And to those who were not moved by Armando, you have no empathy or heart. You should be ashamed of your cynicism. If more people emulated Armando’s character, the world would be a better place.
There's not a lot of American TV these days extolling the virtues of compassion and understanding, as opposed to getting rich quick and laughing at the less fortunate. This Judge with his inclusion and validation of the young and the very young, is a beacon of hope and fairness and should be commended with honours. I know it's a fly on the wall reality show that's making money for a Network, but any sins relative to the genre ( and there are many ) are exonerated by the huge tide of compassion, courtesy and empathy shown. This Judge Caprio show, and the man himself is a breath of fresh air blowing through a stinking media landscape of negativity, recrimination, greed and avarice that's taken away so much from us via a medium that can be and should be harnessed for the common good. Television selling positivity is a ( new ) joy to behold. Here's hoping for lots more. Judge Caprio with the huge heart......I commend you.

The point for her taking her kids to accompany her at court mostly is because she cant speak/understand English, and the judge give it to the kid to take care of her/mom. Love that

@@solvent1255 The translator here is notorious for not being the best. She's mistranslated things before and in other cases, changed what people have said (including the Judge) leading to misunderstandings and confusion.

I love what the judge does with children; he sets the perfect, compassionate example around children, and that is absolutely priceless!
For those people who "misunderstood" what the mother implied, she CAN understand english HOWEVER she clearly finds it difficult to SPEAK the language, so that is why there are translator so they can help these individual to easily say what they need to say in their language without the struggle of trying to speak another language,so dont go criticising her because of this.

After Armando defended his mother and made a plea on her behalf, I would have sent an order from the court ordering that some city agencies do something to find an apartment for this lovely family unit.

Some second-language learners are often much more comfortable with one skill than others. In her case, she might have great listening skills, but not so much with speaking, especially when under pressure.

That, and her son spoke in simple sentences. It is a lot easier to understand simple sentences than complex legal language.
