Hiya Greg, I was one of the people who recommended the Queens Arms sorry I didn’t take you up on your offer to join you. I recently had double eye surgery. So glad you enjoyed your next level carvery according to Frankie. Staff always come over and asked have you enjoyed your meal. Lovely staff. I have another fantastic recommendation for you. The red rose in Mossley it is an Indian restaurant. The offer is 5 courses on a Sunday but it doesn’t open till 5 and probably best to book because it gets hammered. The five courses are 1. Poppadoms with sauces 2. Starter we always have the mixed starter. 3. A huge choice of curry 4. Your side 5. Tea coffee and a chocolate. I would recommend the chicken shadoni if you like your curry’s hot My other half has the chicken rhondi which is more mild. Bon appetite 🍴
No problem Melanie thank you so much for the recommendation it’s a brilliant place. I like an Indian I rather do a quiet day tho which is the quieter days? Yeah love my curry’s 😋😋
@@Stockybloke we found this place by accident on a Saturday evening and it was pretty quiet. I couldn’t let you know about during weekdays though. I just wanted to share the red rose cause the Sunday offer is pretty good value for money. I always go in with a mind to try something new but I always end up ordering the shadoni every mouthful is truly delightful. 🍴
Passed that place a few times and wondered what it’s like. Good to know it’s accessible for wheelchair users too. The food looked decent and the staff seemed friendly. Will give it a try soon.
Another cracking find you got here, Greg! Great value and great people to make you feel welcome - which makes all the difference! This place reminds me of the Mickerbrook in Cheadle Hulme and the first time I ever had a carvery; I had never felt so full in my life - the apple crumble and custard dessert just finished me off. I'll definitely look into going here with the family. Ace review as ever!
Thanks James appreciate that. I had a Christmas dinner at the Mickerbrook once and it wasn’t good, and not been in since. So guess I’ll have to give it another try, as it was approximately 6/7 years ago. 👍
Great review Greg! This place looks nice on the face of it..! I'm always a bit wary of Carvery because usually you kind of know what you're going to end up with... Lukewarm food on a plate for about £13.95..! I do love a Sunday Carvery, but I've been put off them for this reason.. Also, not very keen on food when it's been sat under those heat lamps for too long and it's all dried up and hard as nails..! I've been meaning to try the Cheshire Line Tavern in Cheadle because I'm told they do a decent carvery there. 😋😊
@@Stockybloke I'll look out for that one. Thy've always had a good reputation for Sunday dinner, so I'll be interested to hear what you thought and see what the food was like. 😋😃
