Just as an aside my dear old mother was born and bread in Milnrow 102 years ago and i was raised myself in Blackburn, i didn't realise Rag Puddings were a Northen Dish, i now live in Timperley and your pudding looked delicious.
Hi Peter it’s always surprising when you go back to where you grew up. Some of my youth was in Hyde and going back brought some funny memories back. Greg, you bang on about supporting local independent retailers but couldn’t be bothered giving a shout out where you bought the pudding from other than Hyde indoor market. The stall, which sells loads of other really good stuff like ribs, speciality sausages, offal etc is called ‘Let’s Talk Tripe’ and is well worth a visit. By the way I’d have served my meal with gravy as I’m not a lover of watery pea juice! Buck up lad.

Looked okay but prefer a suet pudding. We use a deep fat frigher using sunflower oil as close to chip shop as you can get and you needed mushy peas sorry a 6 from me. Colin

The removal of Starch from potatoes is so so important, Your way of removing Starch from Potatoes is a great way. I’ve a little niggle for your own good health as you’ve said to me before now; I’ve attention to detail, I couldn’t help this time but see the condition of your well overused scratched Teflon Pans, For the interests of yourself Greg should any of that damaged Teflon manage to enter into your food, It can be considered harmful for you. Perhaps think about changing your pans for a none Teflon Pan Set like a good Stainless-Steel Set of Pans, Pans that are also able to heat on Induction Hobs of today as this is the new way forward with all households moving forward to Electric and the removal of Gas. Once Teflon is broken in any cookware its always best to disregard it for recycling as a matter of your own Health and Safety. Deep Air Fryers are also said to be the same. There are however now slowly creeping onto the market Stainless Steel Ovens as I just purchased one named: HySapientia. Although for the moment you are in need of New Pans buddy. Never heard of rag pudding, but my mum used to cook suet puddings, which could be savory or as a dessert with jam.....yummy. Looked a great meal.
