I know i shouldnt be saying this since im not from season 1, but season 4, but still i think its pretty much ruined. if they bring back everything thats OG in season 2, it could have a chance. also, marketing it as the "OG OG" is dumb, since most of the gameplay isnt OG. I think this can all be fixed if they bring back atleast the UI and take out sprinting and other fancy movement. Edit: Some of you are saying that the engine has to do something with this: It doesnt. Im a dev myself, the engine really doesnt matter, its the team that does.

People get better in multiplayer games as the game get older, that doesn't mean they should just ruin the game for people that actually want a pvp experience.

However, I do play on pc. And now with bots, it's just boring and too easy. Probably gonna uninstall Fortnite if no good changes are made soon.

I don’t understand the point of OG mode. Why bring it back to cater to new players? They aren’t the target audience, they should experience it like the OG players did, not the other way around. They keep modernizing it so much to the point it’s not even worth playing. It’s pretty much Chapter 6 on the old map

There is absolutely no excuse as to why a billion-dollar company can't give the fans what they want, the chapter 2 remix was one thing, but calling this “OG” and not making the map how it was back then is another.
Epic calling this OG is like a car brand announcing that it will manufacture again an exact model of an old combustion car, but in reality make it electric. Epic could fix the problems of the old seasons and make a perfect OG season, 100% the same as the past but with the problems fixed. But, what were the real problems of the old seasons? What did players complain about back then? (don't compare it to the current game) I NEVER complained and I've never seen any OG player complain about "movements being slow" back then for example. So, why put these new things in something you call OG? That was just one example. Epic calling this "true OG" bothers me a little. Guys, It doesn't matter if the new one "is better" just because you're used to it. If you want to call this OG to bring back real OG players back to the game, MAKE IT REALLY OG or it will end up being just another “different mode” for current Fortnite players. The new movement in OG Mode is ONLY good for Zero Build. Epic needs to understand that most people who played in the past are SEVEN YEARS older, we don’t have the same free time and willingness to learn a completely new game that is Fortnite in 2024. An example of what is “new” and fits perfectly into OG mode is the Reboot Vans. The truth is that Epic forgets what really made Fortnite so famous and doesn’t listen to the community like they used to. I think the biggest problem of all was the name and the hype Epic created for this mode. @@russiankodiak6849 You mean zero build, right? I think this is a great solution for this mode too. But I end up preferring the new movement in zero build to make it possible to climb houses and other buildings easily, because considering that if you break a stairs, you will never be able to climb to the top floor again, only using port-a-forts, then you would need dozens of them during the game. Maybe putting a limit of 20 materials would be the solution? Anyway, it is important to remember that zero build mode did not exist in the past, and the entire game was made for normal mode, it is really difficult to fit the OG Mode into Zero Build. The bots situation just got a whole lot worse yesterday, in every match regardless of SBMM there's always 88 bots. Yeah you can play ranked but it wasn't this bad. Edit: So it sounds like they reverted this change earlier today around 1pm EST. I haven't tried BR because I've been out but that's what people on Twitter are saying.
Yeah, I already uninstalled Fortnite. You should try OG projects like ezfn and stuff like that, it's like almost a replica of OG fortnite with the movement, lootpool, everything. Just discovered this today.
They brought OG back to try to bring back and keep OG players. Except they changed OG to cater to new players instead of OG players. It doesn't have the OG feel at all.
people need to understand that even if fortnite og was absolute perfect, it would never reach the levels of the previous og fortnite, because not only was it limited to a month which meant that they couldn't skip any day before it was gone, it was also 4 years since we saw chapter 1 and now it's only been one year since we saw chapter 1.

The reason why Fortnite lost all these players is because Fortnite isn't how it used to be It lost all it's Fortnite aura Chapter 1 to 3 had that vibe but chapter 4 5 and 6 feel like a totally different game. We lost the big seasons story trailers, the big major events story related and I feel like Fortnite is not as close as their players as before.

My thoughts are that OG should have just been 1 mode and make it literally, OG. No zero build, no ranked, just builds. They've split the player base too much. Bring back old movement, no bots, no turbo build (until s3) etc. just for this mode and keep the new stuff to ch6. Dont get me wrong, I really like chapter 6, but OG should be... OG! I also thought day 1 of OG was the best day - no bots, no sbmm... it was chaos and that chaos was part of the OG days. Grinding for a win made it feel worth it when you got one.
No one is talking about how the semi auto sniper has the newer scope. In chapter one the scope was the same as the bolt action and now the zoom is the same as the scoped assault rifle. Small difference but hard to ignore when you have the semi auto.

No. is it ruined? no, not even close. ive been having lots of fun with it. people just wanna complain. some things i can justify complaining about like the bots and SBMM. but other things like gun models are kinda ridiculous. it will never be perfect and there will always be somebody complaining about something

Epic doesn’t want the og game to be the mainstay, essentially making everything they’ve done since chap 1 useless. Hence the pandering to the new gen players which seems to be the vast majority of players now. If feels like they’ve just used fortnite to create a super gaming platform, and what made the game unique is gone. Or maybe I’m just too old for video games but ggs fort, anyone who switched to mkb and grinded their mechanics is not thrilled about this new simple edit update. Which is most the comp players around chap 2 when they hard nerfed aim assist, and lowered controller players max possible sensitivities, essentially destroying the high sense controller gang in one swoop. Ej lad, chiksy, flea, etc, all quit in chap 2. Controller players looking like and killing mkb players in comp was half of what made fort dope. Nickmercs and ghostayden. So any controller player that played linear for a year and could afford a pc bought a pc and switched to mkb. And with simple edit it’s like low sense controller might be competive again. Like anyone who’s played tha game along time is OVER these constant changes. The og sweats don’t care anymore.
You can compare this OG season with the first iPhone. The first iPhone, was a Revolution and if Apple decides to do a new modernized version no one would like that because no one asks for that, that's the same thing like this OG mode.

@mathtyg yeah of course I have that in my mind, my problem is that for the mode to be released the way it was, is a complete joke. They could've at least put a bit more effort into it, the fact the new ch2 models went to the final version of the game mode shows how much they cared about it.
They did ruin it, not disabling turbo build and adding OG Movement created this new abomination. It scared away all the people who loved old Fortnite and returned after years just to be disappointed. Chapter 6 is now more popular than OG Fortnite, and it was suppose to be the other way around. Epic’s decisions and handling of this mode and the FNCS tryhards killed it. Epic is out of touch, they didn’t know who they were suppose to cater to, and this gamemodes numbers dipping to such lows is the testament.
I tried to take a shot on it, but this moviment doesn't give me any will to play the og og, despite that I still played a lot fortnite during ch2-ch4 with the new moviment mechs. And Epic doesn't seem to be putting much effort to really do it real og :/
Man i got 6 wins back to back last night each with 20 bombs or more. and the week before my win rate was not that high. So i was confused. And yes i knew that the kills i was getting were mainly bots and i got maybe 10 real kills. But then saw that servers now have a minimum of 88 bots per lobby. Like are you F***** serious?!. We are asking for less bots and we receive this bullshit. This is my biggest issue.
It's literally season 1 it was boring and plain I still enjoy it once the seasons start rolling out OG will dominate player counts I'm not gonna complain about OG it's all I play now sometimes we gotta be grateful for what we get

og is also good for another reason: when a player does not want to gp to the current season for personally not liking it, the player can still go to a familiarly enjoyable season in OG. Hope this happens with chapter 2 too, the best chapter
here are my issues: 1. Bots. No reason for bots to be in this mode, if you want easy wins go play chapter 6. 2. Movement: Im fine with sprinting and mantling, I would much rather them be removed but whatever, but we need og animations back. It feels so wrong playing the og map with chapter 5-6 movement. 3. Gun models: I dont know why they didn’t use the og models for the scar, tac, purple and god rpg and other guns, its just so stupid.
As long as SKBMM exists the game will never feel the same, if they were going to bring back OG they should have committed all the way like 100% OG and yes you will say that then pubs won't be fun without SKBMM and its understandable but that's why ranked exists, so sweats and tryhards can go there and pretend they'll win $3 million prize pool, pubs was always fun back then because the skill gap was almost none-existing, it was a new game for all, new mechanics for all, and we pretty much sucked back then. Honestly I think they should take turbo building away and add the old movement for build mode and the UI (in game) I don’t really mind. If you go and do a test and score a 61% you don’t get to do it over most of the time there isn’t a retake. You are stuck with that grade. That’s how I would describe the roll out of “OG” fortnite. They should’ve put more effort into finishing the product before putting it out , they got an F . They did not live up to the standards that they put for themselves. Unbalanced, underdeveloped, poorly executed product. Sometimes you get no “gobacksies” after you made a mistake. The guns are unhinged ,the movement isn’t the same, the scope of the game is not the same. It’s like a scam😂 all those people who were hype on the first day were met with whiplash. You should’ve accounted for people who were going to sh1t on the players and they were going to cry bloody murder because they are use to bots. Then also account for players who want a legit player to player experience with the same level skill or slightly higher not exponentially higher. No bots and original gameplay. Play testing should’ve been extra expansive so that the first day of its release you play you BLOW away EVERYONE and your competition. Instead Epic gave us a rinky dink half ass half baked OG as another game mode to split the player base with and og pass for a quick money grab. WOMP WOMP. Nah there’s thousands of og sweats who just grind box fights zone wars and free building for the last 4 years who just hoped they’d bring back chap 1 but they never did and they never will 😢, so long fortnite you can keep Ballsistics, I’m gonna go back to Val and apex 😂. I’m tired of waiting for a ‘comp’ game to fix their audio, which has been trash since chapter 2s first release, their graphics, also trash since chap 2 first release (game was unplayable on ps4 after chap 2s release honestly guys, I bought a pic the same month), their loot pool (give me a pump and an AR please, no one cares about anything else), fix their map (go back to the old map), and remove the new movement (all of it is ass for comp builds, no pro players likes mantle if or super jump or wall bounce as they usually get you killed by accident more than anything. And finally, my biggest gripe with the game. Visual audio cues in comp is the dumbest thing I’ve ever played. Both players have wall hacks. SO EVERY FUGHT IS BORING AF. GOOD players know you both are likely presuming everything and it leads to the gayest fighting styles I’ve ever witnessed. Since there’s no actual audio the games just tac sprint and crouching. Very cat and mouse style gun fights now, because it’s so hard for any move you make to not be obvious af. And good luck resetting any fights without rotation because TAC SPRINT IS STILL IN THE GAME.

Imo Epic wasn’t the one that ruined OG, they got very close to the original game with a couple of adjustments for the modern community. This game’s community is one of the most ungrateful I’ve ever seen, because it seems like they can’t win no matter what epic does. People complain that the games are too hard, then epic adds bots to make it easier, and then the community demands for bots to be removed. The old movement would also suck because you would die to storm every other game, and I think most people just forget how unbelievably rare shield was in 2017. Epic superbuffed the drop rate of shields yet the community STILL complains about it. There is truly no way to make everyone happy

Yes they did. Anyways. Tricky I need you! The audio is so fucking horrible i can't describe it. It's worse than ever, even tho it has always been terrible, (thats why visual sound effect is in the game since ch2). Even visual sound effects don't show movement and I can't hear them and they are 2 meters next to me, but there are moments where I can hear them, but it doesn't show anything. Epic should fix the audio and remove Visual Sound effects completely, or make it that it removes the audio completely so only people who really need it will use it. Visual sound has always been op, and it ruins the game, and the skill to rely on your ears. PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON THIS!

There is absolutely no excuse as to why a billion-dollar company can't give the fans what they want, the chapter 2 remix was one thing, but calling this “OG” and not making the map how it was back then is another.
The old movement was terrible and the game play was too slow. Bringing back the old movement wouldn't make the game fun again.
Epic calling this OG is like a car brand announcing that it will manufacture again an exact model of an old combustion car, but in reality make it electric.
Epic could fix the problems of the old seasons and make a perfect OG season, 100% the same as the past but with the problems fixed.
But, what were the real problems of the old seasons? What did players complain about back then? (don't compare it to the current game)
I NEVER complained and I've never seen any OG player complain about "movements being slow" back then for example. So, why put these new things in something you call OG?
That was just one example.
Epic calling this "true OG" bothers me a little.
Guys, It doesn't matter if the new one "is better" just because you're used to it.
If you want to call this OG to bring back real OG players back to the game, MAKE IT REALLY OG or it will end up being just another “different mode” for current Fortnite players.
The new movement in OG Mode is ONLY good for Zero Build.
Epic needs to understand that most people who played in the past are SEVEN YEARS older, we don’t have the same free time and willingness to learn a completely new game that is Fortnite in 2024.
An example of what is “new” and fits perfectly into OG mode is the Reboot Vans.
The truth is that Epic forgets what really made Fortnite so famous and doesn’t listen to the community like they used to.
I think the biggest problem of all was the name and the hype Epic created for this mode. If it wasn't called "OG" with the hype of being "exactly like the old days", we wouldn't be talking about all this.

I think this is a great solution for this mode too.
But I end up preferring the new movement in zero build to make it possible to climb houses and other buildings easily, because considering that if you break a stairs, you will never be able to climb to the top floor again, only using port-a-forts, then you would need dozens of them during the game.
Maybe putting a limit of 20 materials would be the solution?
Anyway, it is important to remember that zero build mode did not exist in the past, and the entire game was made for normal mode, it is really difficult to fit the OG Mode into Zero Build.

Yeah, I already uninstalled Fortnite. You should try OG projects like ezfn and stuff like that, it's like almost a replica of OG fortnite with the movement, lootpool, everything. Just discovered this today.

It lost all it's Fortnite aura Chapter 1 to 3 had that vibe but chapter 4 5 and 6 feel like a totally different game. We lost the big seasons story trailers, the big major events story related and I feel like Fortnite is not as close as their players as before.

Chapter 1 2 and 3 have one special vibe to it that Chapter 4 and 6 have another one.
My thoughts are that OG should have just been 1 mode and make it literally, OG. No zero build, no ranked, just builds. They've split the player base too much. Bring back old movement, no bots, no turbo build (until s3) etc. just for this mode and keep the new stuff to ch6. Dont get me wrong, I really like chapter 6, but OG should be... OG! I also thought day 1 of OG was the best day - no bots, no sbmm... it was chaos and that chaos was part of the OG days. Grinding for a win made it feel worth it when you got one.

No one is talking about how the semi auto sniper has the newer scope. In chapter one the scope was the same as the bolt action and now the zoom is the same as the scoped assault rifle. Small difference but hard to ignore when you have the semi auto.

Epic doesn’t want the og game to be the mainstay, essentially making everything they’ve done since chap 1 useless. Hence the pandering to the new gen players which seems to be the vast majority of players now. If feels like they’ve just used fortnite to create a super gaming platform, and what made the game unique is gone. Or maybe I’m just too old for video games but ggs fort, anyone who switched to mkb and grinded their mechanics is not thrilled about this new simple edit update. Which is most the comp players around chap 2 when they hard nerfed aim assist, and lowered controller players max possible sensitivities, essentially destroying the high sense controller gang in one swoop. Ej lad, chiksy, flea, etc, all quit in chap 2. Controller players looking like and killing mkb players in comp was half of what made fort dope. Nickmercs and ghostayden. So any controller player that played linear for a year and could afford a pc bought a pc and switched to mkb. And with simple edit it’s like low sense controller might be competive again. Like anyone who’s played tha game along time is OVER these constant changes. The og sweats don’t care anymore.

They did ruin it, not disabling turbo build and adding OG Movement created this new abomination. It scared away all the people who loved old Fortnite and returned after years just to be disappointed. Chapter 6 is now more popular than OG Fortnite, and it was suppose to be the other way around.
Epic’s decisions and handling of this mode and the FNCS tryhards killed it. Epic is out of touch, they didn’t know who they were suppose to cater to, and this gamemodes numbers dipping to such lows is the testament.

og is also good for another reason: when a player does not want to gp to the current season for personally not liking it, the player can still go to a familiarly enjoyable season in OG. Hope this happens with chapter 2 too, the best chapter
here are my issues:
1. Bots. No reason for bots to be in this mode, if you want easy wins go play chapter 6.
2. Movement: Im fine with sprinting and mantling, I would much rather them be removed but whatever, but we need og animations back. It feels so wrong playing the og map with chapter 5-6 movement.
3. Gun models: I dont know why they didn’t use the og models for the scar, tac, purple and god rpg and other guns, its just so stupid.

Honestly I think they should take turbo building away and add the old movement for build mode and the UI (in game) I don’t really mind. You should’ve accounted for people who were going to sh1t on the players and they were going to cry bloody murder because they are use to bots.
Then also account for players who want a legit player to player experience with the same level skill or slightly higher not exponentially higher. No bots and original gameplay. Play testing should’ve been extra expansive so that the first day of its release you play you BLOW away EVERYONE and your competition. Instead Epic gave us a rinky dink half ass half baked OG as another game mode to split the player base with and og pass for a quick money grab.

Nah there’s thousands of og sweats who just grind box fights zone wars and free building for the last 4 years who just hoped they’d bring back chap 1 but they never did and they never will 😢, so long fortnite you can keep Ballsistics, I’m gonna go back to Val and apex 😂. I’m tired of waiting for a ‘comp’ game to fix their audio, which has been trash since chapter 2s first release, their graphics, also trash since chap 2 first release (game was unplayable on ps4 after chap 2s release honestly guys, I bought a pic the same month), their loot pool (give me a pump and an AR please, no one cares about anything else), fix their map (go back to the old map), and remove the new movement (all of it is ass for comp builds, no pro players likes mantle if or super jump or wall bounce as they usually get you killed by accident more than anything.
And finally, my biggest gripe with the game. Visual audio cues in comp is the dumbest thing I’ve ever played. Both players have wall hacks. SO EVERY FUGHT IS BORING AF. GOOD players know you both are likely presuming everything and it leads to the gayest fighting styles I’ve ever witnessed. Since there’s no actual audio the games just tac sprint and crouching. Very cat and mouse style gun fights now, because it’s so hard for any move you make to not be obvious af. And good luck resetting any fights without rotation because TAC SPRINT IS STILL IN THE GAME.

Imo Epic wasn’t the one that ruined OG, they got very close to the original game with a couple of adjustments for the modern community. This game’s community is one of the most ungrateful I’ve ever seen, because it seems like they can’t win no matter what epic does. People complain that the games are too hard, then epic adds bots to make it easier, and then the community demands for bots to be removed. The old movement would also suck because you would die to storm every other game, and I think most people just forget how unbelievably rare shield was in 2017. Epic superbuffed the drop rate of shields yet the community STILL complains about it. There is truly no way to make everyone happy

@@EvanDaB3st Hope you know you’re the only guy in the boat that believes that OG is actually good. The player numbers are dwindling, why? Because the gamemode is not OG, it’s some new abomination. We enjoyed OG Fortnite back in 2017-2019 because it was actually OG, it was fun, it was slow paced, it didn’t play like a creative map.

Anyways. Tricky I need you! The audio is so fucking horrible i can't describe it. It's worse than ever, even tho it has always been terrible, (thats why visual sound effect is in the game since ch2). Even visual sound effects don't show movement and I can't hear them and they are 2 meters next to me, but there are moments where I can hear them, but it doesn't show anything.
Epic should fix the audio and remove Visual Sound effects completely, or make it that it removes the audio completely so only people who really need it will use it. Visual sound has always been op, and it ruins the game, and the skill to rely on your ears.
