You have no idea what that place means to me. Its part of my history, my best friend and I dreamed of living that life. He got killed in an airplane crash in 2000, but I still have the dream of visiting there some day. I cant thank you enough for this, thanks!
You are so lucky to be going back. My husband and I would like to get back to Oahu again! We had so much fun and the highlight of our trip was Robin's Nest.
My husband and I were at Robins Nest just a couple days before you. We took some video and hung around for a little while taking pictures. It was really a beautiful day! Your video is a nice remembrance of our trip there.
oh and thanks for the nice, tasteful video and respecting the local area. nicely done. for many of us who grew up in that era, especially coming from Navy family (and being part Hawaiian too!), TSM is an honorary member of the family.
Robins Nest is " 507 Hwy 72, Waimanalo Beach, Hawaii, United States " on Google Maps. Park Entrance is " 549 Hwy 72, Waimanalo Beach, Hawaii, United States " on Google Maps
I read that the owner was in local politics & was some kind of communications heiress. It also said she passed away a few yrs ago. I am not sure how accurate that article was but maybe that's why it looks like it hasn't been maintained in a while. If that article is accurate you would think it would be for sale or already have a new owner. It said it is currently a private residence so maybe somebody did buy it. If so, it's a shame they aren't maintaining it. Thx for the look at it Loved Magnum
Darla276 We picnic in the park there almost everyday. I may have crossed your path. There was a couple parked by the side of the road a few days before taking pictures by the gate. We are heading back to Honolulu on Feb 09-2013 for 3 weeks. I can't wait.
Very nice ! Iam Watching all the Series of Magnum since 1 Week ! Eveything that is Uploaded on You Tube ! Unfortunatly not enough, just a few Full 50 MIN Series.I guess I need to buy DVD Set of all the Seasons ;-) Its very nice to see how detailed you are Filming Robin Masters Masion :-)Even the Stones at the Front Gate on the Photo in the 80S is still the same, its impressive to see that. If I would be there,it would have the feeling like Iam dreaming or something, watching this as a Kid in 80S
That is the Anderson estate. The tide pool in the back was formerly a turtle (hanu) sanctuary of some sort. The house is well known locally and I believe was in the family before the show was filmed. Producers put a bogus crest on the gate, perhaps in part to keep the Robin Masters/ JQH mystery going.
Hi. I am really keen on going to Hawaii next year and would like to see this location. Is there a specific movie/TV tour you have to go on or is it easier to just rent a car and go?
Just rent a car and go. Right next to the Shriners Beach Club on Kalanianaole Hwy, past the Makai Pier heading north. There is a little park n picnic area. Pull in and park. There is a farm animal petting roadside zoo right across from the entrance of the estate. You have to go at low tide.
Darla276 I will take some fresh video with my GoPro. I will say Hello to the Robin's Nest for you. Tell your husabnd that your both going back and just do it.
I guess your lucky you didn't get shot! Public beach or not I still wouldn't want people checking out my place. Although the wife & I were there last May & stopped by the gate.
THIS IS ,THE ANDERSON ESTATE,OWNED BY THE COX FAMILY,RICHEST FAMILY ON THE ISLAND,WORTH BILLIONS,WHICH IS WAY THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE PROPERTY,SAD REALY.

Yes, the house was already owned by the Anderson family when Magnum PI began production.
It is still own by the Anderson family. Some tourist guide claims the owner is Eva Glover Anderson.

It is a private residence.
I want it !!
Grande magnum ....
Kind of sad how overgrown the place is now. While the show was being filmed, the house and grounds were kept up. No longer.
I have been there in July 2005.. looks neglected now, quite sad actually.. The neighbour property is for sale, $2'900'000 according to zillow

you can swim there and every beach in Hawaii, there is a law that makes all beaches accessible to the public.
Now Lads!!
Has anyone filmed this from a street view as opposed to the ocean view. I cannot believe this place is in such dis-repair. Anyone know the address?
41-505 Kalanianaʻole Hwy, Waimanalo, HI 96795
What time were?
hollywood cameras sure make things look more interesting
Eve Anderson, as far as I know.

Robins Nest doesnt exist any more : ( A friend of Obama Martin Nesbitt bought it 2018 and destroyed it!
What’s Obama got to do with it? Pretty sure he didn’t say demolish it.
