Pat has a 5 octave range an octave for every foot of her. Such a fantastic singer. They were going on tour this year when Neal had to undergo emergency eye surgery to save the sight in his right eye. Great reaction guys, keep it up.
Along with those powerful, classically trained, (including operetta), vocals and her tough-girl musical persona, Pat helped popularize spandex and short hair for women, making them 80's fashion statements. Neil Giraldo's solo here was the frosting on the cup cake.
As a matter of fact, she was a trained operatic singer, but luckily for us, she wanted to ROCK! "Hell is for Children", is a banger... literally any song off her first few albums is a great one! Thanks for the review! 💙 xx Cynthia
Good song, it has energy, tempo, powerful drums, good solo and vocals, Pat Benatar has many hits, my favorite songs that are on my personal playlist are "Sex As A Weapon" and "Precious Time".
Pat is freakin amazing, & Neil can hold his own with not only guitar work but arrangements. Saw them a few years back but wife & I want to catch another show soon. Still rockin’ & looks terrific.
You guys need to listen to more of Pat. She has massive range, because of the opera training others have referenced. She’s SO good that she is comfortable singing low, mid AND high and maintain it. And yeah, check out Promises in the Dark.
Dynamite performance! I always enjoyed playing this and her other songs on the radio, plus I'd often say she could dance on my face with her spiked heels anytime she wanted. FYI-- she never did ;-P
In the 70s, one of my best friends looked exactly like Pat. Everyone thought it was Pat. Shari would always say that Pat looked like her, instead of the other way around. lol. We got in a lot of private parties without trying. Good old days. In 86, Shari was killed by a drunk driver. She had always said she would die young, and I’d get mad at her for saying that. But she was right. Just under 5 feet tall, when I became a local DJ, she was my bodyguard. She was hell fire in a tiny body. Benetar never gets the credit she’s deserved.
We live in a really small town in Virginia with a population of about 1400 people. We've had one trick or treaters in 3 years because all the kids wre scared of my house. I live in a 1865 Victorian that we are renovating. We bought the house after we retired (@ 50 years old).
Monotone?!? WTF is Ryan hearing there. Pat Benatar is literally opera-trained, and is known for her mezzo-soprano vocal range, which spans 4.5 octaves which was VERY much on display in the song that y'all just literally heard!! 🤣 C'mon now...🤭 I think the term that Ryan was trying to describe is "no-nonsense." Pat Benatar, for her first 3 albums, was VERY no-nonsense (which I loved). Then beginning with her fourth album, she began to open up her more vulnerable side, and it was a very nice, sweet shift in her singing personality. Anyways, y'all should definitely do "Hell Is For Children" next, followed by "You Better Run," "We Live For Love," "Promises In The Dark," "Fire And Ice," "Shadows Of The Night," "Love Is A Battlefield," "We Belong," "Invincible" and "All Fired Up." Then we can get to the _Innamorata_ stuff from 1997 sometime later on. 😁
Hell is for Children is really o e if the first rock songs to tackle child abuse. Pat read a story in the newspaper about it and was stunned. She really wanted tge song penned with guitarist and husband Neil Getardo to be gritty. Pat has a Foundation for abused women and children.
at the time this song was raw sexy wounded adult woman without any bubblegum coyness,, it freaked out a lot of men, think Debbie Harry, Joan Jett - It was an era of revelation & women loved it!
Imminence with the song “Come What May.” It’s a Live Version at the Ystads Teater. They actually have a Live Video now. Lead singer plays violin while singing and screaming. It’s kind of unheard of having violin in metalcore. It’s an emotional song. ruclips.net/video/itXiwA2dNGo/видео.htmlsi=tnSkkZY75jO87fcV
Can it be that time of the year for UK to go down in flames to Vols again? Oh wait..... You guys have Basketball, right Nick? -- Only actually , uh, well no you don't.
Your reviews just aren’t the same without Ty. I still think a hot woman who is into music and can articulate what she thinks would be a great addition.

Her song "you better Run" was the 2nd song ever played on MTV
Historic ❤
Love Pat. Saw her in July this year and at 72 she was amazing still after all these years
Love Pat! She has such range and power. Her best song in my opinion is Promises In The Dark. Amazing song, great video too.
Pat is the Queen of rock n roll
“ Promises in the Dark.” Legend. Watch this live and you will see her energy.
*It's a beautiful thing when a trained opera singer goes ROCK!!!!!!*
Love the smile on Nick's face thru the whole song LOL
✌Peace✌
One of the Goats, for women singers!
How about just one of the goats. Period.

Great song, that last “Heartbreakerrrrrr” is fire! I also like “Treat Me Right”, “Hell is for Children”, “Fire and Ice”,
and “Promises in the Dark”.

yes, ANOTHER awesomely talented Long Islander! Born in Brooklyn, raised in Lindenhurst, L.I. ❤🎵🎧
I use to be in a band , and we covered this, then went into a Deep Purple song, pretty sure it was Space Trucking. Fun days!!
She was a trained opera singer.
Still is.

I love the video for "Precious Time"! Back in the 80's I used to wait for that video to come on MTV!

Saw Pat and Neil a couple of years ago. She sounds incredible. ❣️✌🏽
She was SO big, that she is referenced as a style guru for girls in the movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”.
This song is a great mix of power and cheese. Love it!
Heartbreaker💔
Grand Funk Railroad≫Led Zeppelin≫Pat Benatar💋
One whole episode of Seinfeld was dedicated to this song. It’s hilarious!!!
That naked Marshall tone makes my inner child smile.
Dynamite performance! I always enjoyed playing this and her other songs on the radio, plus I'd often say she could dance on my face with her spiked heels anytime she wanted. FYI-- she never did ;-P

What no flames ?.... I so miss when radio played "new" songs and they were on this level...Neil's guitar was her only needed back up singer. 😂
