Florida has 65 native species of assassin bugs. WHO KNOWS how many of these will someday be capable of carrying Chagas?! Not to mention 1) international travelers who have no idea they might have contracted Chagas. And 2) non-native assassin bugs are coming into the US, in shipments of produce and nursery plants. And of course, US doctors never think to test for Chagas, or Babesia, etc.
My dog and I are constantly getting bitten and our blood sucked out here in southwest Arizona even during broad daylight, they are ferocious little demons!
Did they get the swollen eye? I wonder if I have bn bitten but didn’t know it, but never have a swollen eye or lymph’s. How do we get a pcp to test for this or would this be tested by an infectious disease de?
I had 2 of these in my house in Southern Ontario, Canada I am sure of it. My kid had Romana's sign on his eye one morning which led to migrating bulls eye rashes all over his body. Doctors tested for Lyme (which came back negative) but refused to test for Chagas disease. My son is still ill and I don't know what to do for him..Doctor's won't listen. I did NOT misidentify these bugs. I kept them in a container for over a year but nobody was interested in identifying them for me
You’re right I live in Mississauga and they were all over my backyard and I feel like I was a bit two years ago and I had a big bump on the back of my head and recently now I’m having the same symptoms
They're here feasting on me and my dog even in broad daylight here in southwest Arizona! Unlike mosquitoes and ticks from California they don't seem to be deterred by raw garlic, neem oil or even citronella!
@@tommypickles8432 I believe it, unfortunately 😔 COLD PRESSED NEEM OIL is a good natural pest control, can be applied liberally on most bodies! Dogs too!
@@clawskitt-3841 Yes, for me the swelling didn’t begin until a few days later. The crazy thing is you don’t even know if you were bit or not until it swells, and at that point you have to seek medical attention. I’m glad I did because I kept getting it written off as a mosquito bite and the only reason I knew it wasn’t a mosquito bite was because a few days after the swelling I had a high fever and began vomiting (was not fun). Took antibiotics and explained to my doc that it was a kissing bug; didn’t care that they thought I was crazy or not because I wanted to spread awareness and to warn others...

Most American homes are screened and tight enough to keep the bugs out. Not the case in impoverished Central America. You have little to feat in Kansas.
I wonder why Trypanosoma cruzi is in the Pfizer vaccine and what of the relationship of Ivermectin as a treatment for Chagas disease. both are very controversial ATM

I didn’t know it could be in United States. Chagas is something that I learned in Argentina when I was studying to became a elementary teacher. Thanks

They may have been Eastern Boxelder Bugs (Boisea trivittata) which are indigenous to North America and are harmless.
Without a doubt they live in Ohio. Chagas is only being found in Southern states but they are certainly in ohio.

my guess is no, because antibiotics work on bacteria. these chagas guys are parasites which are biologically different
Could it be a ‘Hydra’ Organism?
No. Entirely different
