Just a little note. Compost tea is not a substitute for compost itself, but a way to inoculate soils with bacteria and microbes that may be low in soils quickly. Microbes need a source of food, whether it be compost, mulch and/or living plants to stay active and healthy!

Thank you for the tips! We're getting our vegetable garden going here in Missouri, and making videos to share it all. Looking to connect with other gardeners to learn tips and share how it all turns out! :)

You are absolutely right! Our soil was dead, but composting is the only way to get a great harvest!

This is not true. Compost is the lazy way that often can cause damage. The best way is to restore the land and the native plants. No compost needed. Religious puppets are continuing to destroy this land because they refuse to respect the land. Who do you think killed and poisoned the soil? I'll give you a clue... They are the most destructive and murderous group of sheep that have existed, and they think jesus is the way. Continuing the destructive cycle of their ancestors started when they came and stole this land

I sure love using compost in my garden, it makes all the difference to soil!! I’m afraid the science just isn’t there for compost tea. This is a video from a science based garden channel on the efficacy of compost tea: ruclips.net/video/4F5uOXhDoB8/видео.htmlsi=-BPCn_-llYyf_m-t. I love this channel and I am not trying to be mean, we all want to use our time doing things that will be effective in our gardens!
    God bless

I can't have a compost pile where I live, but we have a community garden that was built on waste land that was reclaimed. There we worked with a professor from Cornell university that was an avid compost and compost tea user. He taught us how to use a microscope to see what types of organisms we had in our soil, compost and compost tea. Seems like there was a lot of good in the compost tea. Why would it not work if there is good living organisms in the tea? I just looked up Dr. Elaines compost tea video. Worth checking out maybe.

@@jillnewton5630 I mean no disrespect to anyone. I think the science says that the soil is saturated with all the microbes that conditions in the soil allow. If you add more compost to the soil the nutrients will feed the microbes and their numbers will increase very quickly indeed.

Agreed! Compost is the best. However, if the soil has not had had compost or organic matter added and has been baked in the sun, dry with little life (good microbes), why not add compost tea to build the organisms faster. OR if bad bacteria and fungi is higher, seems like that is science in itself. Just food for thought. Our soil starting out was very poor and now is beautiful! Microscopes are amazing! I think that IS science right before your very eyes. And I didn't take your comment as disrespectful! There is always different schools of thought. Thankfully! @@WhatWeDoChannel
