Don't know if anyone mentioned this - but your AI gunner's precision and speed are determined by your score in the gunnery range when you are a TC in other missions.
You also gotta take into consideration it by each vehicle type. not just one vehicle. If you want to make sure your nation or host nations vehicle can hit steel on target, you might as well go to the range. Whenever I do anything, I go to the range first and shoot the Bradley and Tanks gunnery and try to get close to 1000. I usually end up being at 960+
or you can do what we would do IRL and manually input the range in the CCP. that will fix the issue OR have a battlesight range indexed in the CCP so you can hit the battlesight button... 1200 for Sabot, 900 for heat, 600 for Coax and 300 for Canister.....

Every time I hear gripes about graphics I just LMAO. Obviously, some will be that superficial while completely missing the immersive, dynamic armored warfare Steel Beast delivers. Especially in the multiplayer realm the "game" is unmatched. Just for context, I also own IL-2's Tank Crew, and GHPC both good titles in their own respects, but pale in comparison to be honest, and that's not meant as disrespect. The header for this channel goes like: " I cover tactical, and immersive games " Well, Im putting my marker out now, Phan, you'll end up buying the game, if that's the truth. Mark my words.
Appreciate the love and support! When I first put out my GHPC video, I got LOTS of comments from people (probably kids) who said, "WT/WOT was better." Funny enough, I was expecting it for this video. I sometimes get those in my other videos, but you just learn to shrug them off. My conclusion is this: The same generation of people/kids who are saying "the graphics sux" and can't appreciate good game mechanics are probably the same kids who've said that GTA6 gameplay leaks have bad graphics, despite that it's still in development.
@@PhanPhantasy War Thunder has probably the next best armour modelling, ie modelling penetration, that I can think of; the game it's attached to however... Post Scriptum, uhh I mean Squad 44, Hell Let Loose and regular Squad have pretty good penetration simulation, but it's not a guaranteed that you'd always be able to crew a Tank. And that's kind of it when it comes to tank games. I am personally no interested in WoT because it doesn't simulate wiping out an entire crew with a well placed shot; and that's like half of the appeal of tank games to me. I'd love a multiplayer tank game that was a bit more of a simulator than War Thunder, but maybe Steel Beasts is a bit much for me
I also own this sim, albeit a bit older version. What i usually do is create a mission and just watch the battle unfold. The immersion for me is there. Sometimes i still do manual stuff like shooting, but i often play "god".
From my experience GHPC and even WoT are great to fill that tank experience in a small amount of time. SB is great for weekends where I have a lot more free time and most groups set up times to play co-op or pvp.
Phan…have a look at it in the Finnish Karelia training area video. Its posted on RUclips…. SB Pro is a true study sim…and as a former M60 and M1 guy…its very accurate. Interesting as it shows how it is employed by actual militaries. As a former tanker i can say this is head and shoulders above the million(s) dollar UCOFT (unit conduct of fire trainers) we used back in the 90s. Learning curve is steep but not horrible. The biggest issue (sim vs game) is playability versus realism…and of course, the “pixie dust” aspect of having to TC, GUN and Drive essentially …those are automated to an extent but the bouncing around positions during combat is trying sometimes. All in all though this is a great sim…i spent many years at NTC in CA and it was fun to run it back “virtually” and roam around the old stomping grounds map and shoot stuff up…anyway…subbed..keep up the good work…the “i need more than world of tanks crowd” needs more spokesmen!
Thanks you so much! I will definitely study through this sim! I'll love to keep in touch with you some day about the m60 and the M1. Perhaps an interview like l did with my Leopard 2 Gunner interview. 😉
Yeah, I've been playing versions of it since 2003 and there's still things to learn about it. The getting to know how the vehicles work is generally the easy part, the thing that keeps me going with it is the actual tactics and employment of them effectively.
Steel Beasts also has a more comprehensive simulation of infantry and artillery. Not sure that GHPC has checked either of those boxes off yet. GHPC is still very tank-heavy, at the expense of other important battlefield context setters like fortifications, engineers, etc.
I love the fact that you can do CFF adjustments, FFE, Immediate suppression, Time on Target, on command, Smoke and Illum if doing night missions. You also get that engineer asset that can breach a minefield and mark lanes OR conduct FASCAM based on the depth and density of the mine field.
@@CCM1199 Steel Beasts is simply a superb simulator, incorporating so many important factors affecting tank operations outside of tanks themselves. I really need GHPC to understand this before i'm willing to commit to it.
Just from this short video I already want to buy this. I have seen some things about SB over the last 10 years or so but never really dove into it. Been getting into GHPC lately and think this is a great next step. I volunteer at a tank museum and have spent a fair amount of time inside real tanks and IFVs, so having full proper interiors is a huge plus for me. One question, does this sim feature all current gen vehicles or are there some older ones such as M60s, Leopard 1s, BMP1s, etc? As those are the tanks I work with irl at the museum.
I'm glad that I'm not the only who's thinking the same with GHPC. Yes, Steel Beast does have some older gen stuff like the M60a3 TTS, bmp1s and leo 1. A few people have made some Fulda gap scenarios too. They also have some prototype tanks too.
@@PhanPhantasy That's awesome. I would love to see the Leopard C2, as that and a couple Dutch 1A5s is what I've worked on IRL. We have 2 M60s, I think one is an A1 RISE and the other is an A3. Been a while since I've worked with them though.
@@PhanPhantasy I have been a volunteer at the Ontario Regiment Tank Museum in Oshawa, Ontario since 2015. Especially for Aquino tank weekend around the end of June.
SB Pro PE is cheaper than DCS with two modules, probably cheaper than anything spent on garbage like Warthunder, only slightly more than a new AAA COD title.......the price really shouldn't be an objection if you're seriously into simming. I've played Steel Beasts since SB 1 (yes, there was a Steel Beasts 1!), and it's always been worth it. GHPC is great in that it's hitting the 'sim' market for near-modern tanks at normal game prices - just remember that SB Pro PE has a LOT of crewable platforms, an amazingly complex and powerful mission editor, and a TON of depth (including all the snooze-fest serious sim type stuff, like waiting for hours for repairs, watching from the sidelines while an engineer unit breaches a minefield etc) It makes basically zero concession to 'gameplay' as it was originally intended as a crew trainer, and almost every single feature is intended for pure functionality. The SB forums has a ton of info and some great people. I still have my little cast metal tank that Ssnake sent me :)
What an odd comparison. SB Pro is cheaper than DCS with 2 modules. DCS is a flight sim, SB is a tank sim. SB is also cheaper than a 5 year wow subscription or a new car. So what? If you were comparing 2 tank sims then I'd understand but saying this is cheaper than something else completely unrelated, just makes no sense.
I have the hardcopy of Steelbeasts (original) and steelbeasts gold. I put input into the game with Ssnake many moons ago and now Steelbeasts Pro PE is being used in the CCTT systems across the simulation in the military. on a friday night we used to have a 4hr session in game conducting one operation. I dont remember if they still do Fulda Gap campaigns. but my favorite mission since the original steelbeasts was 6K Front with A2 ammo as the stipulation. loved it
GHPC is off to a running start to be sure, but it is still very raw as well. SBpro -- when understood and used to its potential, is a very powerful land battle simulator. It's wrong to just think of Steel Beasts as just a "Tank Simulator" -- and there is a reason army, and private consultant groups across the globe use this program as a training syllabus.
@@Tamburello_1994 My point was more level of detail and ease of play. Il-2 has "start engine" as a bindable key, DCS has you looking around the cockpit to flip switches. GHPC has "toggle night sight" and "lase target", I'm assuming Steel Beasts has more in depth controls
@@TheWhoamaters Not really. In SBpro, you can, if you like, toggle switches that are modeled with the interiors -- it's strictly a preference thing because it's completely programable across all peripherals. I play combo Thrustmaster Warthog + rudder peds, mouse and keyboard. TrakIr an opt as well, but I don't prefer not. Using your example -- Default "Start Engine" in SBpro is "SHIFT-BKSPCE" -- how diff is that?
@@Tamburello_1994 You've proved my point, Steel Beasts has that level of detail. GHPC is realistic and immersive but it is simplified in comparison. That was my whole point.
@@TheWhoamaters Well, actually -- I think what I'm saying is it has both. You can play SB strictly from mouse and keyboard -- just like GHPC. In fact -- that is the default preferred method. Me personally, I find it more realistic to use my joystick as an aiming / shooting device as opposed to the mouse. (The precision of the Warthog)
@@PhanPhantasy Haha War Thunder instincts coming in Also, I was thinking of getting steel beasts. I came across the website and I don't understand which license I need to get. Can you please help explain this to me?
@dim_sim142 sure, I'll paste what I said from a previous post. You can go to esimgames.com to find it. In terms of payment there are a few options that may be confusing, so let me try my best to break it down: First Option: One Time Payment The one time payment is $115 USD. It comes with a USB Code meter for licenses. If there's a major update, which is not very often, you'll have to pay for the upgrade, which shouldn't be too much. Second Option: Timely Subscription There's monthly ($10), 4 months ($29.50), and 12 months ($49.50). You get the full game if you choose to do a timely subscription. I highly recommend doing the monthly one first ($10) to see if you enjoy it. There is a learning curve to it, since it is a sim game but the tutorials in game are sufficient. You can start with either the Leopard 2 or the M1 Abrams. If you're in my discord, you can always ask us, we got a few players who know a lot of Steel Beasts. I hope this helps!
SB Pro is a complete sandbox that allows you to do whatever you want whether that's a tank 1v1 or battalion vs battalion. GHPC is a fun arcade game for a short round of fun. I much prefer SB Pro as the AI is much more competent (both friendly and enemy), planning stages are really fun, and the mission editor/map editor.
I don't know how fair it is to call GHPC an arcade game just because of SB. Keep in mind games like world of tanks and war thunder still exist, and THOSE would be considered arcade. GHPC might be lacking in some areas, but doesn't deserve the "Arcade" title.
No worries. I was like that too. There's a one month liscenes that you can try out. Start with learning one tank, which is what i'm doing. There's tutorials in game as well as RUclips.

This game is very realistic, graphic is nice of course but not even close to the modern standard, it's a lot that I don't search for it does it has now a downloadable version? How much it costs?
Yes. There is a downloadable version. There is a 9.99 USD/ month version on their website that you can try out first since this game does have a learning curve. Or you can get the 12 months subscription which is downloadable. I hope this helps!
@Antonio You get the full version. There an option to buy the stimulator for a one time price, and it comes with an USB stick, but you'll have to pay when the game is updated, which is not very often. The one you see on my channel is the subscription, which is the full game.
You can get it at www.esimgames.com/ We recommend that you get the 1 month liscenes to see if its a game that you'll enjoy. Do either the Leopard 2 or the M1A2 Abrams tutorial. You can also join my discord if you need help or if you're looking for play with us.
Steel Beasts has some nice features as far i can see. Due to this fact that is more an training tool than a game the focus is not on the graphic details (beside the tanks). I like the sounds and tank behavior. GHPC is also cool but please consider that this is unfinished product. It has also a sim aspect but the devs have lot to do there. I play GHPC and i like it so far. Hope that they will do what they shown on the roadmap. Ive watched already several Steel Beasts videos and i like it but i will not buy it. I'm very aware that it's not a finished product. I still cover and play GHPC on my channel and like I said, because of GHPC, it made me more interested in trying out Steel Beasts 🙂
This is actually being used in the CCTT systems across the military. This is one of the reasons why You have an AAR feature with and without the UAV asset.
I wish the Leopard crew's voice lines were less American and more European in some way, either in German or with an accent... Graphics for terrain are lacking but as a sim for training purposes it's more than enough. or you can do what we would do IRL and manually input the range in the CCP. that will fix the issue OR have a battlesight range indexed in the CCP so you can hit the battlesight button... 1200 for Sabot, 900 for heat, 600 for Coax and 300 for Canister.....
There’s a lot of really good high quality missions and operations you can download online. You should definitely do more Steel Beasts content
also, before you do any missions i would like to say that how well your A.I shoots depends on your gunnery example your gunnery is good then your A.I will have good gunnery but if your gunnery is bad then your A.I will have bad gunnery .
Rather, it depends on your *best* score on the gunnery range.
@@getsideways7257 its also based on each vehicle not just your gunnery score. I.E. If you do it on the Abrams, your tanks will be on point. You must do the same thing for all vehicles you will play. I only play U.S. vehicles so I do gunnery on all vehicles so that they are proficient.
Well, it is meant for military use so it makes sense why they would have 12-hour tutorials to mimic real world missions.
What. It was a military training simulator? I really enjoy playing it
Every time I hear gripes about graphics I just LMAO.
The header for this channel goes like: " I cover tactical, and immersive games "
Well, Im putting my marker out now, Phan, you'll end up buying the game, if that's the truth.
I'd love a multiplayer tank game that was a bit more of a simulator than War Thunder, but maybe Steel Beasts is a bit much for me
Gaijin : What do you mean modern tanks are not supposed to fight in a cod 2*2 m^2 maps ? that is impossible !
SBPro is still the top dog in tank sims. GHPC is awesome, but it's more like M1 Tank Platoon than, say, DCS.
War thunder? Why WoT? Ew!
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would love to see more
Phan…have a look at it in the Finnish Karelia training area video.
Infantry and support assets are coming but, yes GHPC is more tank/AFV heavy at this point.
@@157RANDOM which tank museum did you volunteer at? If you don't mind me asking?
@@PhanPhantasy I have been a volunteer at the Ontario Regiment Tank Museum in Oshawa, Ontario since 2015. I haven't been working there much lately due to work but hopefully I'll have more time off soon and can get back to semi-regular time there. If you're ever in the area I would highly recommend it. Especially for Aquino tank weekend around the end of June.
Nice video ! What's the map name at 9:38 ?
I dont remember if they still do Fulda Gap campaigns. but my favorite mission since the original steelbeasts was 6K Front with A2 ammo as the stipulation. loved it
So I'm seeing this as like GHPC to this is like Il-2 Great Battles to DCS.
Il2 tank crew is amazing also its in vr also
This like DCS for Tanks.
I bet that you have Steel Beast Pro PE..
Wait are those the old War Thunder crew sound effects in the background??
No.
@@PhanPhantasy Haha War Thunder instincts coming in
Also, I was thinking of getting steel beasts. I came across the website and I don't understand which license I need to get. Can you please help explain this to me?
@dim_sim142 sure, I'll paste what I said from a previous post.
You can go to esimgames.com to find it. In terms of payment there are a few options that may be confusing, so let me try my best to break it down:
First Option: One Time Payment
The one time payment is $115 USD. It comes with a USB Code meter for licenses. If there's a major update, which is not very often, you'll have to pay for the upgrade, which shouldn't be too much.
Second Option: Timely Subscription
There's monthly ($10), 4 months ($29.50), and 12 months ($49.50).
@@PhanPhantasy Got it, thanks! I'll join your discord
@@Solo6R its pretty much an arcade at this point until they feature an AAR section.

Yes. There is a downloadable version. There is a 9.99 USD/ month version on their website that you can try out first since this game does have a learning curve. Or you can get the 12 months subscription which is downloadable. I hope this helps!
@@PhanPhantasy what the actual difference between the 1 month and the 12 month a part from the time of the subscription of course
@Antonio You get the full version. There an option to buy the stimulator for a one time price, and it comes with an USB stick, but you'll have to pay when the game is updated, which is not very often. The one you see on my channel is the subscription, which is the full game.

For Steelbeast Pro PE, It replicates the real bradley from the gun to the Red optics. Even the inside of the Hell hole is the same as IRL...
only if they had a VR version
Steel Beasts has some nice features as far i can see. Due to this fact that is more an training tool than a game the focus is not on the graphic details (beside the tanks). I like the sounds and tank behavior. GHPC is also cool but please consider that this is unfinished product. It has also a sim aspect but the devs have lot to do there. I play GHPC and i like it so far. Hope that they will do what they shown on the roadmap.
Ive watched already several Steel Beasts videos and i like it but i will not buy it. I have tons of other games which are time consuming :)
Who Wants to see this man playing GHPC?
I'm covering and playing both games.
I wish the Leopard crew's voice lines were less American and more European in some way, either in German or with an accent... Graphics for terrain are lacking but as a sim for training purposes it's more than enough. I remember playing a bit of Steel Beasts back in the day, really enjoyed it at the time but then couldn't find it for the longest time.
I agree. It seems like they updated the graphics a bit but thats not my go to reason to play. My friend who's a Leo2 Gunner in the CAF taught me a bit of the fire control system procedures, so stay tuned for that video of us. 😁
You can change the voice language in the game itself which changes the fire commands to country specific ones.
@@Mirzayev sweet! And hello there 🙂

You cannot call Arma a game alongside squad or GHPC. Although I do like the other two you should be aware of Arma’s development history and usage.
To be clear, I am not. But for the sake of those who are coming from WT/WOT (which I've been getting comments from in my other videos) may not understand GHPC is an objective/scenario-based game rather than just a deathmatch feast.
Realistic and awesome just upgrade those graphics to 4k and drop the price of the PE version to 70 bucks and push it towards consumer vs government contracts and be a big seller. I want more military sims.
