To add up to what's on the video.
*It is highly unlikely, that US will offer us F 35 after the S 400 Deal, so we should keep that out of our mind.
*We need better Air defence systems, thankfully we are working on it.

Very much agree with defence matrix my plan for next 5 years will be
    1 . 90 rafales total
    2. 83 mk1a tejas
    3.24-36 growler like ew aircraft
    4.90 mig 29 upg
    5. 50 mirage 2000
    6. 270 super sukhoi this is very important currently after rafale we have to upgrade this asap as this is the backbone.
7.12-15 awacs in total minimum 10- 15 refuller as these are force multiplier.
I request govt to allow us to donate some contributions in defence fund and modernize our airforce at earliest bcoz then only we can live peacefully with our 2 most worst neighbors .

Agree, though roughly it's up to 33-34 squadrons, considering we are retiring Mig 21s and Tejas Mk 1a replaces them. 8 more squadrons could be AMCA & ORCA ? MWF should replace Mirages ?? I am not sure about Jaguars though, I read Darin 3 is very costly & it's probably not worth it.

    6 Squadrons of Tejas Mk 1 A (108-120)
3 Squadrons of Modified aircraft or new aircraft for SEAD / Electronic Warfare (54-60)

Basic Air Def tactics remain constant. If an ac is launched in the G/A or the anti-shipping roles, it will still carry both versions of MICA missiles. But if it is launched in a dedicated A/D role, it will carry its full complement of AA missiles, a mix of the MICA and the Meteor missiles.

I appreciate you for telling the truth to the viewers .
Mig -29 will only be around 60 approx, because half of them were purchased during 1980s hence, they will retire. More Rafale will only be (36+36)= 72 , and mirages are already down to 49 8 are trainers btw , tejas mk2 will not come until 2030 not even a single squadron
    Future sqdns
    272 (100+ super sukhois 150-160 current sukhois)
    41 mirages (8 trainers)
    Rafales 72
    Mig 29 - 60-70
    Tejae mk1 40
    Mk1a 83

Hope our defence experts thinks the same and act promptly on the same because when you have 2 such bad neighbours you cannot afford any delays when it comes to National security. Even if you need to compromise on other departments except defence should surely do that because security must be our government's utmost priority because you can grow your country or economy only when your country is secure from all kind of threats.

Well, very good video indeed. I shall add my few cents, my presumptions- 1. When we work out squadrons requirement we must combine navy together. Now under theater command lot of resources will be/ can be used in common. 2. Army /IAF/ Navy will require many surveillance and attack drones, we must have 25 years plan for this crucial item.
Now let us start 1. IAF/IN combined squadrons requirement for two front war and sea protection, 55 nos (42+13). For IN procure 2 squadrons of F18E super Hornets, it has SEAD and DEAD capacity + F18 growler 1 sq for dedicated missions. 2. All Russian aircrafts like mig 21/29 & Mirage will retire in coming time but Jaguar with new (under development) indian engines HTFE 40 can be used for another 30 years. Lot of air frame life left. 3. Super Sukhoi is a must but to be supported by 2 squadrons of F15 EX . This will create enhanced IAF's capacity to strike deep in China. 4. 36 Rafels to be procured in span of 5 years. So total Rafels will be 72 nos , to be supplemented by ORCA / TEDBF 10 squadrons for IAF//IN combined. 5. LCA MWF 10 squadrons. 6. Air assets to be permanently stationed on A&N islands 2 squadrons of LCA mk 1A..
These are my few thoughts. Thanx for reading.

    272 super sukhoi

Our country have a long way to go. But govt and Defense forces have to follow some strategy for economy as well as indigenization of techs. I think IAF and DRDO should focus more on ORCA platform and as I know India now have sufficient techs for this.

    What about this idea
    1. 108(6 squadron's) f15 ex
    2. 54 f35lightening ( 12 f35b (navy), 24 f35c( navy) , 18 f35a ( airforce) )
    3. 54 more dassult rafale ( 90 rafales total - 5 squadrons)
    4. 2 american class amphibious assault ships
    5. 2 juan class amphibious assult ships
    The 12 f35 - b can operate from them.
The remaining 24 from ins vikrant or ins vishal
Is it possible for the armed forces to put priority alternatively - like one year priority for air force, next year for navy , next year for army etc
The approximate cost for the above aircrafts will be about 14 billion dollars
After this we could close the foreign fighter jet market for our armed forces forever except for spares

Great Analysis! F35 I are far more capable than F/A 18 Growler. The price difference is not very much either. F35 working with Rafael will be a great combo!!

Good analysis. In my opinion the Rafael 4 we need 3 squadrons & remaining has to be reappear/Predator attack drones. Mig35 naval version can be a backup too. As I strongly believe from past experience India can't be in time on its Tejas Mk1, Mk2, ORCA & AMCA MK1 & Mk2. Logistics & Integration of growler not sure need a detail version on this from you. Ramping up Tejas 2 & 3 production lines or outsourcing manufacturing to private players will be the key

Adding Rafales two more sqdrns of F 4 variant will keep IAFs morale high and we will get time to develop mk2 orca amca as well

I agree with you on ordering 36 more Rafale directly from France and more LCA TEJAS Mk1A,But Investing time and money on Tejas Mk2 now is a complete waste...Instead we should acquire Gripen NG or F-21 in large numbers (200-250) quickly and take guarantee of assistance in TEDBF and AMCA programs.

I personally think ki 2 squadrons aur Tejas mk1a ki krni hi chahiye but mmrca 2.0 mein making last big import order 114 Rafael lene chahiye as it will make 150 rafael which will give us both time to work on indigenous planes plus deterrence to both enemies as we know 150 Rafael + 271 su30mki will give us very good deterrence but make sure this is last big import order.

Air India and Jet Airways have a fleet of A330s, A320s and some related aircrafts. As both these airlines are grounded or loss making. IAF can take these aircrafts from these airlines and after evaluating the aircrafts IAF can convert these aircrafts into AWACS and Tankers using conversion kits and Fulfil the requirement in a short time period.

Government has decided to go for 18 twin seater foc tejas instead of earlier 8 , so total would be 16 IOC + 16 foc + 18 foc trainer + 83 mk1A = 133 , hence production line won't be idle before mk1A goes to production ! Additional mk1A don't make sense since MK2 would go into mass production from 2027 when mk1A production ends

    My 2030 fleet assumption -
    13sq. Su 30 mki
    8sq. Lca mk1a
    6sq. Mig 29 upg.
    6to8sq. Tejas mk2 (mwf)
    5to6sq. Rafale
1sq. Amca (there is greater possibility of no mk2 , as almost most of the technologies will be available including engines)
    For attack
    3sq. Mirage 2000
7sq. Jaguars (old but still very effective in their respected role )

We need about 45 to 60 billion usd worth defence hardware....and immediately.
Its not just the jets we need...subs...sub killers...anti aircraft defence...anti ballistic defence...spy sats, sat killer...new tanks...entire military upgrade...comm framework...massive war exercise....with simultaneouly funding #atmanirbhar projects.
Atleast 80 billion usd is needed....govt can issue war bonds...US did this once...not sure may be during WW1. But this is needed asap.
    Enjoyed ur vids....subscribed. Keep posting.

First time I am giving comment but I totally agree with u abt rafale fights but we should wait for the upgrade version to come but it will take time to come so Our country need 3 more rafale sqd total 5. And push for LCA. And also upgrade our Su30s. With new engine which is not good and also upgrade it's rader and avionics and counter measures and also focus on 2 engine version of Tejas and AMCA.

Totally agreed, India has to focus on network centric warfare and also on Directed Energy weapons development along with the developments in the field of hypersonics (6th Gen Fighters) ... Ready or not, China is going to field them in the next decade and we are already behind in the 5th Gen Ecosystem.

    I have a view on MMRCA 2.0
New jets ki evaluation wagera krne me time lgega...
Rafale already is a great aircraft & MMRCA 2.0 me agar Rafale hi select krte hai to faida ye rahega ki jo humare pehle k trained pilots honge Rafale k vo naye pilots ko train kr sakte hai... Plus our airforce will be familiar with Rafale.... & Rafale is a promising aircraft honestly bolu to.... Baaki please reply me agar ap meri baat se sehmat nahi rakhte....

Just at the start of Covid crisis, there was a consensus in South block that they first must develop army and than comes the airforce.
However, the current crisis mold the thinking towards airforce. And now they understand the utility of planes and helis.

India must go for 100 hitech fighters from America even if it comes in flying conditions to compete with cheat china. Then bulk of other fighters must come from tejas and its updated version. This way we can keep our tech updated and deterrence against cheat china as well keep developing aviation tech through tejas.
