I love the countdown in its third phase. Novas can make wishes come true, and Haltmann's wish was to bring his daughter back. However, having lost his memory, he didn't his daughter was actually Susie. So in the third phase, his conscience merges with the machine and tries to fulfill his wish, but since Susie is still alive and in our world, the countdown fails and says "Error".

If You Hear Closely In Star Dream Soul Os's Heart ( 1st Phase ) You Can Hear A Low Pitch Version Of Haltman Screaming When It Gets Hit, Its Super Damn Creepy
Adding on... The more pillars that are broken, the more silent the screams get. Once the final is broken, the scream cannot be heard. At that point, Haltmann is completely erased.
I like to imagine that in this version of the fight, once the final ARK piece flies off, Star Dream gets thrown off the Nova. It's a "cold mindless machine" as the game states it for a reason.
Oh dont worry. Fighting it is even worse :) A lot of the attacks, especially in the heart section, are really hard to dodge. Also, those pulses at the very end? They one shot you, and this boss is only fightable at the end of a super difficult boss rush. Have fun :)

Ok some people dont know this but the peices that phase 3 star dream summons are actually peices of the original nova- and no one knows but the piano keys? yes rhey are from nova as well need proof? look up an image of regular nova-
Wait.... that means that this Clockwork Comet is made of the same pieces of Nova!? Now that I think about it, everything that is needed to summon Nova is the Star-things (I don't know the name) we see in Super Star, and those are gattered throught different planets, Haltmann could use his tecnollogy for obtain these stars very easily and then summon Nova. But, if he did that, why did he not wish to recover Susie? does his memorys already been lost by that time? because we know thanks to Meta Knightmare Ultra (canon or not) that the same Nova we see bebore was still able of granting wishes, so if Haltmann would wish to recover Susie it would happen... Maybe his memorys were already lost before and he just get Nova for complete Star Dream...? Or maybe those things in the Star Dream battle are just references? Ehh, I don't know...
If I had a nickel for every time a Nova was destroyed by a small pink ball flying into it, I would have two nickels, which isn’t much, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
The little pretend ending of the heart sending shockwaves is funny and horrendous at the same time as people might have thought to be done then boom they die from the ahockwave such a cruel move from hal 😂
It’s the size of a planet, though. Never mind accumulating all the water on Pop Star into a container large enough, how would they even get an object that size to break gravitational pull, or more importantly how the fuck could they do so before the enemy notices and has the container bombed to Underwhere?
Wow, amazing job! By the way, during the fight against the heart, if you listen closely you can hear President Haltman's scream whenever Kirby damages the heart.
Though on the bright side? Once he's gone, Star Dream's defenseless, and you can lay down the smackdown upon it and avenge the tragedy of Prez and Susie.

That final attack cost me my first run of the True Arena. Apparently, it not only kills you at anything less than full health, but it inexplicably ignores Leaf Guard.
This takes me back...back to when I first faced off against nova in Kirby super star ultra....it’s really pleasing to see they did a remake for the fight...can you like this comment if you’ve played Kirby super star,or the ultra? If so,thanks
haltmann's memories and soul are erased from existence when you destroy all the pillars, also in the second phase the description says what I said a while ago, by the way the scream you hear is that of star dream but slowed down.
I just noticed something. By destroying the attacks, Kirby can absorb the debris and fire it back at Star Dream Soul OS as stars. That’s not a feature the Halberd normally has, at least not to my knowledge. Star Spit is one of Kirby’s most defining moves, predating even the Copy Abilities, so it’s likely the Robobot Armour is using a stronger variant of Star Spit, the strongest attack Kirby has in his arsenal. The Combo Cannon doesn’t do much damage to Star Dream Soul OS, but the star attack does, and is really the only way to deal good amounts of damage. Also, need I remind you that the Access Arc is actually a Galactic Nova, which are said to be clockwork stars. Perhaps the best weapon against a star is… another star.
OH SHIT THE NOSTALGIA HITTIN!!!! I Remeber Playing This years Ago... When I Was A Kid... I Was About Seven or Eight When I played This... the Video... I FELT LIKE I WAS PLAYING IT.
Soul OS was and is an unforgettable boss. It took months to clear with Poison back then, and years to come back and do it without abilities. However, looking back at the story it gives is outright saddening. After all the years of being used and built upon by Haltmann, Star Dream CAN'T reach its full potential. It turns its numbers into blueprints, tools into attacks, because that's all it knows HOW to do. *Spoilers for Star Allies* To put it in terms of what happened with Void, Star Dream is close to Void Termina. It has reached a great state of being, but continues on a dark path because of the influence it received. Even as both cease to be, they fail to change. Star Dream is fused with shrapnel until the end, and Void Termina's energy blasts out still covered in runes. Recycled or not, I was surprised to find this sort of theme in these types of games. However, that's why they're among my favorite.
That’s an interesting (and true) parallel. I wonder if the galactic novas are meant to be an attempt at creating a mechanical void to defend against galactic crisis’. There’s very little evidence to suggest this but it’s an interesting tidbit to think about
@@andymoore8835 That's (also) in interesting idea, though I doubt it's really been covered. Perhaps they were made for a sort of assistance, or pure curiosity of how such creatures would behave?
imagine the pain of reaching the last form, killing the OS, 1 health and being down using Archer only to die by the ONLY attack in the game that can hit archer
7:00 Background bass in the song fits this moment fantastically. It sounds so deep and powerful, maybe its the deepest and most powerful bass i ever heard
Nothing made me angrier than fighting this boss for the first time and slowly revealing Nova's face underneath the shell. Gave me the determination I needed to kick that guy's ass myself for casually dooming the universe and granting Marx all that power. ... that said, Star Dream is probably only made of Nova's pieces and/or in Nova's image. I kinda doubt Nova's "conscious" still remained in that big hunk of junk
Fun fact: You can actually hear Haltmann screaming and moaning in pain when you hit the pillars in the final phase, it gets way more faint the more you destroy it until once there are no pillars there are no more screams because he is GONE. The pillars that we are destroying are basically killing him as well. So we killed Haltmann to destroy star dream but in a brutal way possible
Our hands were tied. We had no choice. It was either kill Haltmann (who was already nothing more than a bio-unit for Star Dream, and no burning yell of love would save him) (bonus if you get the reference), or see the universe wiped out
I heard that scream that Star Dream Soul OS makes, which sounds like a cat is actually the director's cat Shinya's cat named Tom from what I've heard. The weather vane that sounded like chickens was from chickens that one of the staff had pet chickens kept at home.
If you ever noticed every time Kirby attacks a pillar inside of star dream you can hear Holtman screaming until you break the last pillar You have to listen very carefully to hear it
Good thing I was ready for the desperation attack. Even better thing that I didn't think I had to cheese it with I-frames, as I just found out it ignores I-frames.
I do have one petty hangup about this fight, and that's how Robobot was completely excluded from the finale. I would've loved it if we still get to carry the Robobot while fighting the heart to close off the True Arena in a grand way. Yeah, it'll make it less hard, but it's not like the Robobot is invincible, so it's possible to make it a challenge.
When this boss's pause description said its estimated victory percentage was 99.99%, it wasn't lying.

It's so creepy and ominous. But little things like this are what make me love Kirby games
Well if you think about kirby blowing up his internal organs pretty sure you'd be screaming in pain too.
@@britishboi2722 or at least whatever the hell is left of him.
I remember the first time I got to this boss, my jaw fucking dropped to the floor once I realized that Star Dream was Galatic Nova, considering Super Star Ultra was the first Kirby game I had. Planet Robobot will always be my favorite Kirby game
And then, there's the last phase in Soul OS.
No one cares about your opinion, anime otaku girl
If You Hear Closely In Star Dream Soul Os's Heart ( 1st Phase ) You Can Hear A Low Pitch Version Of Haltman Screaming When It Gets Hit, Its Super Damn Creepy
You mean in the end when it makes it’s final breath before dying
@@adamgz12 i mean yeah, but I never noticed it in the game before I made this comment, now I know it
Adding on...
The more pillars that are broken, the more silent the screams get.
Once the final is broken, the scream cannot be heard. At that point, Haltmann is completely erased.
@@constellationmaker145I can still hear the scream if the final pillar is destroyed
I like to imagine that in this version of the fight, once the final ARK piece flies off, Star Dream gets thrown off the Nova. It's a "cold mindless machine" as the game states it for a reason.
That last ditch attack though. Such epic detail you only otherwise see in castlevania bosses
I love the final boss of the game. It’s probably my favorite boss in the entire series
6:45 Nova? Is that you?
Kirba Superstar yes
Kirba Superstar no it’s just one of many novas

PerryIceFire i dont think so
This is literally one of the most difficult-looking bosses I've ever seen in any game, wtf
Oh dont worry. Fighting it is even worse :)
A lot of the attacks, especially in the heart section, are really hard to dodge. Also, those pulses at the very end? They one shot you, and this boss is only fightable at the end of a super difficult boss rush. Have fun :)
I haven’t even gotten to this boss
I’ve only gotten to round 10
@@Awesoman9001 Is not one shot but still 90% of your max HP so yeah, is a one shot unless you are a god managed to beat this without damage
This boss took me at least 10 to 20 tries to finally beat
The worst part about it is this is the final fight in a long gauntlet where you have to fight the more difficult version of every boss in the game with only one life and extremely limited healing. It took me 8 hours of attempts before I toppled this challenge.
Am I the only one who noticed that Star dream spells H A L during the transitions of their second phase?

Marx: crap, so much for getting power from nova to go into my soul form
@cheems_the_bingus not to me
@fletchthecheem hell no, I could barely get half way through the true arena
It’s pretty sad how you can hear haltmann screaming in pain in the OS phase
Kirby is essentially killing his organs. What a way to go.
"Fox, do a barrel Roll". wait, wrong game... no.. actually.. This is similar to the Area 6 boss fight in SF64. The second phase is a recycled Andross.
I noticed that too but I really do love this boss fight and think it adds a lot of cool fun new stuff even if it copied star fox.
6:40 seeing star dream spawn that close to the screen for the first time generally scared the shots out of me.

Kirby Planet Robobot last fights in a nutshell
Haltmann: easy, like Susie
Star Dream: Ok, he is controling Haltmann
Egg Star Dream: Strange, Star Dream Is so small
Nova Star Dream: "Who the heck is Star Dream"
Heart of Nova: *_just wat the heck happened to Haltmann_*
He turned into a damn heart core.
I genuinely had a much harder time with this than with anything in the soulsborne series.
Ok some people dont know this but the peices that phase 3 star dream summons are actually peices of the original nova- and no one knows but the piano keys? yes rhey are from nova as well need proof? look up an image of regular nova-
I never noticed that! My mind is blown.
That's rather interesting!
Wait.... that means that this Clockwork Comet is made of the same pieces of Nova!?
@@gabriellopez4100 I believe it was said there are multiple Novas, and Haltmann just got his hands on one separate from the one from Super Star/Ultra.
@@katiemckinney9456he actually created the nova himself. He found the blueprints somewhere with Susie and then tried to rebuilt it as best as he could
Kirby: not that gold again! kirby: ah shit here we go again
If I had a nickel for every time a Nova was destroyed by a small pink ball flying into it, I would have two nickels, which isn’t much, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
If kirby ate Doof, he would gain the power of INATORS!
wait didn't marx destroy the first one
The little pretend ending of the heart sending shockwaves is funny and horrendous at the same time as people might have thought to be done then boom they die from the ahockwave such a cruel move from hal 😂
I wonder why Kirby decided to do this big fight when he could just throw some water at it
It’s the size of a planet, though. Never mind accumulating all the water on Pop Star into a container large enough, how would they even get an object that size to break gravitational pull, or more importantly how the fuck could they do so before the enemy notices and has the container bombed to Underwhere?
Well, that got removed after Return to Dreamland. I mean, they brought it back in Star Allies but I think they were a game too late
15:15 this heart later than became the Jamba heart in star allies :D
uhmmmm no
that is another heart
a long fun fight where the battle theme SLAPS, i love that
Wow, amazing job!
By the way, during the fight against the heart, if you listen closely you can hear President Haltman's scream whenever Kirby damages the heart.
When you destroy a tower in the heart phase yo hear the haltman voice
Mauricio that's because you are drestroying what is left of haltmann
Though on the bright side? Once he's gone, Star Dream's defenseless, and you can lay down the smackdown upon it and avenge the tragedy of Prez and Susie.

haltmann's memories and soul are erased from existence when you destroy all the pillars, also in the second phase the description says what I said a while ago, by the way the scream you hear is that of star dream but slowed down.
*Spoilers for Star Allies*
To put it in terms of what happened with Void, Star Dream is close to Void Termina.

7:00 Background bass in the song fits this moment fantastically. It sounds so deep and powerful, maybe its the deepest and most powerful bass i ever heard
Nothing made me angrier than fighting this boss for the first time and slowly revealing Nova's face underneath the shell. Gave me the determination I needed to kick that guy's ass myself for casually dooming the universe and granting Marx all that power.
... that said, Star Dream is probably only made of Nova's pieces and/or in Nova's image. I kinda doubt Nova's "conscious" still remained in that big hunk of junk
14:49 final attack
Fun fact: You can actually hear Haltmann screaming and moaning in pain when you hit the pillars in the final phase, it gets way more faint the more you destroy it until once there are no pillars there are no more screams because he is GONE. The pillars that we are destroying are basically killing him as well. So we killed Haltmann to destroy star dream but in a brutal way possible
Our hands were tied. We had no choice. It was either kill Haltmann (who was already nothing more than a bio-unit for Star Dream, and no burning yell of love would save him) (bonus if you get the reference), or see the universe wiped out
FUN? Huh..
The chaotic music makes it even more horrifying!
I heard that scream that Star Dream Soul OS makes, which sounds like a cat is actually the director's cat Shinya's cat named Tom from what I've heard. The weather vane that sounded like chickens was from chickens that one of the staff had pet chickens kept at home.

And at the second kill-blast at the end, you need to get out the Robobot or else it'll hit you.
Man I have scars from spending like an hour on the true arena and dying to the final attack.
