    Features of the Audio-Technica ATH-GDL3:
    Open-back gaming headset lets you localize sounds (an approaching opponent, for example) within an expansive sound field
    Large-diameter 45 mm drivers deliver high-resolution audio with exquisite detail
    Incredibly lightweight headset (less than 220 grams) offers long hours of comfortable gaming
    State-of-the-art, flexible (and detachable) boom microphone, with highly directional pickup, provides crystal-clear in-game voice communication
    Volume control dial and mute switch are built into the left earcup for convenient control of the microphone
    Two detachable cables: 3.0 m (9.8') cable with 3.5 mm (1/8") mic and headphone plugs for computers; 1.2 m (3.9') cable with a 3.5 mm (1/8") TRRS plug for PS5, Xbox Series X, and other gaming consoles
    Earpads and headpad detach for easy replacement
    Highlights for me:
    Lightweight design
    LOUD
    Open back design means you can hear yourself even without mic monitoring
    Doesn't get too hot
    Better quality than it looks
    Comfortable fit for hours and hours
    Mic is great for the money
    Lowlights:
    Ear cups are too shallow (7cm x 6cm x 2.4cm deep)
    Specs:

      @@TheProvokedPrawn That was very useful thanks. 👍🏻 Question, don't suppose you tried the SHP9500 and if so what's the soundstage, clamping-force & anti-heat level of this compared to SHP?

    This was a great review, thank you. I've been searching for one open back headset with great microphone for my remote job and I after hearing you I think these are the ones. Your voice is great, sounds so clear.

    not looking at these for gaming but having a opt mic is nice to have, but would you recommend this for video editing or other uses outside of gaming?

    Hey The Provoked Prawn. Can you tell me about how the GDL3 headset compares to the older Audio Technica ATH-ADG1x headset. I saw your review of this headset 4 years ago. Which one do you prefer for gaming and hearing the footstep sounds and just better for gaming? Thanks for any help.

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  2 года назад +1

      I certainly prefer this over the other one to be honest. Though with that much time between them I can't tell you why I just remember not being very impressed with the previous headset

    • @usernamechecksout8491
      @usernamechecksout8491 2 года назад

      @@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for that. A lot of people didn't like the old ADG1x because of the build of it. It was an auto fit wing system that didn't fit everyone. Hopefully these are an upgrade over them since I ordered one 🙂

    • @usernamechecksout8491
      @usernamechecksout8491 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Implexity I actually canceled my order since i prefer headsets with flip to mute mics since it easier to mute instead of trying to find the mute switch. I might buy the pc38x as that is highly rated online for gaming.
