  • Daughter helps make a judgement on her mom's case. #caughtinprovidence #judgecaprio #breakfast
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Coming in to court is voluntary, in most cases. The majority of defendants come in to fight their ticket because they felt they were wrongly ticketed, or they have an excuse they'd like the judge to consider. People do have the option to mail in their payment.
    These are real people, not actors. Please keep that in mind when you comment. They don't deserve negative scrutiny. Thank you.

    I love how the judge talks to Janine. He refrains from any comments on things she can't help, like being tall for her age, even though you can see he's surprised she's only 6. He frames the conversation on her aspirations, says "WHEN you graduate college," (not if,) and he gives her so much agency in their interaction, focusing on fairness, clearly laying out options and making her comfortable in her choices. Such a great example of how to talk to kids.

      Milky what everyone is saying is that she doesn't have to follow any set path, like getting a particular degree, or getting married, or having kids. She should be free to do all or none or some of those things as she pleases. The point is that there is a tendency to think that being married and having kids is the only way and it's not necessarily the path to realization for everyone.

    For just a moment, the judge made the little girl forget about her shyness. It may not seem like much, but that is going to impact her for the rest of her life in a very positive way. She's going to feel like she has a voice, she will be able to share her thoughts and opinions to other people. And that is so important for a child to be able to develop. I praise this judge in every way and i hope he will always continue to do this for children and their families

    •  5 лет назад +3

      And then, later, the girl goes home and receives a spanking and lots of yelling at. She gets mentally depressed. She doesn't wanna do anything in life. Her grades drop. She cannot get to college. She becomes poor. She lives in the streets. The end

    • @jenjen171995
      @jenjen171995 5 лет назад +5

      @ it all comes down to the choices we make. Unfortunately that does happen alot and discourages any hope for the future in a child. But sometimes, their spark refuses to go out and it just makes them even more stronger. But that will be up to them one day. Either give up and give in, or keep fighting for what they want in life. After dealing with an emotionally abusive mother for ten years I chose to keep fighting and after failing countless classes I got into the college I wanted to attend and am now almost finished with my BA in science with a 3.00 gpa :)
