One of the best looking vintage inspired watches, congrats man thats awesome gift by your friend. The best rust remover is vinegar, put it on piece of cotton and rub it until rust is gone or first soak it with crown laying in glass of vinegar 1 millimeter just to cover the rust part for about an hour and then rub it with cotton i believe you will remove it.
Coming from a guy who would never purchase a quartz. Doesn't like quartz, and would normally just look away. I must say this is a beautiful watch and the quartz doesn't bother me at all. The case shape and dial are gorgeous. What a friend you have there. Seems like a great and generous dude. I've picked up 3 of these now, 1 with the crazy clear red box. If you look you can find these cheap because people don't realize they are pretty nice. I've found mine all on poshmark, if you find one with the rubber strap they are all discolored. They seem to absorb grime and discolor fast. What an awesome gift. It's nice to have great friends like that.
@@TheTownWatch I found one just like your but it's chocolate brown dial and bezel ... I like yours better . I saw another one from the 1960s black and orange dial the was pretty amazing they wanted 5k .it was mint.
yeah theyre amazing . i got a bright yellow one from my dad . its had the original wrist piece wasted away so another sodiac equally yellow is fitted with it . i love it more than for its cost of course . but it s a very sturdy piece . im planning on putting the original belt on it back too i love the one the is rustic with the holes . t his one is very nice too "!!
The "Dragon" series (I have the Speed Dragon in rose gold) were the first watches produced under Fossil when they took over the Zodiac marque in 2001. I love mine!

Nice watch. I started out in watches looking down my nose at quartz but that has changed as I get deeper into the hobby. Good gift from a friend.
