It's been said before, but it bears repeating: If you need proof that this person is a gaming god, look no further than 21:08. If that isn't legendary, frame-perfect timing, I don't know what is.
esuwai Also, I find it hilarious that your ESP run had you dodging the final boss's last attack conventionally, despite ESP being the one Copy Ability (that I know of) which actually CAN dodge the wave with one of its attacks.
+Clanky Woods WHAT that's a ultimate doging move, letting Kirby's Copy Abillity out and the Inhale it back works like the ultimate invisibility frame, Niceeeee! :-)
That's because the last bit of Haltmann's soul was destroyed when the heart shattered. Also, the frequent heart imagery was a symbol of Haltmann's love for his daughter. Yeah, Kirby true final boss fights have a long history of being fucked up.
Watching these runs over and over was a blast. I had been practicing these hammer only runs because I wanted to improve them from 22 minutes. I finally got my dream run yesterday which was an improvement from 15:02 to 13:57. It's not top tier by any means, since doing that fast mashing that consistently is hard for me, but I got all the time saves I wanted like early DDD, and pretty much early everything from the final 4. I honestly lost my mind when it all worked out lol Extra note: When grinding these runs I found out that only for Haltmann (as far as I know) his phase 3 health bar is actually capped earlier than the JP version (compared health bars visually). So while you can still do early Haltmann, it was unintentionally made harder for global releases :' (
Do you move with D-pad while using hammer? I wonder if it's more convenient to do the double "hammer swing" instead of the dash-jumping "ultra hammer swing". Also, your hammer is a beast. It's so powerful combined with i-frames.
I just discovered this speedrun (it’s been four years lmao) but good job! I was just wondering how you do the shooter parts of Star Dream Soul so fast? My best time is 15:22 even though I was only about a minute slower getting to a Star Dream than you.
i'm having a really hard time getting close enough to hit them with the hammer but not close enough to take damage. i can get through the bosses really quickly but by the end of the fight i've take so much damage during my attacks that i'm dead soon within the very next boss.
Dude how did you do that hammer jump thing- Fun fact: I tried doing it but I always get hit. I thought I was the king of kirby but the crown has been taken by you. You are the best.
Hammer vs. Ice splits: Clanky Woods: +0.14 Holo Defense API: -0.74 (-0.88) Susie: -0.87 (-0.13) Mini-Boss Rush 1: -1.3 (-0.43) Mecha Knight: -1.48 (-0.18) Dedede Clones: -2.44 (-0.96) Dedede Clones & D3: -1.43 (+1.01) Mini-Boss Rush 2: -1.66 (-0.23) Haltmann: -5.72 (-4.06) Dark Matter Clone: -5.97 (-0.25) Queen Sectonia: -9.27 (-3.3) Galacta Knight: -10.07 (-0.8) Star Dream Soul OS Phase 1: -7.62 (+2.45) Star Dream Soul OS Phase 2: +0.93 (+8.55) Star Dream Soul OS Phase 3: +1.78 (+0.85) Star Dream Soul OS Final Phase: +4.35 (+2.57) Analysis: Hammer could easily get a sub-12 run if the Star Dream Soul OS fights were optimized. Since the Ice run was actually 10 seconds behind after Galacta Knight, if the Halberd sections were optimized to be the same as they were in the Ice run, then Hammer could easily have a sub-12. Obviously, this won't be easy, because little mistakes in the Star Dream battles REALLY add up. However, I'm sure it will be done if someone is willing to take on the challenge and make Kirby: Planet Robobot history.
Meanwhile, I suck so hard I have to use Wheel and have to also use Kirby Amiibo for UFO right before star dream soul OS fight (although I can no-damage run OS's first phase)
I tried to complete this with Hammer many times especially the final boss, and I keep failing. I mess up a lot, and I get really almost angry at myself for losing. I mess up a lot, and I don't pay attention 😔. I say to myself "If I really want to win, maybe I should stop taking so much damage." There are times where I always attack one bomb to bounce back at Dedede's cannon, and I fail to attack the other one. I'm always the one getting my butt spanked badly against the final boss because these obstacles keep getting in the way of the battle. This is a space battle, not an obstacle course. Either I'm not playing strategically, or I don't know how to do the True Arena the right way.
I used Hammer Flip 14 times in this run... Anyway, Giant Swing has way bigger DPS than Hammer Flip in Planet Robobot. That's why. But still Hammer Flip is better in some case, of course. As you said, Hammer Flip is one of the best move.
What is the combo of attacks on wispy EX? It looks like Hammer Flip -> Hammer swing -> Giant hammer swing -> Giant hammer swing. But that combo dosnt bring him down to half health for me :/
Can you either post a video explaining the jump cancel or point me to somewhere where I can learn it, or can learn it more consistently then what I currently do when attempting it. I want to just get a decent amiiboless time in the true arena and I'm sure this would be a massive help.
Remember this routine, "Use Giant Swing right before landing, then input jump and use Giant Swing again immediately". If you can't manage jump cancel, you should try slowly at first. Don't mash buttons of course. And, watch the screen carefully. Don't depend on the rhythm only. ruclips.net/video/aiRaEHsgveQ/видео.html This is a faster run with Hammer. I think this video will help you more than mine.
+Cyber Kirby I beated it with Poison :-) Poison is freakin handy, it might not do much damage (except for the move Tilting Toxic Tower) but when you spit many Poison clouds and balls, you can rack up damage in no time.
The air attack's animation can be cancelled by jumping immediately as you hit the ground during said attack. As shown here, you can repeat this indefinitely and use the smallest possible jumps to make short work of the bosses. Be warned, though, that smaller jumps = less time in the air = tighter timing.
if the ice video had shooter segments that totalled up to twelve seconds faster than this video, will you be redoing the true arena with hammer at any point with the new shooter segments?
How the heck were you able to do this? How the heck did you find a way to make the shooting segments even faster!? HOW IN THE FRICKIN HECK WERE YOU ABLE TO DISCOVER THAT THING AT 21:09!!?
Use Giant Swing right before landing, then input jump and use Giant Swing again immediately. But this technique is just for speedrun, because it's harder than it looks. You can beat the True Arena without it :)
+esuwai Yeah, I know I can; I got most of the way to the end with Leaf by cheesing my way through most of the bosses with the shield, but Soul OS (the Nova phase) ended up taking me out... My reflexes aren't as good as they were back when I played Triple Deluxe, I guess. Thank you for the advice, by the way! I'll do my best to take down the True Arena~
this is not the strongest ability. Wheel is stronger cause theres a technique where you keep on moving left and right while as a wheel and that makes you *INVINCIBLE* I cheesed a lot of bosses with the wheel.
I imagine speedrunning with the wheel has a higher learning curve. You have to take into account that you are vulnerable as you are turning, and you have to keep track of each enemie's movement timings. Easier said than done, I think.
How to dodge one of the strongest attacks in game?
*Eat your hammer, obviously!!*
Kirby is the only guy I know that can survive a one hit ko attack from eating something.
I love how more than half the run is taken up by Star Dream and its shenanigans
It's been said before, but it bears repeating: If you need proof that this person is a gaming god, look no further than 21:08. If that isn't legendary, frame-perfect timing, I don't know what is.
That's not so great thing, as copying has long invincible than it looks :)
esuwai True, but that's the first time I've seen it used in that fashion. So props there, if nothing else!
Thanks!
esuwai Also, I find it hilarious that your ESP run had you dodging the final boss's last attack conventionally, despite ESP being the one Copy Ability (that I know of) which actually CAN dodge the wave with one of its attacks.
Yes its dash attack looks like it DEACTIVATES KIRBY'S HITBOX
21:08 Did he just drop Hammer and ate it and SURVIVED?!
You can do that. That is one of the three ways to dodge Star Dream Soul OS's final attack. The others are ESP's teleport and Kirby's dodge.
AND HE DIDN'T NEED TO DO THAT BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE SURVIVED AT FULL HEALTH
+EX87 - Or you can just do a properly timed jump to get in between the last two waves.
I know, but the three ways I mentioned are the only ways you can go through the shock-waves and survive.
oh shit hello angie from 2 years ago
yea, this is how i style on heart of ark these days, besides taking the hit at full health
WHOA, when he dodged the heart at 21:06!
yes its really cool how did he dodge that
ultra cool move.
+Clanky Woods WHAT that's a ultimate doging move, letting Kirby's Copy Abillity out and the Inhale it back works like the ultimate invisibility frame, Niceeeee! :-)
Mario helped kirby by giveing a super star to him. Lol
21:27 That collapsing heart makes me feel sad for some reason.
Also, haltmann died from that.
It is truly heartbreaking, and in more ways than one, given the backstory for the fight
That's because the last bit of Haltmann's soul was destroyed when the heart shattered. Also, the frequent heart imagery was a symbol of Haltmann's love for his daughter. Yeah, Kirby true final boss fights have a long history of being fucked up.
Imagine how much time it must've took to animate that broken heart falling apart
that's effort
If would've been more heartbreaking if you DIDN'T dodge that last attack.
TwilightLink37 Actually, the attack only takes out 7/8 of your health, and he still had full health.
Playing the American version, I actually think Hammer's moves do more damage in the Japanese version.
I shut off my phone in disbelief when I saw that trick at the last attack LMAO.
21:08 I had a heart attack. Please don't do it ever again.
The way God intended.
hello yes can i crown you king of kirb
Boss: * summons one-hit KO *
Kirby: *HMMM TASTY WEAPON*
I just realized how obsolete the Hammer Flip has become! I hate that because I loved the Hammer Flip!
The Esp arena run is still more fun to watch
If his fingers are this fast, he must type at like 2000000 WPM
I you'd gotten the 1 star blast at the beginning of phase 1, it'd've been under 12 minutes. An incredible run regardless!
A no ability speed run would be pretty cool to watch. It's much more challenging when you can't attack whenever you want.
I'm still looking for someone who beat either Arena using no abilities
Me, and no guarding or barrel rolling
+tails41yoshi xxmeteorxx
Games and Luigifan
Yes I know
I did the true arena with no ability, too bad that I'm not a youtuber to record it.
GD Sebastian2778 Yeah, I got it done too. Sucky time of 37:08:82 but whatever, it's rewarding enough just to accomplish the feat.
MY GOD THE DODGE AT THE END
THE
FREAKING
DODGE!!!!!!!
Do you move with D-pad while using hammer? I wonder if it's more convenient to do the double "hammer swing" instead of the dash-jumping "ultra hammer swing".
Also, your hammer is a beast. It's so powerful combined with i-frames.
4 years already... *God damn*
Oh boy… 8 years now…
The bosses before the last boss when they teleport for a few frames you can see the hypernova
Its just me or Hammer does even more damage now ? I don't remember doind THAT much damage .
Also , amazing way of dodging the final boss's rings .
Look at the desc. He claims this Hammer is the strongest out of all the Hammers
21:08 "That was a close call, Fox."
another way to gain an ability to nullify the instakill is to scan an amiibo.
The firewalls at the end of Star Dream Soul OS's battle do about 3/4 of your HP bar, not a OHKO.
If you have full health you'll only have a pixel of HP left. They're basically a one hit kill unless you aren't hit by anything else.
I just discovered this speedrun (it’s been four years lmao) but good job! I was just wondering how you do the shooter parts of Star Dream Soul so fast? My best time is 15:22 even though I was only about a minute slower getting to a Star Dream than you.
I'm proud of 20:49... LOL
EDIT: As in my time for the True Arena. That wasn't meant to be a timestamp :P
21:08 JUST HOW!!!!! :O
i'm having a really hard time getting close enough to hit them with the hammer but not close enough to take damage. i can get through the bosses really quickly but by the end of the fight i've take so much damage during my attacks that i'm dead soon within the very next boss.
Now, I know how to avoid a Heart Attack.
Dude how did you do that hammer jump thing-
Fun fact: I tried doing it but I always get hit.

21:08.
Wow.
So, uh I managed to do the same thing you did today when you dodged that last red wave.
:D
so apparently I've been misinterpreting this video: it's just REGULAR Giant Swing being used, not Ultra Giant Swing
Hammer's still extremely powerful.
21:08 WHAT

21:08 ALL JAPANESE IS CRAZY

I think he is an alien.
I think you mispelled Beetle in your description
you are a master my friend.
btw one of my favorite runs ever now lol you're a kirb god
Thanks!
finally, I was waiting for this to come
Also is this tas?
This is not TAS or something, lol. I think if there is a TAS of this, it must be under 11 minutes or less.
you are a beast
esuwai
WHY U NO USE Hammer Flip?!
Seriously though, that's one of the best attacks with hammer!
I used Hammer Flip 14 times in this run...
Anyway, Giant Swing has way bigger DPS than Hammer Flip in Planet Robobot. That's why.
But still Hammer Flip is better in some case, of course. As you said, Hammer Flip is one of the best move.
esuwai I guess you are right there. Giant Swing can be pretty powerful.
+esuwai Are you using cancel inputs to get more out of giant swing? How are you doing it?
It's jump cancel. Use Giant Swing right before landing, then input jump and use Giant Swing again immediately.
What is the combo of attacks on wispy EX? It looks like Hammer Flip -> Hammer swing -> Giant hammer swing -> Giant hammer swing. But that combo dosnt bring him down to half health for me :/
21:08 GODS PLAN
Is it me or do I feel that they should have done it for the wii u as well

This guy is a god + mastered ultra instinct
Can you do Mirror some time soon please, Arena and The True Arena.
(Mirror Abillity)
Sorry, I'm not so interested in Mirror
+esuwai You don't have to say sorry, I was only wondering if you could do it, it's a bit of a pitty but understandable, well I like your videos.
I beat it with Mirror. I refused to use anything else.
+Cyber Kirby I beated it with Poison :-) Poison is freakin handy, it might not do much damage (except for the move Tilting Toxic Tower) but when you spit many Poison clouds and balls, you can rack up damage in no time.
0:23 watch the background
Is zero
This white think is zero
It's supposed to say 0.
How many seconds do you think could be cut from the hammer section and the star dream section?
So how do you do that air hammer trick? It's clearly not his dash air, so what's the trick?
The air attack's animation can be cancelled by jumping immediately as you hit the ground during said attack. As shown here, you can repeat this indefinitely and use the smallest possible jumps to make short work of the bosses. Be warned, though, that smaller jumps = less time in the air = tighter timing.
This is incredible! Can you attempt to do a Ninja Run or a Parasol Run?
Sorry, no. But Ninja Run is already uploaded by ハナブキ _
ruclips.net/video/0SV5K8YrMmM/видео.html
You should check it, it's great run.
IF THIS ISN'T GOD SPEED IDK WHAT IS
Nice
this can be done with any ability, not jus hammer.
jeez, I have a lot to optimize on my Hammer runs if I ever wanna get super good at this; my best Hammer run is over 6 minutes longer than this
21:08 Fucking disrespected Star Dream
if the ice video had shooter segments that totalled up to twelve seconds faster than this video, will you be redoing the true arena with hammer at any point with the new shooter segments?
hmm, nope. I'm very satisfied with this Hammer run. And honestly, recording with webcam is so tiring and hard to play than I thought. :(
How the heck were you able to do this?
How the heck did you find a way to make the shooting segments even faster!?
HOW IN THE FRICKIN HECK WERE YOU ABLE TO DISCOVER THAT THING AT 21:09!!?
It's not that hard. His ability gaining has a full second of invincibility
This Also Happens in Return to Dreamland and Triple Deluxe.
How do you jump cancel? I feel like that would definitely help with how much I'm struggling against the True Arena...

What is the advantage of using the Giant Swing over the Ultra Giant Swing?
Giant Swing has obviously higher DPS than Ultra one. You should try it.
esuwai Okay, thank you.
wow!!!
is ultra hammer swing that much stronger?
I still cant do run cancels yet( i also have a broken circle pad)
Ultra Giant Swing is much less strong than normal one. You should try both.
cool.I'm not sure how to ration my health yet to do those risky moves that favor damage over health
my record is 26 minutes
this is not the strongest ability.
Wheel is stronger cause theres a technique where you keep on moving left and right while as a wheel and that makes you *INVINCIBLE* I cheesed a lot of bosses with the wheel.

How do you do the hammer flip exploit?
Hammer Flip exploit? What do you mean?
+esuwai the midair swing, mainly how you "start it up" per say, is it just A+B in rapid succession?
fucking how
how did you do that thing at 00:36?
dafuq
The most bullshit dodge ever
