. എനിക്ക് കിഡ്‌നിയിൽ കല്ലിന്റെ അസുഖം വന്നപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഒരു അലോപ്പതി ഡോക്ടറെ കണ്ടു. അദ്ദേഹം എനിക്ക് ഒരു ഇൻജെക്ഷൻ തന്നതിനുശേഷം കഴിക്കാൻ തന്നത് ആയുർവേദ ടാബ് ആയിരുന്നു. അത് കഴിച്ചതിനുശേഷം ഇപ്പോൾ കുഴപ്പം ഒന്നുമില്ല. ഇപ്പോൾഏഴു വർഷം ആയി.
ഒരു സംശയം: Dr ആദ്യം പറഞ്ഞു മഞ്ഞൾ ശരീരത്തിൽ Absorb ചെയ്യില്ല ഒരു ഗുണവും ഇല്ല എന്ന്. അൽപ്പം കഴിഞ്ഞ് പറഞ്ഞു മഞ്ഞൾ കഴിച്ച് ഗുരുതരമായ കരൾരോഗം ഉണ്ടായി എന്നും. Absorb ചെയ്യാത്ത ഗുണമില്ലാത്ത മഞ്ഞൾ കൊണ്ട് ഗുരുതര രോഗം?അതെങ്ങനെ?
ആയുര്‍വേദ മരുന്നുകള്‍ ദൂഷ്യ ഫലങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതെന്ന് പറയാന്‍ മാത്രം വിവരം ഇയാള്‍ക്കുണ്ടൊ...

ഈ ഡോക്ടറെ അനുകൂലിച്ച് ആഭിപ്രായമെഴുതിയവര്‍ ആത്മാര്‍ത്ഥതയോടെ അവരുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വീകരെ കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷിക്കണം . കാത്തിരിക്കാന്‍ നേരമില്ല അസുഖം പെട്ടെന്ന് മാറണം ...ഏതസുഖം വന്നാലും ഒരു ഡോക്ടറെ ഉടന്‍ കണ്ട് മരുന്ന് കഴിക്കണം..അല്ലെ....കോവിഡ് വന്നതിന് ശേഷം എന്തൊക്കെ അസുഖം വന്നു നമ്മളില്‍ എത്ര പേര് ഡോക്ടറെ കാണിച്ചു...ആരും തന്നെ കാണിച്ചിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് പറയുന്നതല്ലെ ശരി..(ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ തന്നെ പൂര്‍വ്വീകര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു തന്ന ആയുര്‍വേദ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ പെട്ട മരുന്നുകള്‍ മാത്രമായിരിക്കും)
ഇതേ അസുഖങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പ് എത്ര തവണ പ്രാവശ്യം ഡോക്ടറെ കാണിച്ച് മരുന്നുകള്‍ കഴിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മരുന്നുകള്‍ കഴിക്കാതത് കൊണ്ട് നമുക്കൊന്നും സംഭവിച്ചില്ലല്ലൊ. മുന്‍പ് ഇതേ അസുഖത്തിന് വെറുതെയാണ് മരുന്നു കഴിച്ചത് അല്ലെ...ചുരുക്കി പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ മരുന്നുകള്‍ കഴിക്കാതെ ദിനചര്യയിലൂടെ മാറാവുന്ന അസുഖത്തിനാണ് ഡോക്ടര്‍ മരുന്ന് തന്നത്...ഡോക്ടറുടെ മുന്നാലെത്തിയാല്‍ അദ്ദേഹം മരുന്നെഴുതും...അത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജീവിത മാര്‍ഗ്ഗമാണ്...

You said ayurvedic physicians only prescribing medicines from private ayurvedic companies and you questioned ayurveda science by this. Let me ask one thing ,then what is the allopathy doctors are doing ? They also prescribing medicines from different private company (lisensed) . The same thing only ayurveda doctors doing, they are prescribing GMP certified medicines only. GMP(Good manufacturing practice) rules and regulations are framed to maintain the anticipated quality in the manufacturing units and the marketed products ). Check those medicines are GMP certified or not ?. And in government ayurveda hospital , oushadi medicines only giving ( govt ayurveda pharmacy ).

The good thing with English medicines is that long term side effects are well documented, Doing an LFT and RFT on 3rd or 4th month regularly always helps us in check... We always have to consider the Risk vs Benefit ratio when taking a medicine, means how risky is that when someone don't take rosuva or glimi (chance of stroke, MI, DVT, renal diseases, liver diseases, neuropathy, vision problems and so and so) vs some taking these drugs... So always 100 percent better to take the above drugs for long term..
And to answer the question, yes there is a possibility when you take any drugs long term, the chances of affecting kidney or liver... From my experience, i have seen countless people taking these drugs for 20,30, 40 yrs and they are doing good...i havent seen people having liver or kidney issues by taking these, probably because they are asked to check their LFTs and RFTs routinely... If any derangements are found, then they will be asked to change their drugs depending on the results
In the present medicine practice there is nothing called 'allopathic medicine' . If you are taking it, good luck!!!

My grandfather had liver cirrhosis once. He never drunk alcohol, but he used this kind of Ayurvedic medicines a lot and the doctor said the same thing to grandmother. He passed away because of jaundice and some issues in the bone marrow when I was 6.

I am mild diabetic payient taking modern medicine, combination of metformin. I saw a study says the metformin is having negative side effect especially to hearts related. Can you clarify it.

@@josefran63 I asked my friend who is a doctor. He said that Metformin is the most widely prescribed medicine to diabetic patients to control the amount of glucose in their blood stream. He is not aware of any heart related side-effects of Metformin. The known major side-effect is lactic acidosis, which happens very rarely. You are good - Take medicine as prescribed by professional modern medicine practitioner, watch what you eat and exercise.

@@nikhilmohan1964 At present, their methodology is not acceptable. 'Vadapithakapha' concept is wrong. Many herbs contain several alkaloids and some of them are very useful for treating diseases. However, many of the ayurvedic medicines (kashayam, arishtam , etc) are like crude substances. Just imagine crude oil. From that we're isolating petrol, diesel, and many other chemicals. So if you take some ayurvedic medicines, you're depositing many other unwanted substances into your body. Definitely in future that will affect you. So the theory of zero side effects also invalid. But in allopathy, the methodology is entirely different. But I would like to specify that the doctors may not know how to synthesise these medicines (chemicals). He is just prescribing you based on the previous systematic trials. He's understanding your body's problem and helping you.
