The Case 1070 Power Shift Teardown Part 2

Here's Part 2 to the Power Shift Teardown. We don't get it all tore down in this video due to lacking one tool to get the shifting shafts out. Like I said before we are amateurs. We have made some mistakes. You'll see them in this video as we were following the service manual to a newer version of the power shift.

Yep! We have never done this ourselves before so we’re rookies. Service Manual is helpful but it’s not got all the tips and tricks of what people have learned over the years.

You probably have it off already but if you support the cab and pull the bell housing off the trans it makes it 10 times easier to get that top plate off, you can just slide it out the front with two people. A little more stuff to remove to do it but its saves the back and the fingers. When we first done it, we removed the steps and then man handled it out the left side of the cab. When we went back together we wrapped a chain around the top of the cab and then used a come along through the hole and picked it up that way.

That would be very helpful. A lot of our time has been cleaning the top of the transmission off. Looking back, we should have power washed the top of the transmission off before putting it in the shed.
