- When Chris and Bob Atherton got married, they decided to build their family through adoption. They've adopted kids from around the world and many with challenging health conditions. It's an incredible story of life, love and family. Nearly 40 years and 14 kids later, they continue to run a busy household. Rest in Peace, Becca -- the daughter with the heart condition. She died on Oct. 12, 2018. What a beautiful, kindhearted and generous soul she was. I've tried to raise my daughter right and she's turning into an honest, sensitive and caring 16-year-old. But even if she is just a fraction of the kind of girl Becca seems to have been, I will be overjoyed.

I kept thinking how sweet she seems. Also, I kept trying to think about whose voice she reminds me of and it reminds me of Miley Cyrus. Their parents did a great job. They all seem kind and thoughtful.

This family has been my family since I’ve been born. My mom met them when I was in the hospital in Phoenix. I love them more than words can express. I think I’m gonna go visit them today. I have a tattoo for Becca who passed not too long ago. I miss her every day. I love these people. They are so genuine and are truly the best people I’ve ever met. Love you Chris and Bob.

This couple are more like ANGEL'S! I've never seen two people with such a big heart. The world would be a better place if there were more people like them in it! We should all learn something from these two people! They set a great example as to what GOD created us to be like!

I Waa adopted after my mother had me taken away by CAS . She Was a drug addict and very young. I never seemed to fit well into my adoptive family as they had their own blood daughter a year after adopting me. Just watching this made me want to be a part of this family. Very fortunate
I'm crying about both the parents idea about adopting kids with major health issues and giving them a better life... Such parents are real inspiration 🥰😍😘

There is more love, joy and gratitude in this family than you usually see in most biological families. What a beautiful demonstration of what a family should be like, whether they are biologically related or not. They are as close to being a perfect family as we will ever find. Love them all.

As a mom, I can only imagine the work they put into all the hospital and doctor visits, medicine schedule, etc. They are angels sent by god and given the power to give these kids a life 💜

Believe me, there is a very great need for foster parents and foster-to-adopt parents. Having been a foster parent to 22 kids, there are too many kids in foster care and not enough getting adopted.
The matriarch Atherton’s are superb! What an amazing couple to take in so many children from all over the world! There are no words that can describe how wonderful you are!!!! THANK YOU for keeping these humans alive and giving them everything they need! In my eyes you’re heroes!

50 pills a day .... wow man I’m so grateful for life like that doesn’t even seem real and the way mom said it with her strong smile shows how beautiful life really is.
