⚡ / 🔴 🌙 "Going over thousands (of) nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love. Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!" - Akatsuki A Su-metal classic. 'Akatuski' was her first solo song with BABYMETAL. It was released on the 'Megitsune' single in June of 2013. She was probably 15 when she recorded it. This performance was from Black Night, the second of two sold out nights at Nippon Budokan on March 2nd, 2014. Guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura (pink guitar). Hideki Aoyama was on drums and BOH on bass. Su was 16 years old. She performed two other solo songs that night, 'Rondo of Nightmare' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow'. Yui and Moa performed both 'Onedari Daisakusen' and '4 no Uta' as Black BABYMETAL, without Su. And of course they performed a bunch of songs with all three members on stage.. Yes, the cape is black with a red lining. Su-metal has been described in the BABYMETAL lore (including the on-screen narrations) as Kurenai no Kishi, or "Crimson Knightess" when she is wearing this cape.
Happy New Year. Good reaction. Looks like you've been told about Su's other solos already and as I'm on my phone now it is hard to add anything extra you weren't already told. I don't think there is much to add anyway.
The thing that always gets me about seeing their live performances is how easy it is to forget, with her amazing stage presence, that Su-Metal is only about 5' tall. 🥰
Akatsuki @ Nippon Budokan:- This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:- 1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena). 2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX). 3. "Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Gods" (Budokan Black Night). Su-Metal have a powerful voice to penetrate the heavy musical instrument and still sound so clear. The passion shown by Su-metal, every band member, the composer, the lyricist and the stage designer resulted in this masterpiece of a performance. My eyes water every time I watch it because it's so beautiful.
Others already told you another Su's solos, but I think her best vocal performance is either *Kimi to Anime ga Mitai* (still kawaii high energy with Yui & Moa but those high notes she did just soo good) or *Shine* - Legend M performance specifically where only Su and Moa on stage. Also for Akatsuki, Budokan 14 version you watched here is actually weak one, any Akatsuki performance since 2015 onward was largely improved on Su vocal (With exception of Legend 1997 Akatsuki Unfinished - it's basically a full emotional ballad)
One of my favorite Babymetal songs. Akatsuki is so powerful, so heavy and melodically beautiful. I never get tired of listening to this song. The performance at this show, WOW, just stunning. Babymetal saved my life during the pandemic, one of the best bands I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. To all the fans, AKATSUKI DAAAAA!!! see you!
Happy New Year to you and all Babymetal fans reading this. You mention about being in her shoes in this moment. It has always amazed me how confident Su is at this point, just look at the image around 20-25 seconds into this MV. How many other 16 year olds would be this comfortable walking out on that stage, of course we all know Su is no ordinary 16 year old and has been performing most of her life, still. Boh, the bassist, has different head make up for different shows.
_Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥 First of all Happy New Year and thanks for coming back and starting this year with BM songs. Get ready for a wonderful 2023 for BM fans, a new single is coming this month and then a new live performance with the girls coming back to the stage. Thanks for my second shout-out of this year lol And pretty much yea, meanwhile SuMetal is performing this, the others girls are taking a break to come back after this song and performed their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup. This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge is this. This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must. In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a love, see the pinky finger she's rising up, that's our promise of neverending love ❤️ Akatsuki (it pronounce almost with the "u" silent) it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version. This is one out four solo she has on their repertory, same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997. Also you can find Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 which is a ballad version with only a piano playing behind. Remember if you want a full info of the group and the girls watch "A BabyMetal Guide" by CrypticMisery, you got a short and long version. Ok man see you next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

Very cool!!! Until this stage of the band, in each concert Su sings two songs solo, and Yui and Moa two songs in a duo. I saw the list of songs that Su sings in another comment here. Yui and moa sing "4 in Utah", "Sis Anger", "Onedari Daisakusen" and "GJ!".
It's crazy that with the amount of Babymetal songs you've reacted, you haven't stumbled upon 1 of 4 Su Solo songs, or even Black Babymetal songs (also 4}. Hope you'll do Akatsuki Unfinished version next. Just for reference I'll put down other songs down too. Su-Metal solo songs- "Amore", "No Rain No Rainbow", "Rondo of Nightmare". Black Babymetal songs (Yui and Moa)- "Sis. Anger", "GJ", "Onedari Daisakusen", "Song 4" or "4 No Uta"
there is also unfinished version of this song on youtube, much more softer. that version makes me goosebumps all time. this song is solo performance of Su. Yui and Moa were doing their homeworks during this song (seriously 😂)
Hey dude, loving watching your journey down the J/rock/metal rabbit hole, its a little reminiscent of my own, 5 yrs ago i had never listened to metal, and didn't really know Japanese music at all, fwd wind a few years and i listen to virtually nothing but female fronted Japanese Rock /punk /metal, BABYMETAL were my accidental gateway(i feel head over heels) then came Nemophila (utterly fabulous, and i implore you to begin reacting to them) and more recently our wonderful, amazing maids, i can't thank that FB friend (you know the ones that you didn't realise you were friends with) enough for posting the umpteenth MV on my time line, and eventually i opened it, gave it a listen, and was gobsmacked, it was BABYMETAL Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere, and the rest as they say is history, numerous concerts ☑️ridiculous amounts spent on merch☑️and worth every penny imo, keep up the good work fella, and don't deny yourself Nemophila for much longer, coz i know you will ❤️them 🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵
Just adding to what the other commenters wrote, there is no official music video for Akatsuki, only different live versions and compilations, plus the aforementioned 'Unfinished Version', which is a pop ballad sans any metal that was only played live once for a special occasion. And about the bassist's (his name is BOH) head paint: to my knowledge, he doesn't have any tattoos, it's just face paint. Tattoos are a saucy subject in Japan, as they are traditionally associated with members of the yakuza crime syndicates. You will therefore be seeing far less Japanese people having any sort of tattoo, as for example most public baths and hot springs (onsen) won't allow tattooed persons to use their facilities because of that history.
Su does 4 solos, as good as they are Moa and yui need a breather now and then. Her solos are Amore, no Rain no Rainbow, Rondo of nightmare, and this song. Likewise Moa and Yui have four duets they do. GJ, Song 4 (which they have writing credits for), Onedari Daisakusen. and sis anger.
