Love your videos. Just wanted to give you a heads up as I have spent most of my day trying to set up my brand new Launch control xl mk2 with my OP-Z. If you have a Mac like me and are running macOS Catalina these two will not allow you to use the Launch Control XL editor as the editor software is 32bit and Catalina will only allow you to run 64bit software. I just wanted to give all you Mac users out there a heads up. This is from the Novation website. Launch Control, Launch Control XL Works with macOS Catalina? YES (Yes on the website is in a orange color, meaning its currently is not working but they are trying to fix the issue) The Launch Control editors are 32 bit and will not currently run on macOS Catalina, our developers are currently investigating a solution. We apologise for the inconvenience.
@@FreeBeat No worries, lucky for me I do have a windows machine and was able to get it working without much fuss. Cant wait for your configuration file of the Launch controller. Yours looks way better then the one I got from another youtuber.
The Launch Control editor doesn't work on macOS Catalina, but Novation suggests using their Web tool Components (components.novationmusic.com/launch-control-xl-mk2/templates/) instead. The new tool has a different template format, so it can't pick up the old template files. It can however pull the templated from a running device and save in the correct format. Do any of you mind pulling the template from the device with a tool and sharing it? Thanks

Wow! I had no idea! I’m so excited by this… honestly I NEVER listen to jams and wasn’t trying to here. I Shocked I’ve got the XL and never realised I could do something like this with it..going to see if I could control my Integra 7. I can try!

Only issue I have is that when the Op-Z is sending midi out as well, it causes the XL to revert to the factory templates. I know its probably something "simple" but I am a midi noob (and easily confused), so if you know how to fix this could you explain in layman's terms or point me in the right direction? Would be really appreciated, much love.
Don't worry, it's an easy fix :) Just go into the OP-Z app on Android or iOS and find the MIDI section. From there, you can disable MIDI out from the OP-Z. Thanks for watching!

It *should* In Cuckoo's video (which came out in 2018 before the OP-Z was even released) it didn't work. However, firmware update 1.1.27 (released about this time last year) says that added multiple device support with a USB hub. I'll be picking one up within the month to do some testing! @@FreeBeat my opz is at firmware 1.2.17 (december 2019) and I just tried a cheap UNpowered USB hub to connect my korg nanopad 2 and korg nanokey2, that doesn't seem to work. Probably need a powered one.
And all that noise was comin' out of the OP-Z? So what you're telling me is there's enough smarts in that little grey TV remote that it might actually be worth what T.E. is charging for it? 😀 Pretty hip jam, by the by...
If I could get my hands on a force I would absolutely love to do that! Unfortunately it's quite a spendy device haha. I'm super glad they brought the MPC 2.10 features to the force though!
Hey,, I had the same Idea like you, but (sry for the bad News) it´s not that easy with the Force. CAuse you can´t make a Template for it, the only way tpo sync them is the MIDI learn Functon from the Force itself. a lot of fiddling and the result is also unsatisfactory, because suppose you know Fader 1 - Track 1 Vol , it's working perfect, but when you change only the plugin of this track e.g. Hype to Solina, you have to reassign it again.
It definitely would! I'm building my music production setup right now, so I wanted to get a launchkey 49, but I couldn't find one in stock. I've got a launchpad mini coming though, which should provide some interesting control options! Thanks for watching!
Just bought the novation launch controller XL for muting and soloing tracks on my M8 tracker. I set the bottom knobs to toggle. And you know what? They don't toggle the LED's. They stay dimmed. So for all of you that want to use the Launch Controller as a way to control mute and solos. You will not get visual feedback from the bottom knobs!!!! Huge disappointment. However, if you have a Launchpad Pro the buttons WILL toggle the LED's.

The OP-Z is absolutely a little monster, but the build quality leaves a LOT to be desired.
With the release of Akai Force 3.1, is it possible for you to sell a template for the Novation Launch Control for the Force and release a video?

But it work´s without als this Stress with a real Mixer that has an USB Output, there are some little Guys from Behringer for around 50-70 Bugs.
