Have you spent years on your SEO for someone to just pay for a spot above you?

I just finished 3 seo courses and I am just about to write my first blog post. Lol
You know what sir. Maybe I should have never got into seo. I spent 100 on a RUclips course a year ago. But I got dragged away with seo.
Would you suggest that I create videos before making my site? I am confused. Because both takes time. And my blog site only had the structure created

@@ekot0419 Both are probably necessary for a business, but I don't see a problem starting with RUclips, then slowly building out your website.

I've been working in SEO for over 10 years now and running my own agency at the moment. I 100% can confirm that SEO is not dead at all. It has changed significantly over time and those who adapt survive. For certain business and niche categories SEO might not be the best marketing channel however, for others it drives the majority of their revenue.

I agree with you that SEO "can" still be effective. I did SEO for an international non-profit for years and with enough effort and money... it can certainly help tilt the scales in your favor. My observation and talking with business owners is that they are being asked to pay $3k-$15k a month for SEO services regardless of industry and strategy. It just isn't the full proof strategy it use to be 10 years ago and businesses have alternate strategies now that don't include SEO.

I've been doing it since 2013. SEO is probably not dead but it has become costly and it's not for everyone. In the past, it was all about keyword, on page SEO and all those things. People spammed it and as a result, here we are. Now, it's all about money and brand, those who can bring more direct traffic, those who can get their brands searched, those who can get more links, those who can copy others websites, yes copy, people are literally copying and modifying stuffs & they are doing better, whether an expert admits it or not. Education should be free but we delivered education to wrong people who misused it and spammed it. Google became strict and these days, people and SEO experts are at a loss. Competition has increased, only 10 can stay out of millions. I am ranting about it but it is totally justified because all these SEO Gurus out there are just giving fake hopes to their students because what works for them, can rarely work for others, it's no longer about a single tip or trick anymore. And we must stop this business of selling SEO courses on the tip of nails that only hard workers win.

This video should have way more views. When searching for answers to a question on Google, Reddit posts, medium blog posts, TikTok and RUclips videos also show up at the top of the search results! Whether it is written content or video, content is the SEO cheat code.

You are 100% correct. With their new Ai rollouts, regular SEO is gone. You will have to pay. They can now serve up their own Ai info. There is no need to send someone to a website for information. I think you are right about video, and maybe people search within “communities”, e.g. Medium, for good writing, not AI AI-generated i.e. skip Google and go to your social media site / sites with more specific communities and search there.

I think we are missing thing together SEO is free while SEM is not.
Google is a bussiness, same as the content posted on a free google channel, when optimized freely to ranked is called SEO.
I will say you have your product, content marketing or not content marketing, you pay google to rank your product. If your content is bad you will end up not selling.
The main goal is to sell.
    SEO IS NOT DEAD BRO.
SEO is the process of understanding how to pictch your content. either pay google to help pitch or learn it.

    • @Matt_Marrs
      @Matt_Marrs  3 месяца назад +2

I agree with you from a technical standpoint, but it has not always been like this. 10 years ago, they may push an ad or two above you, but now there are certain categories where you are 10 down the page. You are right in that Paid and Organic are not the same, but the leverage SEO now has is minimal in competitive markets.

I think SEO was a good way to get to the top of the search results without actually having good, relevant content on your websites. I think it is a big part of why search results are abysmal nowadays (just go to any recipe-site) but selling the top spot to the highest bidder is not exactly a great alternative either...

Interesting. I'm more interested in user behavior though. User studies have been showing that most people do not click on sponsored results. Additionally, there are different kinds of users. Some are more detailed oriented and they are more likely to click through because they often need/want more information (aka they are needing the know, like, & trust factors). However, I don't disagree that SEO has become more challenging, especially for small businesses.

08:55 I think Google said it before SEO about the content not throughout the layout of the website you're creating, so investors will have to spend money for the content utilization not website layout and that's from the beginning, so I think they JUST do hammer on such principle.

Hoo, that's an interesting one! It sounds like a clickbaity title to get a rise out of people, doesn't it? If someone says something like "SEO is dead", they probably mean those old keyword-stuffing and spammy backlink tactics don't work anymore. The funny thing is, SEO itself will probably never die entirely. After all, search engines like Google want to show people the best and most helpful content, right? So the goal of SEO might change a bit, becoming more about understanding what people really want and giving them great, honest answers instead of trying to trick the system. Of course, this is just Mumei thinking out loud, I wouldn't want to analyze the video without watching it first!

I also use google to research products I am going to buy. You're click baiting. Get real. SEO is unlikely to die, as industries and marketing strategies progress, obviously your tactics have to change. I won't be watching anymore of your videos, you waste a lot of time.
