I seen another video of poor people making rice wine with the same process. They soaked the rice, dried it , pound it manually along with leaves and herbs to make a paste for the small yeast balls or cake, and let dry. It is ready when white mold appears. Rice is steamed and spread out to cool. Then the yeast balls are ground up and sprinkled over the rice, put in jar for the bacteria and yeast to ferment the rice. Glad your video confirmed about the flour. I am about to try making rice wine

Thank you for this video. I would have done the same, tried to pulse rice straight in the blender. Don't need to do that now. Thanks again.

The reason for soaking the rice is to soften it. I also soak my rice for awhile when I'm cooking it. By the way, I'm Chinese and eat a lot of rice.

You dont have to soak the rice at all. Just straight from the bag to processor or blender and thats it. People think you need to wash the rice because they think it's dirty as if it came from the rice patty straight to packaging. The rice is cleaned before packaging as part of the process. They put starch or talcum in the rice to keep it from clumpimg. So you can rinse that off if you want but since you want flour then it's no big deal. No need to soak or wash the rice to make rice flour. Also people will say you have to was the Arsenic off the rice, lol funny thing is thats not how it works. Again don't worry about the Arsenic in rice, fact is Arsenic is in the air, in the water, and in nearly all foods. Your welcome for the information.

She clearly demonstrated that if you don't soak the rice it won't blend.

Oat flour from oatmeal works just as well and is much easier.
