Since last year I've been asking to get one in my music store to hear the Amàri. Well it did happen last week and the difference is clearly. It's like you are in the middle of the scene where the artists play their instruments and singers are performing. Amazing..... So I ordered it and I will enjoy it for the rest of my life ;-)

I recommend you to listen on Chord Electronics Dave with the Meze Empyrean with good quality power (scales very well with that headphone amp). It's my current headphone setup, I had a lot of different setups and listened to most of the expensive headphones out there, it's my absolute favourite.
I guess it is kind of off topic but do anyone know a good site to watch newly released tv shows online?

As a playback DAC the Antelope Audio Amari is the best-sounding unit I have heard . I am not a professional , but an audiophile who was lucky enough to hear this level of sound quality .

Hello! How about mixing on headphones only? Lynx Hilo or SPL Phonitor XE for pro mixing and mastering on Audeze LCDX and Focal Clear Pro MG? Thank you
I haven't used the Lynx or SPL headphone amps. It's really tough to beat those Focals though. -David

I have a pure2 and like it, but I had a bad experience with Antelope. They wanted me to pay $1000 to fix my Orion 32 which they said was a power supply issue. Ended up with a quantum 4848 to replace the Orion. I will get ridding of the pur2 once something else comes along I want but. But a huge plus for the pure2 is multiple word clock out, that's why I didn't get a lynx Hilo. I need word clock to go to my quantum and quantum 4848
How do you like the Quantum compared to the Orion? Great videos btw! -David
@@Pixelproaudio thanks! I like the quantum 4848. I wish it had input and output metering on the front at the same time. Presonus has a good converters to me, and I really feel in 2021 nobody makes "bad" converters anymore. I do think the orion sounded slightly better, more open on top end.
Really enjoyed your review of the two pieces of Antelope converters... could you get your hands on an RME AD/DA to do a three way comparison shootout? ADI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition or soon to be released ADI-2/4 Pro SE. Also, not an AD converter, just a DAC but the ADI-2 DAC FS receives high accolades from many reviewers! Would love to know your thoughts, keep up

I have an Audient ID44, looking to upgrade to pure 2 converters but keeping the use of Audient Mic Pre's (because I like the sound of them) and plugging in to Pure 2 via Adat. Will I lose conversion value going through the Audient first? Would also like Pure 2 for Mixing/mastering. Good to know there is a difference and an advantage to your mixing! Thanks.
Great question! If you want to use the iD44 for the preamps and get the Pure 2 conversion for both A/D and D/A, you can plug a mic into preamp 1 or 2 and send the signal out to the Pure 2 via the Send insert jack.

@@Pixelproaudio Thanks. The reason why I say Adat from the ID44 is because the analogue I/O's on the Pure 2 will be in use already with my outboard? It would suck if I have to keep on going to the back of that unit to plug into the analogue inputs...

As an autiophile, how doos it comare to naim, mytek, chord kind of hifi converters? I personaly like a musical warmer Sound. Is this dac not to 'technical' sounding?
The best way I can describe it is open and real sounding. The music doesn't sound hindered by the hardware. -David

If it doos not Sound to dry or analitical. Difference betwwen pro studio and hifi Gear like in monitor speakers? Studio speakers tend to be exhausting after some time. Would you use it at home? Sorry for my bad English.

Both of these Antelope units would be used as your interface. You'd take the output signal from your DAW, run it out (of the converter unit) to your outboard gear, then back in (through the analog inputs) back into your DAW. The in and out (AD/DA) conversion is what these specialize in. Your 8PreX essentially acts the same way, but with not with as high-end of converters.
can you use afx2daw with the antelope zen go interface?also can you advise me if its necessary i add the golden pre73 preams ? or the pre included are much better
Great questions! This does not support AFX2DAW currently. For that, you need a Mac and an Antelope interface with Thunderbolt. I'm not sure if they will make it available in the future though. I certainly hope so!
I would suggest trying the Antelope preamps first and see how you like it. If you feel like you're missing something with just the software after lots of sessions, then try a hardware preamp.

I'm not sure it was when this comment was written, but currently ZenGo supports AFX2DAW through USB, I think it's the only Antelope device that does. Cheers!
Audient ID44 and Amari have the same converters (CS43198 /AKM 5578E) 🙃
Interesting... They sounded pretty different in our tests, so the clocking, power supply and analog side of the conversion must make a massive difference. -David
@@Pixelproaudio They sound different (matter of taste) but no one sounds better than the other the converters inside are top class. an Audient ID44 & Orion32+ Gen3 owner
You mean ID44 mk2 and Amari use same ad converter??
@@chord1476 ID44 mk2 doesn't exist yet. But Yes ID44 Mk1 use the same AD converters as the Amari

Tbh I didn't notice a $3,000 difference in those clips of audio.
I want to hear the finished master from antelope So far all I have heard is talk about the hardware I don't care what you have to say about this hardware I want to hear the results that will tell me more than you talking for an hour.
