Rixch should have gotten the announcer gig on the show. Jim's not bad, but when it comes to exciting wins, Fields is the man!

BRAINS AND BRAWN was the same puzzle that won Babette the $100,000 on an episode of NFL Players Week from Fort Lauderdale

She was extremely calm about that 100k.
You can say the same about Aaron and Karly Mandell when they won $100K nearly seven and a half years later...
From what I've heard from other commenters, she thought she won $10,000. During the break, it either dawned on her or someone had to tell her she won $100,000 and she fainted after, it's why you see her sitting with Pat and Vanna during the last segment

I remember watching this for the first time and she didn't get all that excited that she won $100,000. In the mean time, I was watching this and I was yelling SHE WON $100,000! OH MY GOSH! I was more excited about it then she was! Nothing towards her though!

@@martingardner9124 Jim and Rich were the only two candidates who were offered a second week of tapings with Bob during that audition process, so technically they were the last two standing
At the end, Pat & Vanna sit down & congratulated Hillary for the win. That never quite happen before for those $100,000 wins. Sometimes Pat will complain about the big confetti mess in this stage XD. But hey it was the great win.
Now with Rich in helm, let's get on for the Million. :D but great win there for the 100k
Hopefully, we'll have another $100,000 win...this time with Rich in studio. I felt he was better during last week's shows (when he was) versus this week's.

Rich didn't have any more excitement in his voice than he did plugging grocery items on the TPIR computer game. I've seen other contestants like this react to big wins. The winner of the $40K TofC on USA Chain Reaction in 1991 comes to mind(her reaction was "I think I need to lie down"). There was a TPIR contestant who won a Cadillac or Lincoln in 3 Strikes followed by $11K in the SCSD who cared less than this contestant did.
I wonder if him being fired from TPIR had anything to do with it?

Was that Jim Thornton as the announcer?
That was actually Rich Fields. After he left Price is Right, Harry Friedman called him on the day Charlie died to be an interim announcer. Jim Thornton (coincidentally was the other finalist for the TPIR announcer job after Rod Roddy died) was hired a few months later

It was a weak reaction because she actually fainted from shock...check after they came back from that short break and she was sitting down...
