I love this compilation of her story! Ever since Beta, I've LOVED the Pale Tree and the Sylvari. My second main is my sylvari mesmer and I primarily use her for WvW roaming and camp flipping. Faolain is the best fleshed out villain of the game, imho, and partly because we have so much of her story. And Caithe is my favorite of the OG Destiny's Edge Guild.
Faolain is for sure my second favourite game villian after Scarlet :D As a Sylvari main character lover I also had the full immersion into the whole "Sylvari are filling important roles" stories that other races missed in the first 60 level of gameplay. I just love the whole concept of Nightmare Court as the rebels against the mother with their dream being free from the Dream. And in the end we learn that this Dream is actually so unique to the Pale Tree that it is something very special making the Sylvari as they are more than just puppets for Mordremoth. But the existence of Malyck, not only for the Nightmare Court but also for the whole lore of Tyria is a secret worth wondering over. I just love Sylvari lore :D
Given the plot threads that Janthir Wilds has about the Pale Tree's condition (and given it's pretty obvious those threads will have nothing to do with concluding JW's story regarding the Titans, Bava Nisos, and the gate into the Mists that's somewhere in that city) I'd say we have a pretty sure bet that the next expansion is going to delve into the matter of the Pale Tree and all those intriguing loose ends regarding Malyck and the second tree. JW is the fallout to Mabon's death in SotO, with that providing the foundation 'plothook' for the cause of the events in JW. Searching for a way to help the Pale Tree fully recover is such an obvious plothook to lead into the next one. We may actually finally get to find-out what happened with Malyck and what prevented him returning to help with the dragons. Pretty sure the second Tree's map will be at the conspicuous giant leaf-like green splotches on the worldmap directly to the left of the Lost Precipice guildhall. It's around the location the source of the river in Brisbain would be, and it's near the shore of the continent (Malyck references both when he talks about leaving to find his tree) :)
@@AlaiaSkyhawk Oh that would be awesome. and yes, those spots on the map look super suspicious. If that is really the case it will easily become one of my most favourite expansions.
