Todays video is going to show how to spot a fake Tudor Black Bay 58.
A friend of the channel brought a relatives Tudor Black Bay 58 into our store for authentication - sadly it turned out to be a fake.
We thought we'd bring this particular scam to your attention.

Let's not lie here. A fake Tudor is high IQ. Get the look and appeal from a luxury watch, while low key enough not to assume replica, but still the respect they assumed you spent on it. Watch heads will respect it, while not caring enough to actually inspect it. Genius.
Still end up being a broke bitch lying to oneself. For the price of a quality fake, I would much rather proudly rock a Prospex or Presage and be able to chat with fellow enthusiasts without feeling embarrassed.

The movement in the fake looks like the DG2813 Which is an absolutely terrible movement, it will loose you around 2-3 minutes per day and will break on you very quickly. Just get a cheaper real watch, it will be more reliable and for the price of the fake there are some decent watches around the same price range
So basically, unless you can open the watch before you buy it you’re not gonna know. The fake here without the genuine next to it would easily pass for the real thing imo.
Didn't even know there were fake BB58s. Had three of them all from official ADs. Now just have the silver version.

I have a real BB58, but it might be worth picking one up for the bracelet alone
That was my though too. If I had ended up being offered one from the AD on a strap, I would have copped a fake for the bracelet. I doubt it would have the ceramic bearings for the clasp though.
Not gonna lie, I’ve done a lot of studying with TUDORs, as I love the brand and intend to buy many more in the future. I can tell the difference in every shot and within about 1-2 seconds. It does take some time, but once you notice all of the flaws, they become glaringly obvious.
Does this fake have a 'ghost' position on the crown, as most fakes of this model seem to? (When you pull the crown out to the first position on the genuine BB58, the watch stops and hands move when crown is turned, on most fakes, the first postion does nothing as the movemnt used is designed for a date quickset)

Does the fake keep chronometer time and have a 70 hour power reserve? I would hope not...otherwise, what's the point of the authentic?
Yes keep chronometer time. However we doubt it would of kept good time for years like the real one. It’s kept around 48 hours power reserve
@@FineWatchClubMedia Well, even my Rolex SD fell out of chronometer time after a few years and needed regulation.
These knock-offs are kind of ruining the specialness of the real watches if they are just as good. At least there is a better power reserve on the real thing. 48 hours is even better than the ETA 42 hours.
I guess if one is concerned if theirs is authentic and doesn't want to have the back removed, they can test the power reserve.
Tudor inhouse movement is a 4hz with 28800bph, while nh35 is 3hz movement. It's a very well recognizable thing between them.
@@Memmaao The one in this video looks to be ETA 2824-2 which is also 4hz 28800bph. In fact the previous Tudor movement was based on the 2824 until they started manufacturing their own MT5402.

I have had mine serviced and it’s real and my pup is surrounded by a rose gold color. So not sure if that is an accurate indication of fake or real.
Why on earth would any watch that is barely four years old need a service?

There was something wrong with the movement. QC issue but they were able to repair it quickly. Now my BB58 runs perfectly. Take everywhere I go now and took the place of my 5 digit sub.

Why?
If you just want a watch to wear, that keeps time and can be made waterproof (service at a place that will deal with fake watches) you will find these watches perfectly adequate, however as years go by and you service it and you form a bond with it and maybe you have memories with it, then it gets handed down, how are your children going to feel knowing that special watch they inherited with all the memories was a fake.
Best way to tell a fake is by who's wearing it.
have u seen a black bay ceramic being faked yet...? they have viewable casebacks so i dont think they can replicate it well

White lume is a dead giveaway. Was able to spot the fake instantly.
I honestly wouldn’t mind having a fake tutor for one simple reason I’d heart I’d hate to have a $5000 watch scratched it will drive me mental. I still don’t know where to even buy a decent fake tutor. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks for reading.

This is not a good indicator. I drive an Opel Astra. Bought second hand (great value) and wear a Speedmaster Professional among others.
It’s just that I love quality watches and don’t give a shit about cars.
