Sofia Coppola's La Traviata - Teatro dell'Opera di Roma

This opera combines two nations - a tragic French love story accompanied by the stirring score of Italy in the form of Guiseppe Verdi.
Coppola, renowned for the sumptuous backdrop in her movie "Marie Antoinette", excels once again in this, her first stage production. The stage sets are simple but stunningly evocative and the costumes, designed by Valentino, complete this opulent creation.
La Traviata directed by Sofia Coppola was performed at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma from 24 May to 30 June 2016 with costumes by Valentino and a cinematic release in July 2017.
